Game is short and fun, should be totally fine for a newbie in the game.
I just liked to get some bits of backstory for the planeswalkers, worth it for that.
The problems that the servers are unavailable is pretty stupid, especially when it hinders you to play in SinglePlayer.
The "booster" prices are fairly high if you are just going to play without putting money in the game (and i mean, why should anybody put money in this game ? If they can simply play "real" magic ... dont see a reason why a promotion product has a cash-shop ... feels pretty miserable).
In short, it seems decent for a promotion product for newbies, and gameplay wise its totally fine for the time its worth playing it ; just get rid of the allways online crap, nobody needs that, nobody wants that, its a free product anyway (so theres no reason for DRM or anything) , so really, remove that ...
----
BTW winning the liliana end-quest is fairly easy if you can reanimate a Tutor-Demon on your side, then search for the Grave-Titan in Lilianas deck (which is just stupid powerfull).
With all the Gravediggers and the like in the Liliana deck, you will win by that card alone, and as you keep all the goodness for the next demons, its a cake-walk after that.

That´s another ting that bothers me. Why are you forced to play a already made deck for the archetype quests? That kinda defeats the purpose of building your own deck. Seems to me like a huge missed oppotunity
In the last few games it was always a bit hidden, but now I can't seem to find it. Can someone tell me, where can I change the avatar for my decks?
Hey sorry for the late answer but I just found the place to do it. When you´re making the deck, click the info button at the buttom of the page. It will show you what your deck is like. The pictue on the left side have a symbol in it´s conor that you can click on to make a new face, background and name to your deck. I hope this helps

150 coins is $2. That gets you a 6-card pack. Real packs have a MSRP of $4 and contain 15 cards. That's not so bad especially considering both are guaranteed to have a rare or mythic. And you don't have to pay any real money for the Magic Origins pack if you're willing to just play.

The game's technical support page says they intend to make archetype quests work with custom decks, as well.

Wow, you really just compared the ingame price to the real paper card prices ... didnt you ?
Oh boy, the cards in this game are promotional cards, and they are limited to this game, they have no value at all, you cant resell them and you cant even trade them, the price is a joke, and still, if anyone is "really" willing to pay that price (which is a real trap) , they should just buy real paper cards, or directly play magic online ; but for gods sake, dont buy cards in this promotional product, especially not for such a ridiculous price.
----
The game had some "puzzles" in the tutorial (way too simplistic ofcourse) , but i would totally buy such puzzles as some form of DLC, if they are actual interesting and plenty of them to keep you busy.
They could even use such Puzzles as a community effort, and its a great way to teach you some of the more obscure rules that might solve that riddle.
But for gods sake dont sell booster packs in this game, its completly crazy !
*But anyone that wants to throw its money away, feel free to enjoy it.

What?
Like, what?
Apart from the ridiculous notion that something you get for free can be "too high" in price, the boosters are fairly cheap. I played the game for 1 and a half days only and I already got like 8 boosters or something.
How can somebody seriously complain about something costing too much, if they literally didn't pay a single cent. In which sphere of false sense of entitlement are we right now?
Look, I'm also not a huge fan, as the game is buggy as ****, the servers are constantly down, there isn't a lot to do once you beat the story mode and the overall gameplay is just less fun than DotP 2013, but the price of the boosters is quite literally the last thing someone has a right to complain about.
I'm stuck at Liliana's third duel vs the angel. It's really ridiculous that she's able to drop one must-answer threat after the next and eventually your high cost removal runs out. I'm fine with playing bad decks but give me a decent chance here.
*edit
WHATS WORSE is she has BETTER removal than you, and JUST AS MUCH. But your threats aren't nearly as dangerous, and heaven forbid you actually are able to kill one of her angels and resurrect it, BOOM exiled.

The story mode seems to be a single luckfest. I personally beat the angel, Alhammaret and most of the other opponents people in this thread had problems with on the first try, but it took me ages to get past Josu and the Hermit Witch. Liliana's deck is easily the worst of the bunch until the finale.

Jace and Chandra have pretty bad decks to start with and theres some cards that are just horrible.
However, you really just need a handfull of cards to win pretty easily, just need to draw them at all.
For Chandra the 5/4 Fire Elementals pretty easily win the match by themself, together with the Phoenix to keep hitting them, while all the small creatures in the chandra deck are completly worthless and die to any blocker and cant block reasonable well.
In the last matches the decks tend to pack some reasonable uncommons and rares, that can easily win.
----
As Jace for example against the bandit, its an unwinnable fight if they keep dropping zombies, while you draw into mill and counterspells.
Early Jace rounds are just "play Dragon, hope it doesnt die, win the game ... "
----
So yea, the decks are overall pretty stupid, as they have a horrible matchup, until you draw that "specific" card that just makes it a cakewalk.

Yeah, that matchup is a nightmare. You essentially have to have two pieces of removal early game, or you lose. I won when she mulliganed to five, and I draw every removal spell in the deck. Even then, it was close.

You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Does anyone know how to get a hold of customer support? When I go to help it sends me to the customer service website. That site requires me to log in just to email you guys, but I can't remember my password. I go through the steps to have my password reset or sent to me or whatever, but it says to check my email and I'm not receiving any email. I try to register for a new account and it says my email is already on file, which means it has the right email address for me. Yes, I've checked my spam folder. They're not in there.
I'm having multiple problems. My daily quests on Duels Origins are not being achieved even though I'm meeting the requirements threefold. I also didn't get a new one today or the option to refresh the old one. And I've not gotten the gold reward for winning my last two versus battles. Please help.

I'm assuming you're completing the daily quests with decks from the wizard, not completely custom decks, right?
Anyone else noticed that you cannot change the name and image for your decks on the xbox one version of the game?
If anyone knows how I would be most grateful!
I don´t know about the Xbox version but on PC you do it when you at the bottom when making a new deck. Theres a statistic button you can click that takes you to changes of naming the deck, background etc
Does anybody know how to properly assign combat damage when there is a double-block ?
No matter what card I click on first, it seems completely random which creature get's "its fill" of damage before damage is distributed to the other creature.
Did you switch off the automatic ordering for multiple blocks in the settings?

EDIT: Just defeated the opponent. For those of you who don´t know, you just have to sit and wait until the opponent cast Emrakul.
Guess I got lucky on that one? My opponent got mana screwed and didn't cast a single spell. I killed 'em with Scute Mobs.
I did so too and sadly no, there is no achievement for that :/
Lol well that´s a bummer
