Well I saw the news that it was released early on iPhone and iPads and went to download it only to get "this app is not compatible with your device."
I look at the info and its only for iPhone 5s or higher. I have a 5c... OMG LOL
I hope it's for PC as well, because I definitely want to check it out.
After having played on the iPad mini through Kytheon Iora's storyline, I like the play experience. Combat tricks feel like they need some good timing to pull off, but I guess that's the point. After failing the first attempt through the scripted battle, I had to repeat the trick. Still missed, but won the second time around. Starting Jace's story, I found counterspells to be a little odd, but it worked the first time I tried.
I tried playing Duels before and quickly put it down, but with a touch interface it's pretty great. Now if it synced with MTGO... but I would never want to see Vintage attempted with the interface.
So, I think I am going to wait for the Steam version to come out (was going to make that the one I play mainly once I heard no cross play, but now I'm not sure how much I'll bother playing the iPad version now). I downloaded and played for about two hours, during which, there were the following issues:
1. Laggy play and long load time. When I selected to start a match, there would be a fairly lengthy load time before the match would start, there would also be a 15+ second load time between switching most screens. And when it wasn't loading it would feel like the app is in some sort of constant slow mode. It's pretty obvious it is rather horribly optimized considering the device requirements they set for it on the app store, but this is kind of silly (I'm on an iPad Mini Retina, btw).
2. At least 3 times, the app just sort of locked up. I would have to minimize the app and open it again before I could continue (one of the times it went back to the loading screen when I resumed, so I am pretty sure that one at least was a crash). One of the times it happened when I selected to open a pack (fortunately, did not lose the pack), and another was just when I was navigating my collection.
3. The touching seems to have some issues with functionality or responsiveness, mainly noticeable when I tried selecting which lands to tap for a card, which just really did not work at all.
4. Finally, one time when it was switching from a game to one of those skill quests, it completely locked up my iPad. I could not use the home button to minimize or anything. I had to force my iPad to shut down and start it up again before I could do anything with it.
I'm still going to play this, and I'm sure the app will get the bugs ironed out eventually, but yeah I am waiting for the pc version.

I would not expect a version for older iThingies. The compatibility list is all 64-bit devices; they probably wrote this in Swift & if MaRo's line about complexity is even on the same plane as the truth, there won't be a 32-bit version.

Hey all... I'm retired, not dead. Check out what I'm doing these days (and beg me to come back if you want):
It takes next to no time to get certs for Android, compared to the weeks (sometimes months) it takes to get certs from Apple. Most likely they wanted them to come out at the same time, so production for android started later. Consequently the same issues they ran into android devices before is continuing to be a problem, so no App for android users (hopefully, yet).
so wotc decided to spend their developing resources in this new area when they promised leagues going back to MTGO like 5 years ago and users are still waiting for someone to work on them?
Stainless made this game as always, not WotC proper.
I can't decide if I will get this for my ps4 (much more comfortable playing experience), or my Android tablet (portability). Using a touch screen interface seems more natural with card games, but sitting in a lazyboy and yelling at a large TV sounds like a blast.
As someone with versions on both iPad and PS3,
I *vastly* prefer the iPad versions.

Well, since it is not comming to Android for the forseable future, and I don't do iOS, I don't have any choice but to get it on my PS4. Besides, I only use a 7" tablet (anything bigger is not comfortable for me to read in bed with), so I'm not sure it would be all that impressive.
I really hate wizards whole silent treatment to these things. "Coming soon" Coming later this month" isn´t good enough
The best release date any developer would give is the id or 3d realms style of "It's done when it's done." That way people will stop asking for the release.
Magic: The Gathering
Thank you for your patience as we resolve the issues you've been encountering in Magic Duels. We are happy to confirm that all players should once again be able to earn coins from Solo and Ranked Versus Battles.
In addition to that, we've listened to community feedback and have permanently doubled the coin cap to 400 coins per day. The cap applies only to earnings from Solo Battles and Ranked Versus Battles. Coins you earn from Daily Quests, Community Quests, Story Mode, and Skill Quests do not contribute to this cap.
As a thank you for your continued support for the game, we have granted all existing Magic Duels players 400 coins! We hope this helps make up for the coins you would have earned during our downtime.
Note: This one-time gift of 400 coins was given to any player who had played Magic Duels prior to 7pm UTC (3pm Eastern/noon Pacific) on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. The 400 coins should show up the next time you start playing Magic Duels, so you may need to restart the game to see the 400 coins added to your balance.

still waiting for a Steam release date yo!

The Steam build is undergoing continued polish to make sure we are putting forth a solid gaming experience. We are on target to launch the game by the end of the month.

Thank you. It still seems to me tho that it´s a neverending thing that they are postponing which is why an actual release date isnt happening
Ah...give a gift to iOS players in addition to getting to play first. Other users? Screw them, they'll give us their money anyway when we deign to let them play too.
Tried the ios version and here's what I noticed
- Loading times and lag. It's as if the ipad Air did not have the necessary juice
- Game crashes relatively often and sometimes locks up the device (can't go back to home).
- It uses battery like there's no tomorrow. Poorly optimized perhaps?
Aside from that, it was fine. I wish it had F6

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?

An odd refusal, considering it's already out on one platform and the developers are maintaining that the remaining versions will be released this month and the next.
That's unfortunate timing, since the Windows 10 free upgrades start going out on the 29th. I imagine their initial downloads will be a little on the low side as people are reinstalling their OS and all their stuff.

Cards are game pieces, and should be treated as such, easily replaceable.
Cards are not money, investments, or a retirement fund, and should never have been treated as such.
Wizards made a mistake caving to speculators once, and we still pay for that mistake 2 decades later.

Steam typically updates their storefronts at 10am Pacific Time (GMT-8). There are exceptions, but that's typically when new releases appear/are unlocked.
So that's about... less than 16 hours from this post.

Started playing since Invasion, stopped at Scourge. Returned briefly during BoK's introduction of ninjas. Finally back into magic during Shadowmoor/Eventide.
