I sorta called the command cycle! Granted it was for last set, and I said reprints not new cards, but still... My reasoning was there at least. First prediction I've had that's (kind of) true haha.
Anyways, now that white removal spell is looking a lot better what with all the multicolored stuff here.
The commands have me very excited, hopefully they're all good and playable maybe even good enough for modern! Can't wait to see the rest. This set keeps getting better.
The broken card in that concept is prophet not the shaman. Plus, you would still have issues needing to give it haste or bank on the prophet still being alive after a turn rotation. Either way, thats a problem with prophet and not the shaman.
Not gonna disagree there. But we can probably agree that the RC feels Prophet is "still ok". This card's introduction doesn't make it any better.
So, Boltwing plus Prossh could be a thing. The unfortunate bit is that Prossh gets his tokens on the cast, not the ETB, so the Boltwing triggers will happen while Prossh is still on the stack.
I like the command a lot for Patriot Control, it definitely is the best poor man's replacement to cryptic and could be more mainboard hate for annoying burn.
Edit: also it could count as snapcasters 5-6 or 8-10 depending on the amount of restos you are running

There wizards go again, putting a 4-of constructed card at mythic, again.
This newpractice is beginning to annoy.
There's really no way for Wizards to win with Mythics because either it's a "Garbage mythic! Why would I get excited about it?" or "A GOOD card? Blatant cash grab by WotC".
I dunno why people seem happy about this command, it seems pretty bad for a command. Counter mode is Essence Scatter. Lifegain is only 4. Ressurection is only creatures 2 cmc or less. The only redeeming feature is the ability to cantrip on top of one of the other effects, but none of the other effects are actually good enough to be worth 4 cmc even with a cantrip tagged on. 4 life + cantrip would barely be playable at 2 cmc IMO. I don't recall Bone to Ash being playable. And given the limited choices of creatures that can be brought back with this, you might as well consider it like having a 2 drop creature with a cantrip tagged on at 4 cmc, which generally isn't the best idea.
Sure, you get options, which helps increase the value here, but I'm having my doubts about the card despite this. I could be wrong of course, but I don't really get a good impression from this. Cryptic Command competition this is not.
If the 'gain 4 life' clause would have been something more relevant, the command would have been very strong, at least definitely standard playable
Incidental lifegain on a card can push it from good to bonkers. See siege rhino, sphinx's revelation. Burn is prevalent in modern and standard right now, having a card that says gain 4 life, draw/counter is pretty good. Not being able to impact QN existing board state isnt great though. I'm hoping for the GR one to be good, since GR seems to get shafted on these types of things.
Incidental lifegame surely can be good sometimes, but not if it takes away a beneficial effect.
And against burn, definitely not on a card that does not immediately effect the board.
Would you play a 4cmc card that says gain 4 life, draw a card against a burn deck?
A decent scenario might be 'return target seeker back to the battlefield, gain 4 life'. But in most scenario's I rather counter his phoenix, and return the seeker back into play.
Siege rhino is just a dumb card, a 4/5 trample for 4, with a 3 loss life clause already is bonkers, the life gain is saucing.
Sphinx was so strong, because casting the first one, allowed you to cast the second one 1-2 turns later for the snowball effect.

The Internet was a revelation to me, I never imagined there are so many idiots on this planet.
Ojutai's Command will be a Standard card. For Modern, it is not Cryptic Command. If Ojutai's Command could counter any spell, it would at least be on par with the old Dismiss card.
Problem with Ojutai's command is that it can't directly impact the board. Obviously cryptic command is a high measuring stick and anything stronger would probably be absurdly overpowered in today's standard though.
The first ability is pretty impactful. Imagine against burn.
Turn 2 - seeker of the way (gets burned)
Turn 4 - command to gain 4 and ambush a rablemaster
That's a lot of life.
Against mid range this is exclude
Against burn this is negate + draw
In control matchups it cycles at the very least
I don't see the new Command being Modern playable unless you need a budget option for Cryptic Command. And even then, I would think that something like Rewind would be better in that regard because it hits more than just creatures.
I can see the UB one having a mill effect, a Duress effect, some sort of Gravedigger effect, and Negate stapled on it for good measure.
The intro pack dragons look awesome. Time to redouble my efforts in finishing my Grixis Dragons deck in EDH.

Should we call it Lesser Dismiss? Dismiss Junior? Dismiss-I-Wished-You-Were-Here?
nope, because it has more modes. you can also return a creature or get some emergency life. i think its very playable and would be too strong for standard if it would counter anything.
I seem to be quite outspoken about Shaman of Forgotten Ways, it's just my opinion that good ramp is sparse in standard, also Courser of Kruphix and Sylvan Caryatid are on their way out in a matter of months.
Completely ignore the second ability of the card, it's a joke in everything but EDH.
1 extra mana over Sylvan Caryatid to add an extra mana of any colour and a relevant body seems like a good trade off to me.
Making this card mythic means that the price will spike to a ridiculous level during it's tenure in standard, then it will drop to bargain basement prices the moment it rotates.
