I can't help but feel she's worse than Liliana's new card. Lili's got different abilities each useful. Chandra's are all litterally damage abilities. WOuld have prefered a way of casting sorceries from my grave with her.
It is not so much that she is better or worse, but rather that she is focused so that only certain decks would need or even want to include her. This applies to the new Liliana as well, and honestly this might be a really good thing and I hope to see this in most of the new cards.
Seems legit. Date on this made version is January, so 2014 to me indicates that they had the creature set but whete unsure about her Walker side.
Also fits in very well with the mediocre Walkers weve been seeing. Rebound might be in Origins to make this a bomb.
Accept the dont print cards before the set is completed. So they wouldnt print one half of a transform card and then print the other half later. Further the copyright is for when the set is released not when they created the card. Hence why KTK has 2014 and FrF & DTK has 2015 despite the set being worked on in 2012 & 2013 respectively.
And Rebound ins't going to be in Origins since it was literally just reused two months ago.

You can flip Lili turn three using Generator Servant or Death Cultist. Chandra requires two cards cast and for you to wait a turn before you flip her.
Though you do need to wait a turn, this Chandra only requires one card cast if you get to attack with her. Plus it can be any red spell, so it doesn't have to be a throw away card like Death Cultist.

The weird things is that Jace's home plane was just revealed to be Vryn. And basically the only thing we DO know about Vryn is that there is rebound there (because of the plane card Trail of the Mage-Rings).
My theory: Rebound will be a mechanical connection between DTK and Origins as they will rotate together.
Question, if she deals the subsequent damage in combat to flip, but is taking lethal in return, does the trigger go on the stack but she still dies or what?
The ability would go on the stack but I don't think it would do anything when it resolves because Chandra wouldn't be on the battlefield by that time.
I like the idea of stacking her emblem in EDH, but the fact that you have to play her in mono red (if you use her as your commander) and the fact that her flip ability requires...some investment really holds her back. I wouldn't mind the Planeswalker side being real, I suppose, but the creature card always requires SOMETHING to flip, and is honestly pretty bad until then.
Question, if she deals the subsequent damage in combat to flip, but is taking lethal in return, does the trigger go on the stack but she still dies or what?
First, the ability only checks on resolution of the ping ability, so the trigger wouldn't go on the stack due to combat damage. If it was worded differently, yeah, trigger would go on the stack but doesn't do anything when it resolves because she's already dead.
Also just to point out something on her ultimate. The emblem doesn't do 1 damage. It does 3 damage at the beginning of that player's upkeep. So lets say you have 20 Life. Roaring Flame ultimate goes off. You take 6 damage. Your now at 14 life. Your now on a 5-turn clock that can't be stopped EXCEPT by getting your opponent's life total down to zero or you mill them.
The new info was that the plane Kaladesh was named as Chandra's home plane in yesterday's Uncharted Realms. As it was a previously unknown plane, the fact that it appears in the card name here is evidence that the name of the card is correct, at the very least.
Chandra's homeplane is from Kaladesh according to WOTC. We never heard of Kaladesh before.
Chandra's article is coming up on the 10th of June which will be talking about Kaladesh and her ascension.
The artwork on her planeswalker side matches previously known picture that featured her and others heads.
The only way to confirm for certain if it was a fake or not is six days from now if this leaked version matches the actual version.
The only thing six days from now is Chandra's origin story on Uncharted Realms. Nothing is going to be confirmed then, other than maybe a piece of art or two from Origins. Spoilers don't actually start until around the 22, I believe.
Ah good one, that's quite likely actually! I feel Storm would fit the Origins last Core set. Also could make a little sidestory. Storm broke the Core set.
For better or for worse, it's incredibly unlikely. Mark Rosewater has a scale used to rate the likelihood of a mechanic being reprinted in a standard-legal set. Cycling is a 1 on the scale, because it will almost certainly be used in a standard legal set in the future. Exalted is a 3. Level Up is a 7. Phasing is a 9. The scale is named after the mechanic least likely to appear in a standard legal set. The scale is named the Storm Scale. (Since its inception, other things have been rated 10 on the scale, including "Art by Mark Rosewater", the Unhinged "Gotcha" mechanic, and Banding.) They don't like Storm because it always ends up as a very low interactivity combo deck. They could control that by not printing any Storm cards that are win conditions, but then nobody would actually like it.
Also just to point out something on her ultimate. The emblem doesn't do 1 damage. It does 3 damage at the beginning of that player's upkeep. So lets say you have 20 Life. Unless your opponent has life-gain, it's a lot quicker of a clock than that. You have to plus her up 3 times before you can use the ultimate, so that's 6 more damage there, and Chandra has to do 3 damage before being flipped, doing at least 1 to your opponent, but likely 3.
That puts your opponent at 5-7 life before any damage is done by the emblem, making the emblem a 2-3 turn clock.
The other reason I have some doubts about this is that all Chandra's abilities are damagey. I've gotten the feeling they were trying to move her away from "damage, damage, and more damage" especially with the more interesting abilities on Chandra, Pyromaster. Though I'll admit that could be intentional - maybe a simpler Chandra represents that she hasn't learned her more nuanced spells yet.
Baseless speculation: If they made Nissa's flipping dependent on, say, getting 2 creatures in play in one turn would that mean that fishing her out with Collected company along with another creature would make her flip on the same turn?
That entirely depends on the wording of the trigger. "If two or more creatures came into play [I HATE saying "entered the battlefield"] under your control this turn, transform Nissa" will flip her, since the game knows how many creatures came into play this turn. "T: Put a 1/1 green Elf Warrior creature token into play. If two or more creatures came into play under your control this turn, transform Nissa" will not, because it's conditional on the tapping. Look at cards like Nezumi Shortfang or Erayo, Soratami Ascendant for examples of similar triggers.

It's probably true, but it isn't too good. It's fine and flavorful and playable in the right deck and format. But it isn't too good.
Not creatures and players. Only players. Super relevant.
