I'm not surprised about no rabblemaster. Otherwise, the deck will be two completely different decks in one - the times where you play rabblemaster, and the times you don't. It's quite a polarizing card. However, I am surprised that they didn't use this as an excuse to get more stoke the flames into circulation.
Thunderbreak Regent seems to be the only card to take notice of in this deck. Honestly I am surprised they didn't have a fetch in here to make up for the lack of everything else here. Keeping the deck the same I am surprised Mistcutter Hydra wasn't Genesis Hydra instead.
I'm not really sure what this deck is supposed to be. Normally they try and match the event deck to something in Standard, but I don't remember a Temur deck for a while now. At the very least they could have tried a G/R devotion of some sort, but that might just be me.
Much better than that other forgettable event deck. Even has a scry land. Very interesting with the Miscutter Hydra. I guess they just want u to GET IN THERE as quickly as possible.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
Temple should have been a Wooded Foothills. As usual, the Event decks seem to purposely skip on key cards and give only 1 copy of relevant, powerful cards (Boon Satyr, Surrak, Siege, Knuckleblade, Temple).
But um...hooray for Regent, I guess. It's a card I wanted a playset+ of, but was afraid it would be expensive. Though this deck is so low in value, it probably won't sell well enough to affect the value.
This is a terrible event deck. The last R/G event deck was that of M2014 I think, and even that is better than this deck. Heck even a $25 R/G made solely from the Theros block is a lot better. The event deck failed to utilize the Tarkir block effectively and most of the cards came from the Theros block which would be out of play soon.
The Khans of Tarkir event deck is probably even better.
The only "semi" valuable cards here are Thunderbreak and the scry land. Both aren't even that expensive. People won't be buying a $20 event deck just to get both.
They probably could have saved the event deck by including a fetchland OR two Thunderbreak Regents and two Mistcutters but nada.
It's not even good as a structure basis either. It just feels like a few of each decent cards for temur thrown together. Why is it even temur there's hardly any blue or blue mana sources.
The KoT event deck may be bad but at least there was a clear structure and synergy between the cards.
This event deck feels like a RDW where the fast red creatures were removed. Clearly the idea behind this deck is to get Thunderbreak and Miscutter out as soon as possible. Not exactly a bad structure for a Tier 2 deck but you'd certainly need a playset of each. Also you'd have to scrap all other creatures in favor of better R/G creatures,
Even if you have two of these I don't think you'll be anywhere close to competitive in a standard FNM. If you must stick to the parts, you would need a playset of Thunderbreak and Mistcutter and remove the "splash of blue" cards.
For the price of $25 I think Wizards could have done a whole lot better. For example, you could have added one thunderbreak regent, one polukranos, and two of the smaller R/G dragons.
Just saying, but all Event Decks must be limited to 10 rares, as it says on the packaging, so if you are adding any rares, it has to replace one of the 10 rares. It isn't to say that you can buy the event deck, and add more rare cards yourself.
Yeah but they could have chosen better rares. I think the BOTG deck was one of the better event decks they released in a while. It had desecration, pack rat and herald of torment (plus hero's downfall and four cacklers) all of which were key pieces of T1 mono black decks during that time. It was certainly the best since the 2012 event decks and the one with Hellrider.
Here i think thunderbreak will be the only T1 piece after Stormbreath rotates out.

Outpost siege is proven in standard, so there is that. Knucks suffers only from being in a currently under performing color combination. It's still a damn powerful card. Just needs a deck. Crater's Claws has been played often enough in standard to be a card.
As for the uncommons, Heir of the Wild is quite good, as are all of the instants. All of them are passably playable at the least. Roast is also a good piece of removal.
Honestly, it's a fairl solid event deck all things considered. Nothing insane, but plenty to be happy about. It's a reasonably well put together lists with enough of the key cards to work as a functional deck for a newer player.
Extremely bad value event deck. Can't total more than $10, and a lot of that is in .25 uncommons. It probably plays fairly well after you cut blue though.
I was curious so I did some checking. The value of the deck at current prices is as follows (low end of tcgplayer):
Outpost Siege: $2
Temple of Abandon: $1
Crater's Claws: $1
2 Wild Slash: $1 total
Thunderbreak Regent: $4.50
Surrak the Huntcaller: $1.50
(Everything else are either rares less than $1 or uncommons less than .50 each...)
Total value: $11 ...Ouch
So even including some of the stuff I left off, probably a total deck value of $15 at the very most. Not exactly super impressive for value, but I guess they cant all be awesome.

Adding to this, I have a strong feeling Yasova and Newrrak could both see play after Theros rotates out. Surrak looks to easily be able to slot where Polukranos sits now, just as a generally cheap and efficient beater, and I personally really like Yasova for being decently sized and able to steal your opponents small things. Already it works well, IMO, to steal Courses and Rabblemasters, but it does die way too easily right now. When Bile Blight, Stoke, Drown in Sorrow, and the rest of the small guy removal cast goes, though, I think she could rise in playability.
So there's an artwork we haven't seen yet as a "banner" for the article. I assume it's for the Red Regent, but where will they use it? Clash-pack maybe? Any ideas?
Glad I wasn't the only one to notice that. Looks like it would be an Alt-Art for Regent, which means the next Clash Pack will be at least part red.
I have neither the skill to correctly and accurately analyze this set in the context of current and future formats after 12 hours of exposure, nor the hubris to delude myself into believing that I do.
Yasova is alright in theory but in practice, the chances of you needing to acquire control over a creature with less power than Yasova is slim. You can make Yasova more useful by beefing it up with enchanments but I'm guessing it'll die even before you're able to rake in significant +1/+1 counters. Also, Yasova forces you to play Red.
You can definitely make it work but it's probably not worth the trouble. Since you're already presumably playing R/G you can deal damage in a much mor eefficient manner.

I was hoping the Regents would be the 2nd rare in all the intro packs

The Born of the Gods event deck from before was actually better.
