I think we might see this card as the foil alt-art card in the red intro pack which might be rather sweet
Considering we know Hixus, Prison Warden is an Intro Pack foil,
it's a relatively safe bet this is too (and Dwynen, Alibabaharaset, and [insert Liliana's mentor here]).

Why am I getting images of a sitcom-esque take on these characters where Chandra and her family move into a neighborhood where Anax is basically the coach of a school or team with a certain boy as one of the star players and Tibor and Lumia are an eccentric scientist couple who teach at the same school? And of course the Nalaars move in to a home sandwiched right between the two couples'.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Why do people say they are Indian? Don't really look Indian to me, especially not with a Chandra as a child. Father looks caucasian, mother middle eastern.
There is a lot of variety in looks, you can't simply generalize from skin color. The names (Pia and Kiran) are indian names.
Thopter Assembly also makes 1/1 thopters. Speaking of which, maybe Thopter Assembly is getting a reprint. Origins isn't a Mirrodin set, but Kaladesh is metal enough to have assemblies, I think.
We saw a thopter foundry in the Chandra origin story.

Pia is Latin, and aren't you generalizing by calling them Indian?

Pia and Kiran are Sanskrit names. Kaladesh means Country of time, desh meaning country and kala roughly conjugates to time. Chandra is Sanskrit for moon. Many of the names of the cities and characters in Chandra's uncharted realm story had Sanskrit names. In addition, much of the art is reminiscent to ancient India. So there is that for their identity
Interesting, and I totally get it might be the inspiration for their cultural identity. However, if that is true, it saddens me that Wizards didn't make it more obvious in their looks the same way they made it obvious on Kamigawa/Tarkir/Innistrad. Please don't take this as racist, trust me I'm all for diversity and tearing down borders, it's just that a real redhead with milky white skin(sunblock 24/7) doesn't evoke "Indian" to me, no matter the nice name.
So, if we get a Master's Call for Thopter tokens, will it be white, or red perhaps with added haste and sac at end of turn?

Not that strange, red is the color of emotion in general, and love in particular.

Agreed, the back-to-back is much better than the balcony art. Only problem with it is it kinda looks like the thopters are attacking them
Love it. There's got to be ways to build on that idea. And wouldn't you know, Anax and Cymede and Tibor and Lumia can also play off each other using spells like Aerial Formation and View from Above.

We saw a thopter foundry in the Chandra origin story.
Although I doubt it's the Thopter Foundry.

Actually no, Siege Gang Commander is (3)(R)(R). So they both have double red in their casting cost.
he meant the activated abilit cost.
