It bugs the hell out of me that it's not a demon. They can never get these cycles right, there's always ONE. I bet the white one is definitely an angel too.

They didn't care that he was the savior of Fort Keff, the great hunter of Ondu, the champion of Kabira. To them, he was just another piece of flesh, a thing with life to be drained away.
neh Prism Array already won.I can't imagine a rare worse then that
Prism array is good. It's a nerfed parallax wave, but it is still a card that has some upside in some 5 color Control decks or in limited.
This guy is so much worse than the FRF kholaghan!
I think the worst card in the set has to be the other vampire rare.
i just can't see it good because you're forced to use 5 colors for it even tough you have access to all colors why would you a card like this?Yes scry 3 is good but is really worth the effort just top tap and scry?
Limited seems worse because it seems it will be abit too hard to have 5 colors deck in limited.
It will be good if Bx aggro is a thing and with Drana is certainly looks like they want it to be a thing. Considering there will be plenty of ramp getting to six for agggro is not insane
Again with the "it costs too much to be good"
We have fetches and sylvan scrying is incoming. Ramping and triggering this lady twice a turn doesn't strike me as outside of the realm of possible
These cards are not the bane of MtG, horrible players who do nothing but netdeck and ***** and moan are
Aggro decks don't want to touch a six drop with a 10 foot pole. Especially six drops that only do anything of note if you play more lands. Tell me, have you ever looked at the types of curves supported by aggro decks? Usually they're only undercut by RDW.
It's been a while since we've seen WotC push a five colour deck, fetches and fetchable lands in Standard
The problem is people evaluate using only the past rather than looking at what's available
Look at Flip Jace: he's basically a looter twho turns into a worse, repeatable, Snapcaster and almost everybody said he was unmitigated garbage
People on this forum are absolutely awful evaluators not because they are consistently horribly wrong but because they are incapable of thinking for themselves, they just netdeck and think they are good at the game

I agree the list of cards MTGS users underrated is ridiculously long but I think people got it right this time. The card is obviously not constructed playable and even in limited it doesn't look as good as the others in the cycle.
I'm less surprised by the fact that this card is garbage than I am by the fact that it isn't a demon, to match the others being their color's iconic creature type.
But is it the worst rare of the set? Now thats a race.
Can you even identify this set's worst rare because I definitely can't. They all blend together in an awkward, bland, uninspired mess. I'd call it a draw between all contenders.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
This card just is garbage. Time for us to move along with our lives. We are all a collected company in that this isn't worth anyone's time. It doesn't even pump itself, its stats are below curve (Woodland Bellower poops on this even with two colors for converge) and no one will want to drop this turn 6. Ever.

But none of what's available leads me to believe that this card is the sort of thing an aggro deck will want to ramp into.
Why not?
Now I do want to be clear that I don't think this is an all-star in the making
I had an initial reaction of "lame" but then considering that we have fetches, great lands to fetch, sylvan scrying, ramp and lots of 1/1 tokens I reconsidered my position
Maybe less classic aggro and a more aggressive midrange deck?
I just want people to discuss the card rather than "blah it's garbage"
It's like the third Un-set no one was expecting. Every other card is a joke
Note that I'm one of those that advocate for being moderated on opinions on BFZ as we already don't know the full spoiler, but that made me laugh. A lot

Well, as others have pointed out, a 6-drop that requires you to continue to draw land in order to function is a bad place to be. This gal, in particular, has a further restriction that the others of the cycle don't: she needs other creatures for her ability to do anything, and lots of other creatures to be worthwhile.
But, like I said, others in this thread have already gone over those points. What hasn't really been touched upon is all the cards Guul Draz Overseer has to compete with for deck space. Cards don't exist in a vacuum, and they only see play in the absence of better options. There are simply far too many cards that do Guul Draz Overseer's job better for her to be worth playing. She works well with eldrazi scions, since they help ramp into her and provide bodies for her to pump, but decks that churn out tokens would rather run Smothering Abomination. If it's just the team buff you want, you're better off with young Kolaghan; her buff isn't nearly as conditional. Brutal Hordechief can also serve this function. Looking for good landfall triggers? The Retreats exist. Simply looking for an efficient beater for your aggresive black/whatever deck? Archfiend of Depravity, Boltwing Marauder, Butcher of the Horde, Dragonlord Kolaghan, Kothophed, Soul Hoarder, or Priest of the Blood Rite. Or you could just do what all the cool kids are doing and run Siege Rhino and Tasigur. They're much better beaters.
You know, given the outrage that some of the other rares have gotten, I really can't believe this one's getting off so light. I think this is the worst rare in the set to this point. This could have cost 3BB, pumped itself as well, and STILL been far too weak for Standard (and only modestly strong in Limited). It's bizarre to me just how weak this feels even compared to the other members of its own relatively underpowered cycle. I honestly can't think of a single deck that would or should ever play this.
I saw so much value in KtK. Fun in limited. Made waves in all constructed formats. That was the bar. No one dared to call it a cash-grab set. I would say overall KtK was better than Innistrad, and RtR wasn't too far behind Innistrad. Couldn't BfZ set itself equal to RtR at the very least?
It seems too early to say that, but we've seen a ton of rares/mythics to discern a general feeling at least. And it comes off as uninspiring. Lacklustre.
But the people behind the barrier knew.
Alright I'm torn. If thats a bad tumble magnet, whats this a bad of? Kamahl? Lavafume Invoker? :S
