I've got a suspicion that the five Origins walkers are a teaser of the next set of planes we'll see, either in their home planes or their first walk planes (unless we finally get a new Dominaria set!.)
Yep- one last hurrah for Scuttling doom engine and Shrapnel blast in Standard? Netting two 1/1 flying, artifact tokens is bonkers with ensoul artifact and shrapnel blast- helps you overcome the card advantage lost by playing enchantments and 2-1ing yourself with shrapnel blast constantly. The sac engine on it could combo well with Ugin's Nexus, as well. Izzet Artifact Ramp Standard? This card could seriously make it viable...
Also, interesting that they're artificers (rightly so) but Chandra is a shaman. So I guess it's not a lineage thing. Guess all walkers are divergent...

I'm going to guess "not great", as you have to spend both tokens, 4RR, and 6 life to trade with the Regent. But it does also give you three bodies to convoke Stoke the Flames off of.
i think "against Thunderbreak Regent" means "in competition with Thunderbreak Regent in the 4-drop slot in red decks" and i would rather play Thunderbreak, for sure.
The fact that this is (presumably) an intro pack rare means there's likely to be an artifact subtheme in Red again in Origins - here's hoping there are more goodies to go with it. I'll gladly take more tools for my URtifacts deck and to improve on the mono-R Commander precon.
And in lieu of having Siege-Gang Commander or Beetleback Chief in Standard, they're a solid reanimation target for Alesha, bringing two evasive bodies back with them.
Oh, also, calling their intro deck as RU, with Dwynen's being GB and Hixus's being WR.

I know, the point of the comment was that Dominaria's a wreck after everything that happened there. So it would either have to be another "back in time" set or something about rebuilding and repairing the plane.
What a cool card. Successful flavor, power level and buildaround factor. I don't have a deck for it, but it's the kind of card where I kind of want to build one. I'd expect this to be played with Purphoros for the few months they'll overlap in standard.

StaffI think it will depend on the deck. I can definitely think of shells (artifact stuff like Ensoul Artifact and Shrapnel Blast; Impact Tremors and Purphoros, God of the Forge) where I'd prefer this pair.
