Always loved doran, but crater's claws seems like a nombo to me, unless you are really representing tasaigur. Cool deck, commune is a big card for the deck.
hah yea you're right about crater's being a nonbo.
probably sub in 3x Collected Company instead. 16 targets at 3 or less seems like pretty good odds.
seems like that would be a pretty cool move without having to mill too much either.
You might want to up that to 18 somehow. I was running some tests today with 18 targets and I would get only 1
creature about 25% of the time.
Consider Caryatids, jeskai barricade, or even that one 0/6 defender from theros. Trash to treasure?
I can't wait to play against the super deep "None of my cards do anything besides block unless my enchantment is out. You'll let it stay on the board, right?" deck.
You'd rather play against the super-deep "All of my cheap Artifacts are useless without Cranial Plating," that consistently Tier 1 deck?
Edit: And the deck that Dorenchantment creates will likely run a few PWs as well. They can hide out behind the walls, creating value and generating an alternate win-con if the enchantment never shows up or gets Decayed.
I use O.G. Gideon in my wall deck. It's a fun deck for multiplayer but Def. Not competitive. This will go right in, just don't know how many yet.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeet, another creature with reach and trample! I called it a few years ago, was told it would never happen, and then Archweaver was printed. I'm very happy to see another... and he's very tasty! Totally in love with that guy.

Assault Formation is also a very nice card
When I step back and look at the spoilers I feel like green and red are getting some super fun toys in this set. Even that GR uncommon dragon is like WHOA! I can't hold all these manas.

Hornet Queen, collected company, and display of dominance are cool and all, but they're not GREEN DRAGONS.
There are 3 monogreen dragons in existence before this set - that's two less than black, three less than blue and four less than white - wtf?
Who cares what Maro says? They stretch the color pie all the time for their own agendas - for example - blue exile creature effects.
PRINT GREEN DRAGONS!
Just because a mistake was made previously, doesn't mean we should continue making them... Colour pie is what makes Magic unique and keeps decklists diverse.
I see you have mono blue, red, and white decks, but no mono-green decks.
I understand you're only into protesting injustice when it affects you.
you obviously just don't understand the need to...
I like the green enchantment. May not be super competitive, but it could be really fun. I would start with something similar below.I would like to fit that 0/4 bird defender that draws a card if you have a dragon in there. Maybe replace the Nxy-Fleece Ram with it.

It's pretty silly to say who cares what MaRo said considering he's in charge of design.
Most of these other dragons were made over ten years ago, with the exceptions being Illusion Dragons and Skeleton Dragon.
You might as well say print Green Angels or black Hydras.
Dragons are incredibly popular so there will always be some bleed. White and Black usually get big fliers in Angels and Demons so Dragons doesn't stretch too too much, blue's flyers aren't usually as big but it is primary in flying so it is easier to bleed dragons into those colours.
Look at it this way there were two green dragons now there are five.

I'm mostly talking about standard here. I also think you are mischaracterizing Affinity. Affinity isn't all in on Cranial Plating by any means.

To be fair, blue's exile creature effects (I'm assuming you're talking about Curse of the Swine and Reality Shift) are essentially Polymorph effects, which is something blue has always had since Mirage. On the other hand, Green isn't particular a color of fliers, but it usually gets the most flying hate to counteract that (reach and cards that destroy things with flying).

Ah, I was talking about Modern. Sorry.
But, regarding Affinity, I know it isn't "all-in" on Cranial Plating. But, when they draw it I tend to lose, and when they don't, I tend to win.
I sure hope the card that makes the Zombie Horror token is playable because honestly I'd do almost anything to get to use a token that looked that cool.
It seems that they spin some kind of roulette for putting watermarks on the cards on this block. I can't see why Assault doesn't have the Dromoka one, when it feels more clan-related than, for example, Meandering Towershell or Hooded Hydra on khans.
Probably too cute, but the Modern version of BigButt.dec could throw in an Idyllic Tutor to tutor up either the Dorenchantment itself or Greater Auramancy to protect it. Maybe not so cute, maybe pretty solid, come to think of it.

There are only two mono-coloured dragons for each colour in this set - that's been known for a while. Even red doesn't get any more unless it has any non-cycle dragons yet to reveal. Green has only ever got dragons as part of cycles. Both green dragons have been seen, and both are completely unplayable in any constructed format (and arguable in Limited).
I don't think blue exile effects are outside the colour pie when they're transform effects. All of these cards are descendants of Pongify, from Planar Chaos.
Green dragons, and indeed green fliers, aren't outside the colour pie - but green having fewer fliers than other colours is. So it's not at all clear why it would want more dragons particularly. You obviously expect blue and white to have more fliers of all sorts than green, in particular.

Hmm I beg to differ - both blue exile effects and green dragons are outside the typical pie.
Planar Chaos was all about going outside the color pie. Every single card. If a card is going descended from a planar Chaos printed card, it pretty much is by definition outside the pie or at least very significantly stretching it.
I'll agree green FLYERS are outside the pie. But Green Dragons shouldn't be very far outside the pie- Flavorwise, dragons are big beasties and green is the bomb at having the beasties so it should have more of them.
for special sets like Dragons of Tarkir that are all about the dragons, there should be some in the form of green dragon- which there are. I just wish there were more. It's crazy that blue has 2x as many exile creature effects -which are very out of pie- as green has dragons.

To be fair dragons are something green has had since mirage with canopy dragon leading the way. Blue isn't particularly the color of creature removal, but it usually gets counterspells which are even better and stop creatures before they happen.
I don't want green flying dragons, I want green dragons that have pseudo flying as long as you tap a forest. That'd be cool, a 5/5 green dragon that has pseudo flying if you tap three forests wouldn't really be considered colour pie breaking.
But it would be considered dreadful. Canopy Dragon only required you to tap one forest and that was considered the worst of its cycle.

You're sure Wielding the Green Dragon in this thread.
They did decide to ignore parts of the color pie for this set, which I support.
