I'm overall really a fan of the art on these things. They have a somewhat surreal feel to them. I know some people are complaining for one reason or another, but its working for me.

At this point I just want to see them for real. The text box might be a little too opaque for them to have even bothered with transparency at all. Some of them it shows through well but the really dark arts it just looks flat.
The arts for Blood Crypt and Bloodstained Mire should be swapped.
This. Someone in the art department really made a doo-doo there.
Also, Stomping Ground (and to a lesser extent Godless Shrine) are perfect examples of how you successfully use Zendikar's unique geography to completely reinterpret the urban names of the Ravnican shocklands.

I definitely wish they could have just assumed we know what these cards do and omitted text boxes entirely.
Agreed wholeheartedly. I assume it was deemed a poor idea because inevitably there will be new players that open these cards and will be confused by them, but I still wish we could have gotten zero text.

Meh. A couple of them look pretty good (delta and watery grave are nice), and will likely look great in foil, but the rest are kind of bland and generic. It almost feels like these things were rushed, and WotC didn't actually take a step back to look at them. I'd laugh if someone actually tried to sell me that blood crypt or wooded foothills for $150 or w/e they're going for.
The artwork seems so uninspired compared to the others, and none actually fit the card name. Where are the hills/mountains for Wooded Foothills?
The arts for Blood Crypt and Bloodstained Mire should be swapped.
Edit: referencing the first post
Foothills I think is the only card that really suffers from the card frame. It's a really cool high-concept piece where the mountains literally turn into trees the higher they go, but losing the bottom means that all sense of perspective goes out the window.
I really don't know how they're going to top or follow this up with the Winter Expeditions. They got a very small window to hit for me. Which is fine with me, allows my wallet to pursue and get these lands.
Wouldn't mind upgrading my shocks to these, especially my RTR ones. I'd love a few of those fetches, but I'd prefer to give my kidneys to someone who needs them, not Wizards.
Interesting to see how the Expeditions art works with the cardframes. Some benefit (the Verdant Catacombs art actually looks like it's properly centered, since not much was going on in the bottom half of the fully visible art), others suffer (the foreground flowers in Breeding Pool are entirely obscured), but overall they turned out better than I had thought they would based on the full art.
There's only two or three I'd keep rather than sell if I happened to pull them (Godless Shrine, Wooded Foothills, and maybe Bloodstained Mire), but that's only because so many of the best pieces are on the more expensive lands - Misty Rainforest, Polluted Delta, Scalding Tarn, and Verdant Catacombs - and I could most likely use the money from those to get a full playset of normal ones (and then some, in the case of the Delta).

I said the same thing in the other thread
The frames somehow don't ruin Polluted Delta, Breeding Pool, Verdant Catacombs, and Watery Grave. Nice!
Where's Scalding Tarn?

Now I'm sure I won't be keeping them in case I open any.
Before the glory of Yawgmoth, yes, even this makes sense.
That is exactly what I was thinking. I feel like maybe crypt and mire got the wrong art by mistake.
