That blue retreat is REALLY good. It seems meh, but realize that it makes all of your basic land drops Temples. And if you need to, tap down a potential threat (cough, eldrazi, cough).
Wasteland Strangler is removal on stick, low-costed, seems effective.
I like how this only requires "processing" one exiled card, not two. Much easier to trigger. One complaint... say it with me now... WHY IS THIS RARE? Please do not tell me "because limited." These effects have almost always been fine on uncommon creatures, and I would think that would be even more the case here, where it can't kill larger creatures and isn't and evasive body either.
Because it's ridiculously swingy effect. Skinrender was played and if exiling stuff gets enough support, this one will too.
Bulk rares don't care. This limited format will be hella sweet though

+1 person seeing parallels between Ugin's Insight and Jace's Ingenuity. I find it incredibly cute.
Staring at angel very hard and waiting for cheaper allies. Hoping there will be good 1 and 2 drops despite entire set going in battlecruiser direction.
These new retreats make me sad when compared to like white. Like how does white give all your creatures +1/+1 but red only give 1 +2/0? And blue... while repeated scry is nice it feels somwhat anti-synergistic with itself since by the time you get it going you most likely will be scrying most lands to the bottom
I'd hold back calling the Red one worse than White in a normal sense. White is very strong in its deck, but the Red one is just as strong in a R(/G)DW shell. Dropping this on turn 4 then dropping a land provides a lot of opportunities. EX: Monastery Swift Spear/Abbot of the Keral Keep activate Prowess, then you can make the opponent not block with their biggest creature forcing trades or even worse just getting damage through. If it is a control deck, that is even worse cause then you get extra damage. Another use that +2/+0 can provide is making a creature big enough that Flamewake Phoenix can come back from the grave for 1 Red. Hell that is even possible on the turn 4 I mentioned.
When Ugin's Insight resolves after Ugin, it's over. So much flavor interaction between those two cards. I'm an elder planeswalker. Jace, you may have ingenuity but I have full insight.
The white retreat is the best one. Making a dude can't be understated but the blue retreat is a control all-star. Especially for those late game fetches that aren't needed.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
The scry-draw spell is going in my edh deck but those retreats just seem way worse than the white one.
Retreat to Coralhelm is insane in control decks. Being able to either control your draws or tap down your opponent's creatures by following game actions, repeatedly, at such a low cost, is not an ability you should overlook.
I don't think control decks are interested in spending a card and 3 mana to scry 1 when they play a land. And they certainly are not interested in tapping down a creature for their turn only, essentially only removing a blocker.
It's getting me bummed out that these small eldrazi keep appearing in the set. They are trying to prevent 'battle cruiser' magic in draft, so the eldrazi aren't that intimidating anymore.
All these positive comments on Ugin's Insight when all I see is a worse Rush of Knowledge
Ugin's Insight is always a draw 3 at the minimum. If your last card in hand is Rush of Knowledge and your opponent board wipes you, you're just sad, whereas Ugin's Insight still refills your hand.

To be fair, it turns fetchlands into Icy Manipulators. Still, there's only a finite number of fetches in a given deck, and as you've said, a card and three mana is a lot to ask for an effect that dries up so quickly.

I feel like Ugin's Insight is going to just fade away once BFZ comes out and everyone remembers that their midrange deck can now play Treasure Cruise in its 4th color.

Nice catch on the reliquary combo. See how reliable it is.

Now what to do with infinite landfall triggers.. shush, Hedron Crab, I'm thinking here!
