Maro confirmed today that infect is a cut archetype from MM2. This means that there will likely be no infect cards in the set. Will some of the more valuable infect cards spike in value?

Just because an Archetype isn't going to be supported doesn't mean that cards from it can't show up. I'm mainly looking at Inkmoth Nexus here. While it helps an Infect Strategy, it also helps the Metalcraft/Affinity Strategies as well.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

That's a good point but the problem here is that infect is also a mechanic. They would not print it back with only one card. If so, they would most likely print it without the keyword and Inkmoth Nexus is way too wordy. Won't be reprinted.
Judging by last Modern Masters, there were a couple of mechanics that only appeared as a 2 of, so while from that aspect it doesn't mean that it will be in the set, I think WotC could still justify it being in. Either way, this is all just speculation on my part and I don't think that WotC is against reprinting this card as much as an entire "not fun" strategy for limited.

The thing with infect is that is has to be fairly heavily represented to be good in limited. Getting and Inkmoth Nexus and getting a poison counter or two won't do anything if it's the only infect card.
As a draft archetype, it's very hard to get it to mesh with any other decks in a granular way. ***Archetype*** aside, I can still see singles being reprinted, particularly if they're rare and can win via infect on their own.
People should also remember that Modern Masters is a product targeted at enfranchised players
Rules that apply to regular expansions don't all apply in the same fashion for product like Modern Masters which is aimed at an experienced audience.
New World Order does not apply to this product and you can expect elements that promote memory and board awareness will be in the spotlight: this means having mechanics appear without enabling it's overarching achetype duck to lack of volume is fine (even moreso so because the set 100% reprints and it is aimed at people who already played with a lot of these cards).
We know Rise of the Eldrazi didn't sell all that well but that it is a much beloved draft format, it was battlecruiser magic to the extreme (whereas Theros was on the lower end of the scale), akin to Time Spiral which Modern Masters 1 felt close to; I'm confident this set will emulate Rise of the Eldrazi all while improving it
I this comes to pass, I'm afraid I might actually have to spend a lot of money on this set which I did not plan to.

While NWO doesn't apply, Maro's article did say they drastically cut back on the complexity after their first run through of the set. I expect we'll see something more complicated than KTK block and less complicated than TSP block.

Not sure if Inkmoth Nexus will be in, but the card has historically been successful in decks that aren't all-in on infect. Cranial Plating is uncommon in this format, and Inkmoth has multiple implications for the Affinity deck which will be supported in the format. There's the potential for Inkmoth to win the game by itself or block, so there's reason to run it in Limited even if there's no dedicated Infect strategy.

Otherwise I think just vines and the ink/blink moth nexi--which are still somewhat reasonable as far as staple lands are concerned.

Livewire Lash and Vines of Vastwood are the main cards that appear in an infect deck that I could see in MMB. Possibly Mutagenic Growth as well.

And on a related note, what does this mean for It That Betrays, which is not in as it fails the number crunch?
