Not sure if someone else responded, but is a sucky interaction. Norin will almost always have the least toughness, and then exile himself, losing the counter.
Meh.
the tokens that get created are 1 toughness aren't they? You would just bolster onto them. It has been a while, so maybe I am forgetting something.

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
In an optimal boardstate for Norin, they'll have Genesis Chamber out, thus making 2/2 myrs with this on the battlefield. Unfortunately, I think the fact that Norin otherwise invalidates the bolster triggers he creates will be enough of a problem to keep it out (though he'll exile himself before any other creature hits the field, so he at least doesn't invalidate her normal method of play, just the bonus she'd get off him.

Ahh, I didn't realize they were 2/2. It has been so long since I saw the deck, I thought they were 1/1.

They are 1/1's, but if she's out, you could put the bolster trigger from Norin on them, rather than on Norin, thus making them 2/2's.

Well, now we know from a flavor perspective that there were people trying to adhere to the old ways of their clan and that some people kept the Kin Trees around.
This seems like the perfect commander for tiny leaders for those who don't want to play green elves. A cheap legend with an ability that will only help in a format full of low cost and thus mostly small creatures.
This might make a w/x agro deck that tops out with high sentinels of arashin viable. Too bad she costs WW, makes it awkward when you try to curve a warden of the first tree or sunblade elf into her. I guess you can play soldier of the pantheon and mardu woe-reaper, but that just doesn't sound good.
Also, why the heck isn't she a warrior? All (or at least most) of the abzan ancestor sprits are spirit warriors there's disowned ancestor, kin-tree invocation, and warden of the first tree becomes a spirit warrior.

If MTG is a part of your life, the formats are like relationships:
Standard/Block = The on-again, off-again holiday fling
Modern/Vintage/Legacy = Stable, homely. A ***** after absence/misreading
Limited/Sealed = Heart breaking free spirit
Commander/Cube = Agreeable, needy and expensive
Pauper/Peasant = Sweet, kind, practical, but shy and boring
I wonder how well she'll fit into a Teysa, Orzhov Scion or Ghost Council of Orzhova deck? Thinking about it, I think Anafenza and Ghost Council will be bonkers together; you sac the Spirit token to flicker the Council, then get another token upon the Council's reentry. And then you add in Twilight Drover and Soul's Attendant/Soul Warden/Deathgreeter to further take advantage of the combo.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

F**K you WOTC!!!!
Khans form Tarkir
One is Zomvie master now she is zombie
One is warlord now he is coward
One is great warrior now she is tortured to death as spirit
BUT
ONE is good martial art master now SHE IS PLANESWALKER! ! !
yeah a lot of hate here
edit: It'll not end well if Surrak ends up with something horrible
Not bad at all, but I'm miffed that she has nothing going on beyond the possibility of being 3/3 on T2. No vigilance? First strike? Lifelink? Hexproof? Perhaps even flying?
Its starting to become a pet peeve of mine that the reminder text takes up an unneeded amount of space that could be better used to add even a keyword or 1-3 line trigger or activated ability. First Zurgo and his stupid dash that is taking up four lines of text. Now Anafenza and her stupid bolster is taking up two lines of text. They are so French Vanilla.
By not placing more rules text on cards they free up space for reminder text, not the other way around. See Narset, they can skip reminder text on rares and mythics if needed.

Fixed that for you. Just how they changed male/female and khan/dragonlord in the timelines, they also changed the basic state of the legends. Also we know Surrak is still throwing his usual punch lines. I foresee some power-doubling/buffing effect on him to work with formidable.
How are so many people disappointed by this? I must suck at card evaluation, I think she's really effecient, she might do some waves in Modern as Melira-redundancy in Persist decks at the very least.

The peeps here for new cards seem to like to evaluate them based on very powerful cards from previous sets. She's no Voice of Resurgence, so she's rubbish, is usually the way.
Although I'm inclined to agree that she's not terrific.
1) If you happen to be in the worst case scenario and only have her, then you only have a bear, which is pretty poor.
2) In a normal aggroish deck you'd want to play her second, so might get her bolster to trigger 3-4 times. That's "OK".
I think she'd really shine in any deck that has recursion, so that her trigger has the possibility of going off more than just a few times.
Wonder what Surrak is going to be like? Dragon poop?
He's called the Hunt Caller on one of the Ugin's Fate cards, plus he punched a dragon in the face. Should hopefully still be badass. Will be interesting to see what his inevitable Formidable ability will be.
Inevitable? Well, Taigam will hardly have rebound...but I admit that it is quite possible they will stick the clan abilities on the "khans" of DTK. For Zurgo, Anafenza and Sidisi it is true.
We won't get a new Tasigur. We get alternate versions of the KTK Khans. The FRF ones are just dead.

That is a good deal more understandable to me, thanks for the explanation.
I have to ask though, what about Persist immortality in Modern? With Melira, with this as "Melira redundancy" (because when creatures return to the battlefield with -1/-1 counters, they're usually the ones you bolster right) - would that work as a brew? Or is it not effecient enough/will it fold to combo decks?
