This card is actually very decent for a RW EDH commander. RW combination tends to get little support in card advantage. With this guy, you get an aggressive commander that also gives you card advantage by giving you the chance to keep up with your momentum. Red has been given lots of cards to draw while artifacts can easily cover the rest of card advantage. Sure this guy is not a degenerate legendary creature that allows infinite loops but it's not trash material.

The only way you can even stack your deck is with RW allies and there really aren't enough to support that in a 100 card singleton format. As far as RW Commanders go I'd rate them like this:
#1 - All of them but this guy.
#2 - This guy.
Consistency is powerful, and in an Ally deck, it's deadly. People thought Scry wasn't going to have a huge impact, and this is no different. A 3/4 Ally with haste for 4 is plenty good. Digging for Allies and guaranteeing you won't get mana flooded in the late game is spectacular.
I think people are underestimating this.
Allies will be a thing 4 mana and casting this means I no longer draw land i wont get flooded.
Its an ally it triggers all the other rally stuff it can attack the turn it comes into play.
4 mana and immediate impact 4 toughness this card is really good
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
I think some people here are potentially underestimating this guy in constructed. Naya CoCo allies that tops out at 4 CMC with a bunch of 1-3 cost allies would make this guy borderline broken once you get to 5 mana, as you can set up perfect CoCo's indefinitely and chain rally effects.
It all depends on getting cheaper allies than we have seen though.
BFZ continues to print things that seem like market research gone awry. "People like allies, and want an ally commander!" And then they proceed to design one that is useless in Modern and useless in Commander. Wonderful, guys, thanks. I guess it's the thought that counts.
Strong in Limited, though, and has interesting utility if allies ends up as a standard deck, but still. Such fail.
As someone who actually plays Mardu Allies in modern I must totally disagree with you. This is perfect for my Mardu Allies deck, it goes perfectly along side dark confidant to set up your draws, and allows some digging for ondu cleric and kabira evangel. Furthermore its body is perfect for modern, 4 CMC dodges abrupt decay and 3/4 dodges lightning bolt, and to add it even has haste which is arguably the strongest mechanic in the game.
How could people say this should draw you a card? That would be nuts, because the ability triggers whenever any Ally ETBs, and the ability guarantees that will be happening at least once every turn....

Just by having him or an ally enter the battlefield, I can get more creatures. For a RW EDH commander, I see that as card advantage. I acknowledge that there isnt enough allies at the moment. However, that does not mean there wI'll never be more allies of the appropriate color

I hope you've read the card thoroughly. You put those allies you "found" on top of your library. It's a freaking legendary Augury Owl.
No way it's card advantage.

Should be a MR and any of the Mythics be rare, this way i would not care at all actually would be happy to open a good Eldrazi at rare...
Could have been way cooler. Add an Double Strike and it would be fine, add first strike and vigilance he would be cool , put one of the allies on hand he should be a not too good but good card. As he is i think i will be throwing hin at people and be like "free garbage get em"

I don't think it's great, but it's not bad, either. Sure, this doesn't net you cards, but it does make sure that the cards you do draw are more valuable than random draws from your deck.
This is called virtual card advantage, and when repeated is a very powerful effect
(I mean heck, in the strict sense of the word Birthing Pod isn't card advantage either, but it was still good enough to get banned....)

yes i read the card clearly. im not blind. as i have stated before, for a RW EDH commander, its card advantage since RW rarely gets any form of card advantage. does it matter if they end up on the top of the library? just draw them out. the fact that this card filters the top of the deck makes it great for RW.

I don't think you are using the term "card advantage" correctly. You gain no cards here. It filters, sure. But as you are obviously aware of RW has a hard time "just draw[ing] them out." This guy does not generate any card advantage whatsoever.
Well this was the chance for RW to get some card advantage, aka draw/put to hand/whatever, but we got "virtual" card advantage as some has mentioned.
I really hope it plays out better than I expect (currently Owl-level, and I'm not expecting much. Perhaps it'd be better this way when he overperforms. lol
Once you have this, you are committed to pretty much only casting allies for the rest of the game. If it was scry 4, it would be fantastic. If it was scry 2, I think I'd like it better.

I know! As I was reading it I was thinking that it was going to be something like Preeminent Captain where he brought Allies in tapped and attacking. Because that's what this card wants to be (yeah yeah, I know Rally isn't a attack trigger, but whatever).
Reanimate sucks cause it needs cards like Entomb to work.

By the time he shows up, the ambush is already happening, thus the haste. It just so happens that the ambushes are attacking in a neat conga line.
Yes because that wouldn't be a buh-roken card advantage engine.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)
