The eldrazi really lost their pizazz. They dont really feel like a real threat any more. Its closer to the scale of phyrexia. Pretty bummed about that.
Was annihilator THAT bad? I dont think any experienced player could really call it game breaking. I remember thinking that the planeswalkers were out matched, but now it seems like the Eldrazi are, easily.
I don't like the rares. Is that weird? I feel like they're not scary.
Honestly I never had a problem with Annihilator. For their mana costs, I thought it was justified. If you cast an 8 mana monster from the blind eternities then let it do something powerful.

I don't know that it's that bad. Exiling your library then using the stuff they exiled as fuel to ramp harder is pretty in flavor for beings that are supposed to be all consuming, and it will absolutely play havoc with draws, making every blue player twist a bit (I know I'm trying to figure out what the counterplay to this is). If you let an annihilator Eldrazi get to the combat step, you basically lost all semblance of board advantage by virtue of it just swinging. It's certainly something that can be dealt with, particularly if you can be proactive about not letting them swing, but it's counter to Wizards' current philosophy of limiting how oppressive abilities can be.
I'm surprised ingest triggers on combat damage, it seems it would not be that strong triggering on attack and would be closer to annihilate was templated.
Blight Herder is so strong!!!! a 4/5 and three 1/1's that you can sacrifice for mana if you can make it work, and you get the 1/1s even if blight herder itself is countered, which is amazing. The one question is: how easy will it be to make this work in standard?
Very interesting that it returns cards from your opponent's exile back to their graveyard. Nice use as a resource! Also interesting it is a Processor type and produces Eldrazi Scions instead of spawn. I wonder why it's not spawn?
I can't believe on the Eldrazi Processor that the tokens are 1/1. 5 mana for 7 power spreads across four creatures. I'm sure there will be an easier enabler of Ingest. Just got to wait for it.

I mean, annihilator was particularly a problem for limited, because having it available even at common made the entire format warp around who could get their eldrazi out first.
However, I agree that these guys just... aren't interesting. Besides being big, neither of these Eldrazi feel like... well... Eldrazi. They just feel like big-ish creatures (Most of these "true" eldrazi aren't even particularly big. A 5/3 Eldrazi? What? Since when were Eldrazi as wimpy as that? Since when did the Eldrazi get so weak that a single rhino is able to hold off said Eldrazi indefinitely?). If this is indicative of what Eldrazi will be like throughout the entire set, it's going to be pretty disappointing :\
I kind of wish they had made ingest (or some kind of keyword that only showed up on true eldrazi) a keyword that let you exile a creature blocking the eldrazi if you paid a prerequisite cost. Then at least it would feel dangerous to go up against them in a head on fight.

Gotta grab your food before you can snack it. Besides, Grixis Eldrazi looks kind of scary. Potentially having a flying/haste ingest creatures with presumably mutliple ways to feed off that exile makes for some scary thoughts. Also the Eldrazi's interaction with delve is terrifying. Dig Through Time may become incredibly dangerous to the user.

but for real I actually like this card the most so far, the rares spoiled seem alright so far, but there's still a ton to see spoiled we haven't even begun to see yet
Also: Villainous Wealth has nothing to do with this. It only gets what it hits with it's own effect.
But the Eldrazi can use what you didn't cast with Villainous Wealth.
I keep waiting to see some white or green Eldrazi. Maybe they're centered in Grixis this time? With UB control and BR aggro sub-archetypes for limited?

I think Kunfusion is referring to how Villainous Wealth can be used as a way to make cards like Blight Herder live.
