Gideon will be like a 1-2 of in many modern decks. Making 2/2 soldiers, and being an anthem is important in some decks.
In zoo, 4/4 nactals, 5/5 smiters, etc. In control, he is very hard to deal with unless your are UWR, otherwise you need a d sphere. He is also a clock when you are grinding out the game as a 5/5 himself, as a very iconic ability.
Ulamog is still good despite abzan charm.
Titan's presence will see 100% play in EVERY DECK besides control and mono red.
I like them. I like that they aren't something that always CIPT (glares menacingly at the scry lands)... yeah, you have to have 2+ basic lands out first, but still... I LOVE that they have the basic land types, and thus are fetchable the most.
Excited about the full art duals. I'm probably never going to use them as I'm not big into standard, but I'll be damned if I don't get at least one of each. They're definitely what will make me preorder my box
Still waiting on a mana sink mechanic. We can't have a big-mana format without significant mana sinks, otherwise all these big flashy cards won't be enough to justify all the ramp in limited.

We used to pay 3 for an Anthem that could be removed. Paying 4 to immediately toasting him is the same as a 4 mana permanent Anthem, so that's not terrible. The other abilities seem totally fine too. I've always liked Gideon in EDH just because he survives most wraths and is a reasonably big beater. Bummed he doesn't have haste though, but that;s too much.

Although it is subpar compared to typical ultimates, it is the first time ever a planeswalker can ultimate on the turn it's cast. Plus the other two abilities are really, REALLY good on such a cheap planeswalker (compare them to, say, Ajani Steadfast).

As they said earlier no they won't. They will be legal in whatever fpormats the cards are legal in, but the treasuers are not part of Battle for Zendikar.

Wow, those will command big bucks. Pretty surprised they did that since the Zendikar fetches need a normal reprint to get them in line with the going rates of the allied ones.
So I missed the last few minutes so I missed out what the new expansion symbol for the full art duals meant. Anyone want to fill me in?
Think of it as like a reprint in a supplemental product. They're not part of the Battle for Zendikar set. They will only be legal for Standard if they've been printed in a Standard-legal set. Obviously, the new dual lands will be legal in Standard, but the full-frame fetches and shocks will not.
