I don't like them either, not one of them so far. I don't like the frame, I don't like the weird text box and I'm not too impressed with the art either. I've been a bit wary to express it because it can be interpreted as jealousy or denial, since theye are going to be incredibly rare and expensive, but that's not it. There's a lot of rare and expensive stuff out there that I want, and some of it I'll sometimes end up getting - I'm a huge dog for foils (particularly strategically picked cards, like shocks for fetching or stuff with flashback or key cards of the deck), game day full art promos (like Stasis Snare) and FNM promos, but these I feel absolutely no attraction towards.
Then again, I don't like textless promos or Un- basics either, so go ahead and call heresy.
If you guys don't like them, don't pay attention to them. As far as they go, they should look like the full art promos with text in an open box so you can see the full art. What's the point of making a landscape if half of it isn't shown?

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
I can't wait to trade these for... anything I want. The world needs card snobs, and I have a trade for you lol. How many Snappies did you say you have?

Hate to say this, but these are not full art. To call them full art is an insult to real full-art cards. You can barely see through the opaque white text box. REAL full art is like the basics, or any of the number of real full-art cards they released over the past 15 years. Wizards is playing people for fools by calling it that.

Its like its the fact that its in a standard card that it cant just say Arid Mesa at the top... like it should. Its a shame.
I do like the Steam Vents one at least. Those should be easy 150-200 bucks
I need to see this card in foil! This is where unicorns go when they are about to die, I'm pretty sure! They'll become pink gooish stuff and will be reborn.
Everyone here is not liking the art, and I am like, "Purple is my favorite color." If no one wants this, I'll GLADLY trade it off of you. Haha! I might have to build a commander deck to pimp out now.
Wizards is banking on the fact that most of their American consumer base doesn't know enough about landforms to recognize that a strand is a shoreline or beach. This is some sort of levitating waterfall. However, it's probably an improvement over the other two Flooded Strand artworks: the Onslaught one looks like a 4th edition swamp someone left bleaching in the sun for a few years and the Khans one looks like a dragon died on the default wallpaper for Windows XP.

These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

Not all of these are great but the amount of vitriol hurled at them by the typical entitled petulant user base of MTGS is really something else to behold
Not liking the frame or that the text box is solid rather than see through are perfectly legitimate and sensible arguments but this whole "WotC must think we are dumb" or "these are disgustingly disguting and vomit-inducing" is just so indicative of why most people have a negative opinion of the typical MtG player
Especially the whole "why can't this just be a bland and boring shoreline? How insulting" is moronic... This is the plane of ridiculous landscapes and you want them to have basic land art style on the pimpest of pimp carda they've made for a Standard set EVER? Are you sure WotC is wrong about the intelligence level of the average user? Those kinds of comments make me think that they aren't.
I was hoping that the fetches would all have random planes walkers in them like arid Mesa with the person who looks like elspeth in the background. Well I'll keep hoping for the rest of the Zen fetches.
This is my take: Either I open one that I plan to use (Tarn/Strand/Mesa or Vents/Foundry/Fountain) and actually use it, or I open any of the others and immediately sell it. I have no intention of buying any of them, so if I open one, it's nothing but upside. Either I play with a cool promo card, or cash in for big bank.

That's like saying when someone asks you to draw a dragon and you draw a space cruiser "Would you rather have me draw a stupid lame earthworm?"
No, I wouldn't, because that's not what I asked for.
Also I utterly detest the notion that artwork can only be interesting if it has "ALL THE CRAZIES" written all over it in neon letters.

Gurl.
This land looks like a marshmallow exploded. Let's not pretend like these are suddenly John Avon works just because they're rare. A shoreline with taste is better than slobbering virtual paint inside a gaudy border. These are terribad and the foil will make an eyesore.
All of the negativity in this thread is making me wonder whether my partial color blindness is making the art look better to me than it does to "normal" people. I still think it looks amazing and wish I could afford a playset.
Which is great since I can't afford them

Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.
Doomsdayin'
Also, apparently Zendikar doesn't have any beaches. Go figure.
Edit: Ok, maybe it's more of a rocky shoreline than a beach...
