I'm really depressed that Wizards thinks Faith's Fetters is too powerful to print
Faith's Fetters is waaaaaaaaaaaay too powerful to be a common in this day and age (yes, I know it was a common back in OG Ravnica) with respect to limited. Faith's Fetters would have to take up an uncommon slot and so couldn't directly replace Suppression Bonds in the limited environment.
I'm curious how good Renown will be outside of limited. Seems like a lot of creatures with the ability with very little built-in evasion to help push through damage. There has also only been one spoiled card that actually has any Renown synergy (Enshrouding Mist). I'm hoping for a little more support in the cards we haven't seen.

I agree. For a new mechanic you would think they would tease it a bit more with the support spells. I imagine other colors will have support too.
I'm really curious to know how collection will work in Magic Duels Origins.
Does anyone know whether It'll be like M15, where eventually you'll have a full collection and no cards more than necessary. Or like Hearthstone, where you get useless cards and have to disenchant. I suppose trading is out of quesiton.

Anyone?
It is like in Magic 2015 DotP, where you stop getting the card after obtaining the maximum number of copies (4 commons, 3 uncommons, 2 rares, 1 mythic)
I'm really depressed that Wizards thinks Faith's Fetters is too powerful to print
I doubt they think Faith's Fetters is too powerful to print for all time. It's just that the BW enchantment archetype already gets a lot of extra value from a pacifism effect. Having your removal spell turn on your Blood-Cursed Knight and getting to pop another thing with Blightcaster is already strong, without having an extra 4 life to stabilize against the more aggressive archetypes.
What the hell with the weakened cycle? Almost worse arrest (or strictly worse faith's fetters), mana leak and bottle gnomes? (At least the automaton has 3 power. But you can't sacrifice it...)
(PS: sigil of valor is just like exalted: it gives exalted to all your other creatures.)
Thing about Faith Fetters is that it went from "very good" to "almost unfair" when Planeswalkers were introduced. Getting that effect at 4 mana is still awesome even without the 4 life. And the counterspell doesn't need to be compared to Mana Leak. Scry 2 is awesome and you really would run both cards if you could (especially since the latter makes the former better).
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
Calculated Dismissal has a good chance of seeing Standard play. It's going to be a hard counter on relevant threats a good chunk of the time. The spell mastery ability compensates really well for the power it does lose over a longer game, to boot. Being able to turn it into Scry 2 as a lost resort gives it some pseudo-cycling.
And yes, Faith's Fetters is too strong now because turning off Planeswalkers for 4 mana and gaining 4 life would be ridiculous. I think Hero's Downfall setting the bar at 3 mana (same goes for Banishing Light) for Planeswalker removal means at common it should probably cost at least 4 mana.
I agree, at 4 mana including the UU condition for hard counters, it is by no means overcosted for today's standards, they should reprint it one of these days, it deserves a comeback.
Call of the Full Moon is a very flavorful design. Instead of turning a creature into a werewolf, you are giving it a single werewolf transformation. Those end at sunrise, hence the second line. It's best if you think of this card as more of an extended sorcery, kinda like if it had rebound. I like it, and don't think it is that bad. Playable at least.

It's less "strictly worse faith's fetters" and more "potentially better arrest for 1 more mana, as it stops mana abilities but is non-land instead of creature like arrest was.
Why would we need a great card like Dismiss when we can get terrible cards like Bone to Ash? LOL
A little sad that there are plenty of older cards that could use a reprint (Rewind is in there too for me) but they continue to print this... "fodder." Oh well, partially my fault for continuing to buy/play the product I guess.

Perhaps because "Ampryn" sounds like "Amphin"?
It even combos with Jace's Sanctum. ******* bull*****.
