Hmm, really did not expect to see Ob in this set. I was thinking he'd be in set 2 as sort of a "surprise" villain after the heroes think they have figured out the eldrazi thing. Or that he'd be getting his spark back specifically because of the events in set 1.
If this turns out to be real, its incredible boring planeswalker.
It does absolute nothing spectacular at all.
Agreed. Nice card in terms of playability as the first and second abilities are almost always going to be good and come at a fair price. He'll see plenty of play in Standard unless RDW is the flavor of the week (he loses a lot of value against red aggro, but against all of the G/x midrangy decks running around he looks great). But overall it just feels kind of generic.
I agree with Narvuntian. I think the main reason vraska didn't see much competitive play was due to her horrid first ability. She had 1 horrid ability and 1 awesome one. Ob Nixilis has 2 solid effects that every black deck likes to see. I believe he is superior to both Liliana Vess and Vraska and will probably see more standard play then the other 2 walkers . Modern is probably out of the question.
Agreed. Protects himself and ticks UP to gain card advantage. That's a powerful engine I definitely expect to see some play as a 1-2 of in Standard.
This Ob could be a control finisher. You play him, kill a threat. Then you plus him, using all your control cards to control the board. When you ultimate him, you have answers in hand to anything your opponent could top-deck. Then you keep on controlling the board until the opponent bleeds out.
No midrange deck will ultimate him, but in control, he is removal, card advantage and win in one package.

Yeah, I think he checks the boxes for a playable walker.
Protects self (destroy creature)
Card advantage (draw card)
Wins game by himself (emblem EVENTUALLY kills them)
He's the most generic walker I've ever seen if his abilities are right though.
Someone on reddit found posters on wotc's website with Ob Nixilis Reignited and Kiora, Master of the Depths. No more info on the actual card yet though.

Except his ultimate is so much better. It's whenever a player draws. That's 4 to the face minimum over the course of a turn. If you drop another other or he survives, his plus 1 adds another 2 to the face. His ultimate quickly wins games.
