I have to agree with the comments on the art.I'm not saying it should have used the same art as Magosi, the waterveil, but they are obviously supposed to be depicting the same thing. Part the waterveil looks like a tiny and random 'waterfall' in some nondescript forest

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.

Art is indeed subjective, but its possible to recognize both the quality of art in styles you don't personally appreciate, while also the weak arts in styles whether you like them or not. This card doesn't have great art, but its not horrible. Darksteel Forge is actually a pretty striking and neat art, whether its up your alley or not, its got a pretty peculiar geometry and direction, and the shaded figures in the background keep it intriguing. This is land art. It could have been printed on any ol nonbasic land that just produces mana, nobody would have noticed. But the subject matter, an already printed land, didn't give the artist much option. I don't think its a stinker art, its unremarkable, and this set has a lot of unremarkable art and a few stinkers too. Almost all the eldrazi have interchangeable art this set for example. If I created a slideshow of the various ulamog eldrazi you wouldn't have a clue which one is which if you didn't spend 10 minutes memorizing the spoilers. And thats not a sure consequence of the subject matter, as ulamog's crusher and pathrazer of ulamog (rote original art- disregard promo) might show you.
I'm trying to imagine which eldrazi this set weren't handed to the artists with a description of "A titan, viewed from a tilted bottom-up angle, with its arm outraised and tentacles sticking out of its head/chest at chaotic angles"

I don't think its bad at all, its just not Magosi. Magosi is a giant waterfall pouring down from a massive plateau to pool, flow, and fall across huge steppes. Part the waterveil is a depiction of a small stream pouring over a boulder in a random forest. Both the arts are good to me, but the disconnect between them is bad.

I like this for EDH because of the art, the lack of targeting, and the $ price (it's not going to be super expensive). It's also a little more fair with exile clause. I imagine I'll try to pick one up. It's too bad Temporal Manipulation costs $70-90 and Capture of Jingzhou costs $400-500. On the other hand, extra turns are annoying in EDH anyway.

Do you not understand? This art IS magosi. It's magosi that got demolished by eldrazi, a gigantic chunk of it ripped out. Can you really not see it? This art is brilliant.
There are so many EDH decks that want the highest possible number of turn taking spells, no matter what the cost is. This, like all the others, go right into Narset.
To those complaining about the exile clause you try being the one who is sitting there while someone is blinking an Archaeomancer/Eternal Witness to keep casting Time Warp. Not exactly fun. It's there to keep it from being abused mainly in casual multiplayer games.
We're well beyond protecting casual multiplayer from shenanigans.
Hey, I`m not too fond of people taking lots of extra turns either, but let`s not say that cards supporting a strategy we personally dislike should not exist. Different strokes for different folks, right? Some people hate basic stuff like counter spells, but we`re not interested in hearing them complain every time they print another one.
And that list, JPo, is incredibly forced. Most of those cards are unplayable and a some of the other ones are ridiculously expensive.
I agree that it`s a boring use of a blue mythic, but arguing that this card has no place, well... it`s wrong.

Hey guys, I have an exclusive spoiler for the blue mythic card in the next block, after BfZ. It's really exciting. It's a mythic for 7 mana which gives you an extra turn! Not only that, it gets better. It also has the set's signature mechanic attached on it. ''Fortify - When you cast this spell, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature''. Exciting stuff coming down the pipeline.

That's weird. Doesn't match up at all to the Fortify we already have. I think your source may be lying to you.
The problem I see with this is that the creature seems tacked on and unexciting. Would anyone find this card better if it were like this:
Lorthos, Slave to Ulamog 6UUU
Legendary Creature - Octopus
When Lorthos enters the battlefield, take an extra turn after this one.
Evoke - 4UU
6/6
At least we would have a new time warp commander
I would hate playing against that in commander. Its totally broken by any blink effect ever. It would be worse than fighting narset.

I guess he just misremembered the keyword name ¯\_(:/)_/¯
That has to be the blandest, most boring artwork I've ever seen on a mythic rare. Just reprint time warp already instead of slapping a overcosted mechanic on every card in this set.
EDIT: Magosi isn't high up there on the scale, but I like it better than some of these.
All of those strike me more than this, which could be just another forest, island or UG dual land. Stuff like the portal or darksteel forge at least looks unique and memorable, I think. I also happen to like the sphinx art, maybe my taste in art is just weird.
Nah, you ain't weird. Art appreciation, like Magic cards and the "best" format to play them in, is all subjective.
I just...I dunno, that Sphinx really creeps me out for some reason. I think it's the weird breasts.
Really now, I think her chest ist quite the eyecatcher. Mtg art doesn't show a lot of skin nowadays when it comes to females, Kiora being a welcome exception. You know what creeps me out? The fnm art for child co... I mean sin collector *shiver*.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
Better than any old junk mythic that nobody will ever want.
?? This card is the very definition of "old junk mythic that nobody will ever want" once out of limited it will never see play. (like the vast majority of these cards format, meh meh meh)
I buy cards like this for EDH all the time. Please speak for yourself not for everyone else. Simply because you don't want to play the card, doesn't mean other people won't find a use for it.

Yeah i should have been a bit more precise, saying a card is good for EDH is the same as saying it's good for limited, what card is no good for EDH? I played it before the format was ever aknowledged by WOTC, it was a fun format, no more, created to play with our junk cards, as wagic.
So yeah, it's playable in this kind of format, i admit.
Are you actually arguing that any crap card is playable in EDH and limited? You`re speaking gibberish.

Getting reeeeal sick of seeing that exile clause on these time spells. It's one thing for Temporal Mastery and Temporal Trespass, where those cards can be cast for 2-3 mana, but without extra help, PtW is at least SIX! Even with Awaken, is getting a 6/6 stapled to a Time Warp really that busted for nine mana?
Edit: Forgot Narset was still a thing. Still, I feel like this is just how it's gonna be from now on, and while sometimes it makes sense, here it's kind of eh.
Even with Narset being a thing, taking two extra turns isn't that extreme. It wouldn't bother me that much: I'd be more concerned about infinite turns, but that's not an issue. I hate the exile clause.

An extra turn can be all you need when trying to set up a combo for your Damia or Oloro deck. You'd think people on this forum have only ever played one format in their life and stick to it. I play standard, modern and EDH and I can appreciate cards from many different angles.

This isn't strictly true. There is a point of diminishing returns. I have a melek taking turns decks. It plays a lot of time walks, but some are just too mediocre. Temporal Trespass is probably the worst sorcery, since it is a billion mana, and I'm not likely to delve away all my non-exiling time walks just to cast it. This one will make the cut, as 6 mana isn't the worst rate ever - I play walk the aeons and it rarely gets buyback'ed. I don't play beacon of tomorrows either, and I don't regret it since I've never actually gotten to a the point where it would be the only card left in my deck.

6 mana Time Walks are okay, and the Awaken bonus seems good. Once again, a great limited card that won't see constructed play---surprise, surprise

No, there really are only white and blue awaken cards. Or did you mean that the cards are pushed? I think they all are great for control decks so far.
