Wondering about the name for Funeral-Blade Predator. The name given doesn't fit the crunch, but I can't find any synonyms for "funeral" that are in the right range and aren't terribly awkward. I guess hearses are associated with funerals, but there's not anything resembling a hearse in the art...
Think we are getting a Birds of paradise in Origin?
Seeing as they JUST said within the last couple of weeks that they're trying to phase out traditional 1 drop mana dorks (and to add to that, we already know the rare 1 drop mana producer with Heirarch)... No, no we're not.
We know that either red or green has 41 cards, while the other colors have 42 (because card 126 is black and card 210 is gold). Now that an mythic artifact with a red activation was previewed (Pyromancer's Goggles), we can expect red to be the color with 1 less mythic.
"For those keeping track on #MTGORIGINS , there are actually 16 mythics and 55 rares due to the DFCs."
So, we get an extra mythic.
So we're thinking that maybe blue still has a mythic coming then? I do think that because the Goggles are explicitly red that's red's third mythic.
Also 55 rares 5 pain lands 5 spread among the artifacts and other lands. 9 rares per colour? We know that Blue still has it's spell mastery card to come, and even though we have the Djinn I'd still think there would be a rare with the Prowess keyword. Though I'd be okay with a blue renown as well.
Looking at The Great Aurora in the number crunch... Is this a new thing or am I crazy and the "The" in cards beginning with it always been ignored for alphabetical purposes?

Any ideas of what the other cycle of dual lands is? I'm not seeing a cycle that fits so maybe it's a new cycle? It seems odd for them to do 2 different land cycles in the same set.
The idea is, there is no second cycle. Why people are so fixed of lands printed solely in cycles? There are many non-cycle lands avaiable. I can see one common fixing land like Evolving Wilds, some utility uncommons and rare whatever land.
It's just most likely to be a cycle since there are exactly 5 land slots still available and we have seen no allied lands yet.

My bet would be on Shards of Alara uncommons to complement the tricolor lands we already got. They, guild gates and mirage fetch fits.
Assuming the colours are equally balanced in terms of rares and mythics, the missing ones are as follow:
2 white rares
2 blue rares
3 blacks rares and 1 mythic
0 red rares
5 green rares
4 rare artifacts/lands

Helm of the gods is a rare artifact which means there are only 4 rare slots left for artifacts/lands.
I have a feeling that prowess is covered by the Djinn so I think the remaining Blue rares are the spell mastery for jace and either a reprint or renown I can't decide which cycle is more likely
I wouldn't be surprised if the black mythic is the Raven man

Where are we getting the idea that there's a 16th Mythic from?

Green was way back on rares, but it definitely caught up today. Here's the updated missing rares and mythic:
2 white rares
1 blue rare
1 black rare and 1 mythic
2 green rares
3 rare artifacts/lands
So yeah, not a lot left. However, we are missing a lot of uncommons, more than half of them.
Staff of the ____ cycle doesn't fit anymore, but Dragon's Claw and friends do. This would eat one of the land slots, though - the one right before Battlefield Forge - so I hope that is not the case.
5 free land slots rather than 3-4 points heavily at another cycle, namely Arcane Sanctum and friends. Either that or it's Evolving Wilds/Shimmering Grotto +3-4 other lands because Limited *needs* common/uncommon manafixing, specially in a set with 10 paired archetypes like Origins - which also happens to have 10 gold cards, more than core sets are used to.
The slightly higher multicolored component and the five slots really get me psyched for Shards trilands. It would be pretty great.

Blood Moon is 100% confirmed out.
Edit: Maybe Graveblade Predator?

And Blue, too. Alhammahahhahammet's Archive.

My bet is we get another 3 mana counter in BFZ.

I dunno, that might break Standard!
Especially with no good anti-control cards in Origins...
Reprint Stasis!
Control needs more love.
