There are 25 of these special land reprints, correct? So what are the other 20 cards? These reprints are part of 45 cards according to the bottom, soooo...
Wow, gorgeous art, but what's with the border? Are all of the going to have a border like this one?
The border is to signify the Zendikari Expeditions. All the cards in that "set" will have that border, meaning the new duals, shocks, fetches, and whatever else they reprint in Oath.
I'm just not a fan of these. The border is neat, but I can't stand that ugly grey text box (don't know why they didn't make it like the Gameday full art promos or at least use the usual dual-colored textbox but make it very light and transparent) and as others have mentioned, the colors in the art are too bland. Very hard to tell it's supposed to be a color-producing land.
Honestly, this promo frame is terrible, especially considering it's the marketing gimmick for BFZ.
The white of the textbox is so strong that it might as well not be full-art, since we can barely see the art. In which case, putting the type-line back where it usually is, you could then have the textbox be lower, down to where that leftover textured rectangle at the bottom is, thus showing more art. The rune-texture is cool in concept, but too bright and flat.
They should have done this:
Of course, considering how rare the promo version is... they could have just left it textless. A new player only needs to learn two cards (any fetchland, any shockland) to know them all.
I must be in the minority, but I like the art. I like what they did with the concept, but I guess it shows how reprinting some lands with "generic names" can still be difficult for certain settings.
I really do not understand why people dislike the hedron-rune borders, I think they look very ancient and mysterious. Plus they will look fantastic in foil.
I would like them, but the isolated rectangle jutting out of the bottom looks really awkward. Also the lack of color identification in the text box is pretty unfortunate.

The rest of the cycle will be in Oath. We don't know what they will be yet.
Have they ever done that before? Having a numbered series of promo cards spanning 2 sets?
And are the 20 Expedition cards in Oath also going to be powerful lands from cycles?
I like the art because it fits with the theme of the dead land left behind by the eldrazi. Based on the stories of uncharted realms, eldrazi leave the land white and bleak. However, the rules text ruins the image for me. The card would look better if it was a full art. I like the frame and I still wouldn't mind getting it if I can.

I think it'll be more cycles of land, but I'm not entirely sure. Forget how much information they actually gave out at PAX.
I know this isn't the best place to post this, but I'm also not sure where or to whom to post this but....
Have any of the site admins/mods considered adding a spoiler list for the expeditions similar to BFZ so the arts could be compiled together for easy viewing?

I'm dissapointed but not because I don't like the art because I actually do. But there is a picture without a card so far with statues of Gods inspired by the titans that don't exist, hence a Godless Shrine. I might have shelled out the cash for one of those based on the flavor win alone. However this blasted landscape although well drawn doesn't look like much.
What other land cycles are there that compare to the fetches and shocks but aren't totally busted?
Personally I'm hopeing for checklands (my favorite duel lands) and manlands seem like a flavorful fit.

I guess the names are so intrinsically linked with the Ravnica settings for me.
I was thinking like this at first but then remembered the countless full art mockups that proxi makers have made of these lands and how a good chunk of those really looked spot-on despite the art used not being actualy painted with that purpose.
Then I realized the problem isn't in the names, the problem is Zendikar. Zendikar is an ugly plane with no enviromental diversity.
Before the eldrazi it was a murderhobo playground and we all know D&D is about what happens during the trip, not about where the trip takes us. After the eldrazi it just got worse.
Not a fan of this one at all; it looks like it should produce colorless mana. I get absolutely no WB vibe off any part of this card, art, frame, etc..
These things feel so hit-or-miss. I still say THE best thing about the original shocklands was they let the same artist (Rob Alexander) do all ten. It gives them a real resonance (and consistency!) as a set that the RTR ones really lacked, as do these.

These would look so much better. They could have went one step further and reduced the height of the text box. That could have easily been done on the Shocks. Not sure on the wording of Fetches/New Lands off the top of my head, but I assume the size of the box was kept the same across all lands. OR! They are doing the other 5 new lands and 15 non-land cards next round!?
Five of the new allied Tangolands.
Ten fetchlands. Ten shocks.
UTeferi, Temporal ArchmageU's prison: blue is the new orange is the new black.
Mizzix Of The Izmagnus : wheels on fire... rolling down the road...
BSidisi, Undead VizierB: Bis zum Erbrechen
GTitiania, Protector Of ArgothG: Protecting Argoth, by blowing it up!
GYisan, The Wanderer BardG: Gradus Ad Elfball.
Duel EDH: Yisan & Titania.
In Progress: Grand Arbiter Augustin IV duel; Grenzo, Dungeon Warden Doomsday.

Reanimate sucks cause it needs cards like Entomb to work.

My Guess is Filters being one half of the other 20, then perhaps manlands and.........fastlands?
