I love that they made it a proper deck box with dice compartment and everything, that's a good attendance bonus. Here's hoping that it's as sturdy as it looks.
I wonder what Ultra Pro thinks about this move. They can't be too happy about it.

I've been re-thinking about it, and given that it contains 6 boosters + inserts, it surely can hold a full 60 + sideboard sleeved deck. 6 boosters is 90 cards, and boosters are wider than cards.
I'm going to guess (best case) sturdy laminated cardboard, like those board game boxes or good limited edition CD box sets. And I'd be surprised if it didn't fit a single sleeved 75, but probably not much more.

Probably in line with those 'deck boxes' you get in fat packs.
Looks more like the packaging for an Event Deck to me.
Yeah, it looks almost exactly like the last event deck package/deck box.
Either way, it's a pretty neat little bonus for coming to the event, and I'm glad to see them do it. Even if it's not something I'm personally likely to use, I have friends who play casually that always come to prereleases and I'm sure they'll love it.
Those old prerelease boxes were a mess on so many different levels. They took a lot of space on the already crowded tables, they were filled with big pieces of paper that 95% of players didn't care about and just left on the tables, further taking space. The box itself was awkward to store your sideboard because the cards would just fly from one row to another, and if you used the dice in the middle, the two paper dividers in the middle would fold inward, making the box even more useless to hold cards.
I'll be very happy to be handed a compact and practical prerelease box. I'll need to see the box itself before I can tell if I'll use it for fnm, but at the very least it will make the prerelease experience a lot less messy.
Stores will at least be glad no pre-release trashed containers. Also, I am sure some people will be glad there are no seeded packs.
Seeded packs were an interesting experience, and I think they make sense for some sets (like ravnica, where picking a guild was a lot of fun), but they really over did it. I am glad to be going back to no seeds, at least for awhile.
Instead of a prerelease experience where I have some control over what I play and what promo I get, I get a cheap cardboard box. The prerelease is no longer special, it is just sealed with a die, a box and a random promo. I'm sitting out.

When one of the six packs was seeded, it was not fun for everyone. You may have picked green, put opened a pool poor in green. But then, 1/6 of your pool is pretty much useless. Then there was also the problem of repetitive gameplay. Every Mardu player I was against at Fate Reforged had Ponyback Brigade because the seeded packs automatically lack diversity.
I expect they will have pre-release side events, like Dragonfury. Could still be fun. And you get to play your promo! That was not always the case.
You may not be happy, but they made the changes in response to large-scale complaints. It also solves the problem stores had when one color was much stronger than the others (or much weaker). Things like running out of white after the first event and making everyone take blue for the last one were frustrating for players and stores.

In my day Prerelease was 6 packs and a promo you couldn't even use, and was a lesson in deckbuilding.
I was a fan of the "choose your experience" pre-release, but I welcome this change. As a long time player, all I hear is "we've decided to backpedal, but you can still play with your pre-release promos."
My friends (who own a card store) were less than happy about the logistical nightmare of everyone wanting the same colors.
Seeded boosters make some sense for worlds like Alara, Ravnica, and Tarkir, and should return for returns to those worlds, but this should remain the standard.

Yes, they heard the complaints, but did they hear those of us that liked it. Seems kind strange that after the really good set up for Magic Origins, they just gave up. I'm hoping this is just a Battle for Zendikar thing because there would only be two factions. Then again, Mirrodin Beseiged started the whole thing and there were only two factions there.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Do we have any indication whether we are going to be able to play with the pre release foil (In the sealed event I mean?)

Yes. That's the whole point of giving out different ones. You can play with everything in your box.
