I see the words "limited bomb" thrown around.
Isn't that term usually designated for cards great in draft and sealed but lackluster in constructed?
Cuz he's played in modern, legacy, edh, and tiny leaders.
He was also the second best 3 drop in standard during Scars block second only to Blade Splicer.
In fact, the entire time he was legal the only other 3 drops comparable to him were Vampire Nighthawk from Zendikar block and Geist of Saint Traft & Geralf's Messenger from Innistrad block.
Point is, he's a rock star and belongs here.
Agreed. I don't think people will be complaining quite so loudly once they draft him, rock the house with him and then head home with more boosters.
It'll be interesting what common removals we've for creatures like Crusader. I can't think of any efficient Edict effects in Modern (before Innistrad) except for Fleshbag Marauder. I think it's ok at common.
It's simply too expensive to attract new players and stunts like Modern Masters are actually making it more expensive by driving interest way beyond what it affords in additional cards in circulation.
I have no clue what you want. You want modern to thrive, but you hate that Wizards is making sets to help newer players get into the format. I'd sure wish these kids would get off my damned modern lawn and stop making cards expensive. BTW, i hope every card i open is worth MSRP.

I want Modern to thrive. I'm saying, in case there were any doubt before, that Modern Masters isn't helping with that - in fact it's actively detrimental to the format.
...
WotC should be reprinting playsets of staples in every Duel Deck and supplementary product they ship. There should be shocklands and fetchlands in every Commander deck, Modern Masters should be cheaper, unlimited in print run and much more filled with actual value than it is and so on...
I'd be perfectly happy with WotC making sets to help newer players get into the format. The only problem is that they aren't doing that.
I can see what you're trying to get at (the fact that low print run + failure to lower rarity = no price change for Modern staple singles)...
... but I'd have thought that having a reprint set is better than not having a reprint set...
... sure, the singles prices aren't going to drop much, but at the end of the day, MM2 is offering Modern players the chance to walk into a shop, pay $10 and crack a booster containing a staple. At the very least, MM2 is increasing the availability of the staples. There are more copies on the market, and you can pull them from a booster off the shelves ATM (well... in some places...). To that end, I'd argue that MM2 is hardly detrimental to the format. Perhaps the opposite.
Sure, it would be nice if the boosters and singles were cheaper (and that would definitely bring more people to the format)... but WotC will tell you they're not concerned about the secondary market. They're in the business of selling boosters. And they're offering us a chance to pull Emrakul if we spend $10. Can't complain too much about that (no matter the odds).

Now that the set is partially spoiled, I'm seeing stores charge slightly more than $10 for a booster pack (It's $13.99 per booster at Card Kingdom, for example). As others have repeatedly stated, the better the cards in a limited print-run set, the more tempting it becomes for a store to charge more for a booster. This makes it more difficult for new players to buy these boosters to get into Modern. And because Modern Masters 2015 is a limited print run, the supply of these reprinted cards doesn't increase to levels that would hold secondary prices down for a prolonged period. The most desirable reprints are gradually hoarded again by speculators, so the secondary prices of these reprints return to price levels before they were reprinted. I found most Modern Masters 1 desirable cards return to their pre-MM prices after a year.

My wife was on MTV with this video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUutIZg2EpU
Geth's Verdict? Cruel Edict? Gatekeeper of Malakir? Warren Wierding (though I don't expoect MM2015 to go back to the Tribal Goblin well like MM1 did)? Smallpox?
Thank you. I couldn't think of these earlier. Of the 5, probably Smallpox would be a cool addition.
Edict effects are also good at nailing Hexproof and Eldrazi.
