Ye olde 2 mana conditional kill spell again, that can't kill Rhino. Personally, I'm happy to see it back since I mainly play limited and this is almost always a good card there.
D:... too much choice in removal. bile blight vs ultimate price... have to run the downfalls for Walkers plus anticipation I have to fit in. lots of choices incoming.
also I like the art, but I have tons of Rav Ultimate prices laying around.
This card seems incredibly strong in this metagame, and might force players to move towards multi-colored permanents, which turns on Radiant Purge. Before Ultimate Price's printing, I saw little reason not to run mono-colored creatures in this format, especially creatures that dodge removal. This is a pure answer to Stormbreath Dragon, which makes black decks even better. It also allows for a fast Bx Aggro deck to remove Courser of Kruphix at 2cc without slowing down the race too hard.
Ugh! I thought we were done with 2 mana black kill spells.
Black always gets plenty of good kill spells. And people still complain about blue...
Wasn't black supposed to be the color of death?
It's been the best source of kill spells (although conditional) and necromancy since forever.
No, it's totally within black's color, I'm more just commenting on how people had a total flip out when Reality Shift was printed (also totally within blue's color pie), but no one blinks when they flood Standard with black kill spells.
2 cmc black kill spells will never go away completely, they have just become less common. Within the context of the block, I feel like this is a good one to possibly print since it is good, but with a lot of multicolor stuff out there, not too good.

I will always firmly stand by the belief that Magic is a game first and a collectable second.
The best part about Ultimate Price appearing in this set is that we have a 2 mana black removal spell once Khans rotates in the fall for the next Standard format! But I would appreciate a reprint of Doom Blade in Magic Origins....:p Just kidding. I also agree that as an Abzan player, it's good to have a cheap removal spell against some of my biggest threats like Stormbreath.
That's... helpful. We've been missing a black kill spell at 2. Bile blight is nice and all, but it just doesn't quite cut it against some decks. Bad against rhino, but pretty much good against every other creature threat on the field right now. I'll take it.
The problem with cheap removal is the effect on limited. That being said, a SINGLE kill spell shouldn't be an issue, just make sure to run your bombs gold colored. Since we're also talking about which colors should die, red is the dumbest color ever. People who complain about blue are red mages.

You have come to kill again.
Not bad to see a balanced kill spell.
And could we just take a second to admire that flavor text? That sentence could exist in a Dostoyevsky novel.
