Let's hope they actually give us a preview card with the Arcana article, instead of just agonizingly dragging us by the balls for months on end like they do with every other product announcement.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
I'm hoping for a exile and destroy commander in W/B. lots of wraths and kill everything (enchantments, creatures, artifacts, lands). I've been playing a ghost dad reanimator loop deck for ever. It would be nice to have more options.
This would be a terrible place to put enemy fetchlands. They need a real reprint.
it would be a way for them to be reprinted if WotC doesnt want them in the current standard though
Reprinting them in C15 would mean that they have no plans to reprint them in a standard legal set. That will likely cause the prices to spike and the C15 supply to dry up.
They easily could have spoiled this at the comic con.
I wonder at the expansion symbol. Looks like stylized wings. That doesn't scream enemy colored to me.
looks like some kind of a shield, as in the previous Commander decks.
Indeed... but it's broken into two parts, presumably to represent the fact that these decks are two-colored
(which begs the question "why wasn't last year's symbol all one 'piece'?")
Momir Vig, Simic Visionary

I think wizards has basically confirmed that doubling season was a mistake when they printed primal vigor.
But do they really care about whether or not they allow 'mistakes' into Commander decks? Pretty sure everyone considers Sol Ring a mistake that has been 'revisited' by way of a vastly inferior card (Sisay's Ring?) but they keep printing Sol Ring in Commander decks anyway.

or they keep printing C15 decks and the demand will be satisfied and prices will drop while fetchs stay out of standard
I have no doubt that they'd have multiple print runs if supply is short, but the number of fetches this would put into circulation will still be drastically below what a normal expansion could. I don't think this method would alleviate demand at all; I'd expect prices to increase once the dream of a standard reprint dies.
Additionally, I don't see any reason why enemy fetches need to be kept out of standard.

At best they wouldn't drop much below the price of a Commander set, and at worst they would soar and drag this product up with them. Everyone and their mother in need of enemy fetches are currently sitting on their hands and waiting anxiously for BFZ while playing off-color KTK fetches, and all those people would instabuy them the moment it became clear that we won't see a reprint in BFZ, causing their prices to skyrocket. Expectations for BFZ have created a demand bottleneck that can make crazy things like that happen. Reprinting them here is the worst idea ever.

When I hit my 3000 post mark, I'm gone for good.
Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.
Oh yea, please put enemy fetches in there, then people will take them out and sell the entire deck minus fetch for like 15 bucks on ebay again. Do want.
If Wizards really want to make me happy though, we get bugdet versions of duals and fetches: 2color fast fetches that search for basics and ETB tapped duals with basic land types. I would dance in joy. Fingers will be crossed until november (which is very inconvienient, really).
Beyond that, I'd like some new utility lands with 2 color abilities.
Also, I hope we get our regular 3 commanders per deck. My guess would be that the oversized card is going to be the reprint commander instead of the new ones, as "added value" for people who already run an enemy colored EDH.
Still hoping for divining tops in the precons so they'll be easier to find. For people like me that make a lot of decks its annoying to have to swap out tops.

I guess the contrary - that the oversize commander is the boxface, which will be a splashy new card.
So glad the tokens are coming back again. That is the one thing that pissed me off greatly about Commander 2013. Nothing like still not having 0/1 Kobold Tokens even though one of the possible commanders of the deck used them a ton.

I completely agree. The double-faced tokens are a godsend, too. Cuts the number of tokens I need to carry with me in half.
Possibility of enemy fetches here is really quite intriguing--I could see it. I could REALLY see it.
That would free up slots next year..if anything, this announcement makes me think enemy colored MAN LANDS are a LOT-lot more likely. (I felt they were a slam-dunk already, just sayin..) And those are the thing I am MOST excited about BFZ so today's announcement is making me do a little dance inside.
I'm intrested in how the R/W deck will turn out. I have faith though since the most popular commander deck from last year seems to be the mono red one.

Whenever this land enter battlefield from library, each opponent get one green or black mana. For each opponent, mana grained will stay in that opponent pool until end of his next end step or until is not spent.
Things I want:
More than anything FOIL COMMANDERS!!!!
A Myriad Landscape that has to search for two different basics.
Any artifact to replace Sol Ring in every deck (PERHAPS MAYBE SENSEI'S TOP!!!)
Punisher cards in every deck.
U/R Artifact commander
U/G Prophet of Kruphix Commander
B/W Commander (or just more cards) that plays with exile.
R/W Commander that is not combat oriented and generates card advantage somehow.
B/G Commander that ramps. Like new Nissa but for any non-basic land.
Tawnos's Coffin and Academy Rector are on the Reserved List.
I would love to see a reprint of Deserted Temple, and also a Petrified Field. Those cards are in pretty much all of my mono and 2-color decks (3 colors or more I pretty much can't afford to be tapping for colorless), and they're creeping up in price, at $6.50 for the Temple and $3.50 for the Field. Perfect candidates for reprinting IMO.
And I, personally, gain nothing from more enemy colored support. Both of my decks are allied colors, as such it is very ublikely we see much in these that I would actually be able to use and would want, and atm I don't really wish to build another deck. So again, these being enemy pairs is disappointing to me.
And my ONLY edh deck is enemy colors (U/G)... which makes this years commander product a god send....
Also, I hope we get our regular 3 commanders per deck. My guess would be that the oversized card is going to be the reprint commander instead of the new ones, as "added value" for people who already run an enemy colored EDH.
I sadly have to agree that Kraj is the likely reprint choice.... I would rather have Vig (or even Edric, but he was reprinted in MM1?) so that new to the game player can see that Simic is more than putting counters on creatures. It blows my mind that there is soooooo much overlap between U/G in the form of polymorph effects and they have yet to make a Simic general that does it....
Really disappointed, was hoping for allied colors, I have zero interest in enemy colored cards :/
You've gotta be kidding. There are so many options for ally colored already. What they really needed was either wedge or four colored with an enemy colored legend in each.
Number of available generals by color combo
Ally:
UW: 24
GW: 23
GR: 19
RB: 22
UB: 22
Blue/Red: Most likely going to be the most fun of the decks.
Red/White: Most likely going to be the one that floods Target's shelves.
Black/White: The middle one in terms of quality and value.
Green/Black: The one that's really sought after but is still quite obtainable at general retailers, much like Eternal Bargain or Built from Scratch
Blue/Green: The Heavenly Inferno/Thought Seize/Forged in Stone of this year.

Guesses for the reprint commander:
WB: since they just reprinted Ghost Council of Orzhova, it's probably going to be Teysa, Orzhov Scion although I really hope not, she is sooo anoying to play against and a reprint won't make her go away
UR: either Jhoira of the Ghitu or Tibor and Lumia with proper support in their deck. Would be happy with either if they get some love.
BG: This is interesting. I'd love to see a modern border Vhati il-Dal, but I think Sapling of Colfenor, Glissa, the Traitor, Sisters of Stone Death or Savra, Queen of the Golgari are just as likely.
RW: My bet is on Brion Stoutarm for this. Giant tribal would be toooo sweet.
UG: Experiment Kraj, pleeease. I'm not a fan of tutor-on-a-stick commanders such as Momir Vig, Simic Visionary, so Kraj with decent support is what I'm hoping for.
