Braj, I hope they bring Kiora back. She's definitely my favorite planeswalker, because Merfolk are my favorite MTG race, and U/G is my favorite color combo. And she's a bad *****. I think U/G might happen, but mono blue seems to be a stronger possibility. Or they could do another three colored planeswalker. If you look at Kiora's, I don't know what they're called, "design notes", they were originally going to match her to the Sultai Wedge (U/B/G), which would be less cool, because I'm not really a black player, but I would deal, because I mostly only care about the story anyways.
Yeah, I think they've made Kiora decidedly more heroic in her most recent Uncharted Realms story, thus moving her away from any alignment with black. She's very popular as a GU walker, so that's where she'll probably stay for the foreseeable future.
Yeah, black isn't necessarily evil or unheroic (Sorin saved Zendikar the first time around). It just doesn't believe concepts like heroism and evil exists. There could be a lot of different interpretations of Blue, Black, Green, depending on what color they want to put the focus on. One possibility for a tri-colored Kiora could be that she seeks to push herself to her max potential and of course as a merfolk, feels a connection with the sea (Blue), she likes big creatures, feels a connection with her "land" and enjoys exploring (Green) and she's willing to use whatever tools she needs to, make enemies with whomever gets in her way and put her goal ahead of others' well-being (unless of course others' well-being also coincides with her goal) (Black).

Agreed, and an argument could be made that in some cases white is far more evil than black. I wonder if we'll see a divide between them given Gideon's alignment to white, but no true "winner" in regard to who makes the right choice.

I guess it depends on your perspective on what "evil" is.
In any case, Kiora's probably not going to bleed into a third color anytime soon. She's very popular as GU, and Wizards does three-color walkers sparingly because they are difficult to play in constructed formats.
I just don't think that based on evidence presented thus far, Kiora is embracing her blackness to save the world.
Perhaps IF zen gets saved, Kiora can encounter some other storyline that pushes her in this direction.
Hell, we dont even know if creative decided this was canon or not. Wouldn't be the first time. They were heading Nissa in this direction originally and pulled a 180.
I expect that Kiora will be G/U like before. You can make a gold 'Walker twice and change it up, just look at Sorin.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Granted that I've only read the wiki on her, I felt that most of Kiora's self-serving attitudes can actually already be explained in the blue section of the pie. I feel that at her core, she embodies a trickster, which has traditionally been a blue trait in this game. And regarding the tidal wave she caused causing all that destruction, it feels more like childish carelessness rather than sadism at least in my opinion (and of course, there's admittedly more I'm likely missing from the picture, so I'd be glad if someone can give other examples on why she may have a black attitude). But then again, I guess I can totally see her attitude being a lot like the BU aligned fae from Lorwyn.
And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the impression I've always had with black aligned characters in the stories is that there's usually something that makes their affiliation to black very obvious more so than just their personalities (i.e. being undead, selling their soul, being a vampire, practicing black magic, becoming corrupted by black magic, becoming a minion to some dark entity, etc.). As far as I know, I don't really see her having B in her costs unless something more significant happens in the story so far (kind of like after Tezzeret and Sarkhan met Bolas). Personally, I'd like to first see her use actual black magic before we expect to see a card like that.
To my mind her character/personality is clearly monoU and G exists only as an excuse to create big fatties. B would be interesting choice but there is absolutely no indication for this.
Still, i believe she will remain UG because of her popularity as others have mentioned. In case Jace never shows up as a card, then i would give her a 10% chance of being monoU.
No.
She has already shown a considerable amount of Green in her soul-
during her battle with Thassa, she grew plants on the sea floor in an instinctive move to save her behind.
More importantly, the respect she has for the giants of the deep transcends Blue's purely academic interest,
and crosses into the territory of reverence for Nature's power.
She doesn't just study Krakens- they bring her a primal joy which is alien to mono-U.
She wants to see them free, and at their maximum potential.
Sure, Krakens are Blue creatures, but when it comes to her relationship with them, she might as well be Garruk.

I am I the only one that thinks Kiora's bident looks completely different from Thassa's? Thassa's is a U, Kiora's narrows at the tips like Nicol Bolas's horns. It's also the wrong color...

Um do you guys remember that she created a giant tsunami that struck Meletis(probably killing many people there) just so she could impress some of the krakens on Theros. A gigantic bid for power is pretty darn black in my book.
Not caring about the consequences of one's action is categorically red. She was reckless with the wave, not trying to bid for power or whatever weird fanfic ideas people are throwing out there. She'd be Temur WAY before Sultai. But it's all irrelevant because she's staying GU.
With all due respect the only reason she was doing it was to gain their attention so she could add them to her collection (growing her power). Also she witnessed the men going overboard and didn't care. She was willing to let the peoples of Theros die so she'd gain more power. She may be attaining power to save Zendikar but she doesn't seem to have any moral compass when it comes to how.
Green is not as innocent as yall think it is. Kiora doesn't have to delve into black to do "evil things". Green has a strong hate toward civilized life. Look at garruk's quotes in bramblecrush, natrulize, and wild defiance. Blue can also be cold and calculating when it comes to getting what they want as well. Look at the blue phyrexians and Jin from new phyrexia. When you combine the two, you clearly have someone who will do anything for what they are ambitious about. In this case, beefy krakens!

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.

I think that every color in the pie has the potential to be good and evil. But your last sentence seems to point out that she is black. Ambition is the greatest trait that black has and while other colors may have ambition the willingness to do anything to achieve it is something black would do.
She's not going to be Sultai (yet) because she's not embracing her selfishness, she's trying to save her homeworld.
