A piece that also is very important to remove in that potential future Sultai Delve deck is Liliana, Heretical Healer // Liliana, Defiant Necromancer which this card will protect very well. Add in the Exploit/Delve creatures and all the modus of Liliana become incredible.
Play this card in response to targeted removal aimed at your Liliana, Heretical Healer and get an easy Planeswalker? Seems fine to me.
Actually, yeah- I could see Modern ST decks trying this instead of Spellskite-
It may cost more, but it works much better as an "alternate" target for Splinter Twin.
An untapped copy of this enchanted with ST is going to limit your opponent's options severely.
You mean... just like Spellskite does, whether it's tapped or untapped, or whether it's enchanted by a Splinter Twin or not?
If this is real then I am happy with the direction the set is to going. The card is not broken but it does something interesting and is fairly priced for what it does.
Now, lets hope at least a fourth of the set's uncommons follow the this cards example.

There's nothing this does that Spellskite can't.
You can hide it. Your opponent knows there's a spellskite on the field and that they have to play around it. They don't know that you have one of these guys in hand. Being cheaper, spellskite may well still be the best overall option, but I think this guy might be able to find a home in some sideboards at the very least.

Exactly.
And in my previous example with this enchanted with Splinter Twin,
there is definitely at least *one* solid advantage over Spellskite-
you can use it to ruin removal like PtE and Abrupt Decay many times over, not just once.

It's much better for the Twin mirror than Spellskite, I think, but it's also a much worse sideboard card against Burn. It's also reactive rather than proactive which makes it much more difficult to play in some situations. We'll see how it turns out, but I think it will be a very nice tech option.
The best part about grabbing Splinter Twin with this guy is the ability to redirect any spell you want at a Token of him at instant speed from that point on. If they waste two removal spells to get rid of him it's really a 3-1 for you.
Seems good and can be reused with Rally the Ancestors in standard or possibly brought into play using Collected Company if a player is desperate to redirect something and is willing to roll the dice on hitting it in their top six cards.
Assuming this actually reads
"Flash, change target spell/ability to ~" as most are saying...
Being able to intercept volley is one big advantage this has over Spellskite. It can also steal an opponent's Twin (nobody would ever cast it with Spellskite on the board), where it forces them to use double removal to get rid of it (after stealing Twin itself, so a 3-for-1) and shuts them down until they do so. Simply the threat of this will hurt twin players, as they can't drop Twin into 3 untapped for fear of instantly losing. Just bluffing this delays the combo by a lot. Might even force Twin players to use Kiki instead (though that would require enough Twin in the meta that this gets played often enough to force them to weaken their deck).
Also, while this is not nearly as good as Spellskite against Burn, it can still eat a bolt a live to block, so it has game against multiple decks. For standard, it could be played in a Sultai deck with flip liliana where it is "counter target removal apell" with the bonus of if you blocked a shock/bolt, add a creature to your board, if it wasn't, you get a death trigger. In that deck it also gives another "counterspell" which triggers Sidisi and any other cards that care about creatures in the yard.
I don't think this will be huge, but it might be playable in standard and is sideboard-worthy for modern.
standard decent. No way that's playable in modern :\
A card that counters both burn (Sure I'll eat your lightning bolt and block something while I'm at it) and Splinter Twin at once isn't modern playable? Not counting countless of other fringe options that this guy will draw to himself much like Spellskite except with much more of a surprise factor? Huh.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
spellskite do it one turn first....this is more "tricky" but one turn at this game it's too much worth. IMO
Edit: and spellskite effect it's perpetual until you can pay 2 life or blue, this guys it's one shot.
Spellskite is also telegraphed. You play Spellskite, your opponent isn't going to play Lightning Bolt, Go for the Throat, Splinter Twin or one of many other things Spellskite laughs at. This guy can come out of nowhere to eat one. It definitely has a place next to the 'kite.
