I think this really cuts to the heart of the matter. I won't go so far as to say this set "sucks" or is "underpowered" or whatever, but I will definitely say that their choices for spoiler cards and the themes they are promoting are very unexpected and confusing.
I'll reserve final judgment till the whole set is spoiled but so far, it's absolutely atrocious. The Priceless Treasures gimmick is supposed to sell the set I suppose and now we see why they determined it was necessary because this is sub-Homelands sub-Born of the Gods territory. After Khans block and Origins were such bit hits, utterly blowing the next Zendikar set was the last thing I expected from Wizards...
I can't understand why the scry 3 isn't scry X, coverage the actual cost could still remain 5 to prevent abuse.
Just feels like a flavor fail and it will feel even worse if you ever get to the point of actually activating it, scrying 3 dead cards to the bottom only to whiff on the top deck. Yeah, feel bads all around.
On some cards I get the feeling they don't even try.
What troubles me the most about this card is that it completely ignores all the design rules R&D had supposedly put in place the last few years to better differentiate between Enchantments and Artifacts. This card is an Artifact. It doesn't matter what it says on the card, the activated abilities and counter theme, by R&D's recent definition, is an artifact.
The only thing that can justify this as a colored Enchantment is the thought that maybe they were afraid of shenanigans being pulled with it being colorless and an artifact. Still, that seems like a very, very long shot.
This card is simply awkward.

Idk, I get that this isn't a super sexy card but if you're running 5 color allies (assuming that ends up being a thing), this card seems like a nice way to secure an alpha strike. Being able to tap down 5 of their bigger things and swing in seems like a good way to either win on the spot or bring your opponent's life down by a fair margin. Couplee with March from the Tomb, I see this as a strong support card for that deck. Scry 3 is pretty strong if you're trying to get to that March or something that'll help you rebuild your board after multiple wipes.
So at best it's WUBRG for tap 5 creatures and a repeatable WUBRG to scry 3. That's disappointing. At the very least I would have hoped that the activation also added an extra counter.
This card is seriously missing: Landfall - Put a counter on ~
This is what bothers me about the card. There's no way to add counters to it when it feels like it should be included. It feels like *something* is missing. Even the ability to keep those creatures tapped as long as the hedron remains in play makes more sense. I'm guessing it had another ability, but it was cut due to power or text. As printed, it's just a weird, awkward Send to Sleep.
So they're pushing 5-color decks just as soon as Mana Confluence and Sylvan Caryatid are rotating out, with replacements for neither of them in sight. That's... kinda weird.
they're pushing a 5 color deck because how will you win without spending a bajillion dollars on a mana base. Wizards ir really trying to cuck us with these multicolor sets. I ******* hate multicolor sets. Every modern deck save one is already multi color why does standard have to be the same way?

These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

I really like this card. It's probably not great in eternal formats, but it seems a lot of fun. I'll keep looking for powerful cards, but this is a well designed card for the people like me who have "fun decks"

This is the best criticism of this card I've read. You're exactly right. I think it suffered from being in this set, where allies are colored? But the hedrons are artifacts... Hm.
Maybe the WURBG should have been draw 3 or at least Scry 3 and then draw a card.
Maybe we just don't have all the pieces of the puzzle but this card disappoints me too...maybe they're trying to pave the way for a neat 5 color draft deck or something.
Yeah, I don't usually reply on spoilers, but this was it for me... Regretting my preorder of 2 fat packs right now. At least the full arts might get some worth later on, because I can't imagine this set will be opened a lot...
Pulling this while cracking a pack is going to be painful. Probably a whole playset of this junk card in every booster box.

I don't get why everybody is harping on this card. It's obviously meant for limited, and we have very little information right now as to how powerful the different limited archetypes are going to be. Last I checked there are 9 commons revealed so far. 9. This could be a good limited card if the land block has a few different ways to fix your colors, or it could be trash. I don't get why everybody is in such a rush to pronounce this card as trash before we really know what the environment looks like

Because Trash card is trash.
5 mana of different colors to just Scry 3??? It may be used sparingly in Limited but once it rotates out it will just be another bulk junk card that you can buy from the 10 cent box that nobody wants. A couple of tweaks and this could have been a decent card. Even without knowing the remainder of the set it just seems weak. My opinion and nothing more. I've said it about lots of cards in the past and they still suck to this day. This has the same markings in my eyes. Time will tell I suppose. I'm not asking for every card to be a world beater. It just seems like Wizards goes out of their way to water down and weaken many cards for no other apparent reason than to limit power creep. I and I think others wish this card would have had a little more "teeth".

So every excuse for a abd card is Limited then....
It's true, every card that's bad in Constructed is good in Limited. Even Search the City.
This card is trash even if it ETBed with 5 counters regardless of how many colors you paid for it. Or if you straight up drew a card instead of scrying (see: Treasure Trove). There's so many ways to tweak it into a strictly better card, but all of those new cards would still be terrible, which goes to show how bad the base card is.
Every time I look at this card I can't wrap my head around how bad it is. I don't understand how wizards thought this was acceptable in any way. A card that is absolutely 110% garbage last pick in limited and just as bad in constructed and EDH is made a rare inexplicably.
IF you can reliable get it for at least 4 colors, the card is at least fine in Limited.
tapping 4 times is good, especially over 4 turns tapping down a creature or tap down all blockers to get in with a full-attack is quite nice. Then if you reach the super-late game, the scry will help you to avoid any dead draws and find something to win with.
But all that makes the card just "fine" and it badly demands that you actual get at least 4 colors.
So all stands and dies with how viable a 4-5 color deck actual is in Limited ; probably not too much, unless we get some useful common lands or other means of mana fixing that isnt rare.
Exhibit A: this card.
