I just remembered now that being the foil rare of the Intro Pack means the cards are using alternate art...
Since I collect (1-of) Colorless Foil Eldrazi cards and consider alternate art to be a different card... this will mark the 2nd and 3rd times I would have to buy Intro Packs, since I don't buy cards online and it's hard to get find these alternate art in packaged deck cards just sitting in binders most of the time. (The first time I got an Intro Pack was for the same reason, but for a different collection, the Temur War Shaman for my Raymond Swanland collection. Likewise, I got the recent Duel Decks for the Oblivion Sower, although a foil Avenger of Zendikar for EDH did help a lot of providing more value for me.)
YESSSS, KIORA, right?
Question to long-time players: Has it ever happened that a character shown on a booster-pack has not been an actual card from the set? No, right?
There have been instances where the card ended up being very different than expected (Arena Athlete comes to mind),
but a close-up image like this is 95-100% proof of Kiora as a PW card.

Gorgeous Kiora art! Where den haters saying she won't be here? Where dey?
Her PW card better have the Bident.
Calm down.
It was a wholly reasonable conclusion from the knowledge of three walkers in BFZ and the fact that we were given Nissa's art in the first taste of BFZ.

I hope she costs at least 5- GU is frequently about expensive stuff.
It would be cool to get a Kiora which reflects that
Yep, that would be cool. GU in particular is a color-combination that's way too dominant at the moment, in Standard as well as in Modern. It really needs more of the cards to be unplayable to give the other colors a chance as well. BG in particular needs WAY more support, in particular the color combinations Jund and Abzan.
The Bident of Thassa didn't have much to do with gaining control of creatures, Kiora was trying to make her own bonds with the creatures of the deep. The forced attack part of it isn't particularly green either, so I would expect something about drawing cards with creatures, as that is a main area of overlap for those colors.
Are they not ever going to do the recyclable packaging again?
Drowner of Hope kind of bothers me. Why doesn't it allow you to sacrifice any other colorless creature? Why did it have to be solely Scions? I can imagine Drowner of Hope to be an absurd limited bomb however. It breaks through stalemates and gives you a shot at bringing out your bigger guy in for cheaper. Its just that the Scion only bit that doesn't sit right with me.
I kind-of agree with that. It's not like Scion would be busted if it were "sac a colorless creature" instead. Anyway, a great limited pick, for sure.

The set about the Eldrazi
It's really not complicated
If the card read "sacrifice a colourless creature" then people would automatically assume we're getting artifact creatures and then people will assume one of them wants to be in the graveyard or has a die trigger etc...
Considering how big this guy is and that tapping doesn't even require mana this guy is going to end games more often than not I think
Option 4, no protections, no evasion, no real and worthy effect (oh yeah tapping a creature by sacrificing one of the body, the body will generally be more useful...)
For 6 we have wurmcoil wurm, all the titans (al far better than... that.) and a lot of rare card with a ccm of 6 that are far more powerful than this and do not even see play, i'm not high, this card is just bad that's all.
I'm not even talking about the 5ccm cards, a lot of them are better than this eldrazi in constructed (starting by thragtusk.)
Well, he's probably not as good as titans, but you're missing some of the versatility this card offers.
- U instead of UU to cast.
- 5/5 body plus 2 1/1 bodies = 7/7, which is better than one 6/6 body (see Doom Blade)
- sacs scions for mana. That's at least 2 mana available instantly rather than a green titan who brings tapped land into play. Also, ramp in blue.
- Sacing a scion to cancel a blocker, or avoid a deathly attack also can occur at instant speed now. Without tapping for mana, or turning blue titan sideways
- Wurmcoil is still better, I agree, BUT since Wurmcoil is an artifact creature it's potentially destroyed & exiled by more spells.
I think this creature is good, and constructed playable.

lots of the other cards already spoiled say sacrifice a colorless creature so it would have made sense to continue that.
Also it still blows my mind that people want every card printed to be a constructed home run. It literally cannot work like that. Even if they tried there would still be some better than others.

Yes it's a limited card (a good one at that), why is that so offensive to you? Especially since they've openly admitted that the Titans were a huge mistake and Wurmcoil Engine is basically the colorless Titan. Not every card has to be top tier competitive. The Titans are among the best creatures ever printed, random intro pack rares most definitely should not come even close to them in power level.
I swear I first read it as Wingbonger...something tells me that "As Long as Wingbonger is paired with another creature, both creatures have weed." wouldn't be as good. Seems solid for limited.

True.
It's definitely a Limited bomb, if played correctly. I think that people are probably missing some of the timing intricacies that can make this card a real game-ender in Limited.
It still confuses me why this is an intro pack rare. I don't think this is the kind of card that's going to trigger impulse buys from new players in the checkout line at Target.
I think the biggest misstep of this card (and of most of the other Eldrazi spoiled so far) is that it's making me nostalgic for the relative simplicity of EldraziSpawn.

It was a wholly reasonable conclusion from the knowledge of three walkers in BFZ and the fact that we were given Nissa's art in the first taste of BFZ.
I would have concluded it was Gideon/Nissa/Kiora based on that, though, not Gideon/Nissa/Ob or whatever people were thinking. (I'm still surprised that Ob is going to be in this set and not the surprise second act villain in the next set, though maybe he is storyline-wise and they just have him here based on design/development constraints.)
edit: oh god, I just realized the eldrazi even has the same 'blue ability' they gave the rare zendikari sphinx. Perhaps that is intentional, to show how the good guys and the bad guys accomplish the same general ability, but it's pretty annoying to see them both at rare. I wonder if it originally did something more interesting and got nerfed down during development. based on the name, I could see it putting permanents on top of libraries (which is really busted if reusable)
BfZ is going to be so full of cards like drowner of hope this that calling it a bomb is a bit disingenuous. I'm not going to be windmill slamming it and high-fiving my neighbors because I pulled it. There's going to be uncommons I would take over it I'm sure.
Drowner of Hope seems alright. 7 power for 6 cmc is pretty nice, especially spread out among 3 creatures, and those creatures can be sacrificed for two different options.
Now that we can pretty much say Ob is getting a walker card thanks to the packaging, do people think it is safe to predict that the duel deck if they even do that anymore will be a Gideon Vs. Ob? Yeah, I know really early speculation, but it is the one VS. that makes sense for BFZ so far. I guess they could always do a dual deck pitting one walker from the 1st block against one from the 2nd block now that we have 2 blocks a year.

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
Yes it's BG I think, considering it's ordered as the color pie always is.
And I thought there was a pretty strong case for Kiora having a new card in this block... though I suppose it's MTGS' inclination to doubt everything, except for "confirming" fetches based on the tiniest evidence. Go figure.
Hopefully her card doesn't suck too much, G/U has next to no presence competitively right now. One card won't change that, but hey. And I'm unsure whether she should be higher cmc to offer some stronger abilities, or lower cmc to reflect her merfolk-ness. Eeek

Too bad though they kept plastic packaging, was hoping they'd eventually go greener with the cardboard boosters.

still, an ability that says "Sacrifice an Eldrazi:" has the weirdly small effect of "Tap target creature"
that just doesn't seem right... lol.
