Ingest does nothing. Future synergy is possible but a 2 mana 1/1 isn't going to get there even if they don't want to block it because of deathtouch. You might as well have Typhoid Rats as I think others have already pointed out.
I'd be very surprised if this was good. It just doesn't have the efficiency. Needed to be a bear or a flying man, not a rat.
It costs more than 0 mana, doesn't draw 5 cards on ETB, and can't win the game on your opponents turn. It's totally garbage, I wouldn't even waste a clothes pin on it for my huffy.
Eldrazi decks had better have some better ways to ramp in constructed. I mean, if this is supposed to be one of the better low drops in the deck, mono red decks are going to just mop the floor with them.
For constructed it is hard not to see this card as something like: pay 7 cmc, deal 3 damage (unblocked attacks turn 3, 4, 5,) draw a card, and exile the top 3 cards of opponents library. Would that card seem playable in constructed? For control at best. I'm wondering if the format is going to dramatically slow down.
From what I've seen and heard, Allies are going to be a serious thing in constructed. And they aren't slow. I think that Eldrazi are once again going to be more popular among the casual crowds than the competitive Standard scene.
???
Mono Green Eldrazi was a tier 1 deck until Scars block came out.
About the card, I've too echo everyone's opinion that so far they just don't make any sense.
I really love the art and I'm pretty sure the foil would be sweet. I find the keywords stacked into one card to be interesting. Since we know that there's going to be emphasis on the exiled zone, it's too early to completely dismiss it. Even though the stats makes it die to ping damage, the deathtouch would make it easy for swings in an early game while it's draw function makes it useful for long games, in which the eldrazi would most likely not attack. Either way, it's a good mana sink for mill edhs.
That is a LOT of work to draw a card, deal 1 damage and ingest one card. You just sold me on it NEVER bein viable no matter what support it gets. The tradition of bad UB cards continues, shock.

You no need attack with it, know that? When you got scavenger and training grounds, you can have it sit at home, activate its ability to exile-mill 1 and draw 1. It is deathtouch so it dissuades attacks because it trade up-up.
Since the Eldrazi is clearly opening a door, I like to think it's bursting in on this thread saying "YOU TALKIN' SMACK 'BOUT ME!? YOU DON'T KNOW ME. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I BEEN THROUGH. YOU DON'T KNOW MY SET. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I CAN ACCOMPLISH."

You're still sinking 2 cards, 3 turns, 7 mana to draw 1 for four mana a turn, which is open to electrolyze among other things that sees plenty of play. Why not just play tasigur to get the same card advantage on an easily arguably better body? This would need to be in a shell that somehow REALLY benefits from ingest and devoid to be good. Not saying it couldn't happen but my hopes for that aren't high. Maybe some sorta aggro mill deck but if that's the case there's things I would rather be doing. A 1/2 body would have at least changed my opinion on this somewhat.
Could people stop using the phrase "strictly worse" when they don't know what it means? Hint: it doesn't mean "a lot worse than."
This is the only MTG site I frequent where this is a thing even. "Strictly strictly strictly strictly strictly strictly strictly strictly strictly" all the freaking time. Season with some mentions of your EDH nonsense, because every just has to know you play EDH.
I've seen people even say Strictly like they really just HAD to put some emphasis on it. I could hear their lisp through my monitor. THTRICTLY! And then they wipe the spittle off of their neckbeard.
Anyway, this card isn't interesting to me at least. You guys have fun in Limited with this dude.

Oh me know your kind now. You wouldn't be satisfied until it was absurdly strong. Me think-think you expect too much. Me think-think your kind are the type always pushing for power creep. Never satisfied with what one gets. Even if it were 1/2, you still wouldn't be satisfied because you just complain how it die to something else. When presented with alternative methods to make it workable, you just say "it take to much effort". You part of the 90% on these boards during every-every rumor season who come up with some poor excuse on why card be bad. 90% composed of trolls and short-sighted people. New set barely revealed? Better start up a thread to complain about it.

Just noting it is 3 mana for the activation with training grounds on the battlefield
Man solid defense of the card. You sure got me. It's good in limited and that's it, which is fine for a card. Just don't spout nonsense on how to make it work in modern. It's not about having it be the next Tarmogoyf, but throwing UB a freaking bone after screwing the color combo for years would have been nice. There's other cards in this set I DO have high hopes for. This just isn't one of them. And if I only cared about over powered cards in modern do you REALLY think I woulda devoted years of my life to death and taxes? Making otherwise unplayable cards work is pretty much what that deck does.
I'm not sold this will be a thing in Standard, but if the format is as slow as can be expected in order for Eldrazi to be viable, then the draw ability ought to be quite good. They'll need to make some powerful and cheap Processors for this to have a chance in constructed.
...And if I only cared about over powered cards in modern do you REALLY think I woulda devoted years of my life to death and taxes? Making otherwise unplayable cards work is pretty much what that deck does.
My favorite thing about blue Eldrazi is that they end up looking even more like bizarre deep-ocean creatures.
I think this is a cool design and further cements UB as being where Ingest is most firmly anchored, to no one's surprise. I want to start seeing some more Processors, though, to give me more reasons to want to ingest.

Have you even read the stuff sheepz posts usually? I don't want to speak for him, but he usually tends to defend cards that are outright marked as unplayable crap by others. This card is a fine casual UB card, it's not going to revolutionize any magic format whatsoever and thats ok.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
...And if I only cared about over powered cards in modern do you REALLY think I woulda devoted years of my life to death and taxes? Making otherwise unplayable cards work is pretty much what that deck does.
Poor example.
It gets the rare win. Yes it's not a brew. But you have to stretch pretty far to even claim its tier 2.
I think it's time people step back and go "Whoa, wait, it's a digital image of a piece of cardboard in a set for a card game that I won't even have access too for another two to three weeks. There's better things in the world to get angry about."
And that goes for both sides of the "power level" dispute.

I mean in the sense that Death & Taxes is a fairly competitive deck and its not top tier like you said but also that the cards in it are not as unplayable anymore because its actually become a fairly competitive deck. You could have left it with as:
It's not about having it be the next Tarmogoyf, but throwing UB a freaking bone after screwing the color combo for years would have been nice.
make it 3/3 and i play it
make it 2/2 flying and i play it
make the ability 3 mana and i play it
hell, even when he would be 1/3 i would consider playing it
but this... why is this rare ? just cause it has so many keywords ? this set keeps spoiling one crap rare after another
Are you insane? they would never print a UB 3/3 with deathtouch and ingest and that ability it would be absurdly overpowered. I don't know if you noticed but they don't print creatures that efficient outside of white and green, let alone in blue. They thought delver sucked, so don't try that argument. Same with 2/2 and adding flying. Maybe a 2/2 or a 1/3 and those abilities I agree would have been fine, but 3/3? No way
Overall I think its not going to go anywhere, but I want to be wrong, I like it. Just don't think it's quite good enough at 1/1. And it's rare for a couple reasons, keeping deathtouch out of a battle cruiser format and complexity according to NWO.
I swear I first read it as Wingbonger...something tells me that "As Long as Wingbonger is paired with another creature, both creatures have weed." wouldn't be as good. Seems solid for limited.
I'd be very surprised if this was good. It just doesn't have the efficiency. Needed to be a bear or a flying man, not a rat.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
