For my 2 cents, especially in EDH there are plenty of times when 11 Mana and 8 power looks a hell of a lot like a deadlock for one reason or another (possibly simply because you've ramped to that point and everyone else is still at 40).
While some players don't love win now turns they have their advantage; I would much rather start a new game than carry on a grindy match for 2 hours. Shaman is exactly perfect for these situations.
Most Dragons look really awful... Especially Arashin Sovereign. It looks like he can barely fly because he's so obese.
I'm shocked that artists nowadays aren't capable of drawing a simple Dragon... I was looking forward to a Dragon based set, but what I see is a desaster.
It's pretty obvious that they went out of their way to design non-traditional dragons.

Each brood has a distinct look, and some look more awesome than others. The Dromoka brood just looks...really chunky. Its their art choice and it appeals to some. For me, I'll take the Kolaghan and Ojutai brood looks, thank you very much.

Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.

Eh, all of the Dromoka brood look kind of fat. Maybe it's because of all the +1/+1 counters they're accumulating?
To be fair, the cost to cast Ojutai's Command to bring back an Snapcaster Mage and potentially cast a counterspell or something else with it is the same as casting a Restoration Angel for the same reason. One could argue the value you get is not the same.
Shaman won't be better than Somberwald Sage, it does this shaman's job better and for 50 cents....his second ability is marginally relevant, not standard or EDH playable...unless you are running Junk Human Tribal...maybe...

"I don't need to have the perfect plan. My foe just has to have an imperfect one."
Just realized Ojutai's Command brings back a creature with converted mana cost two or less. Ugh. Initially thought it was power two or less. Ok, much less useful... Carry on.

As someone who plays jeskai control in standard I should be excited about the command, but it just seems so underwhelming to me. I can maybe see it in the sideboard for decks with more expensive creatures, but if that's the case I don't see why I wouldn't just use Disdainful Stroke instead.
lets see, mb because you trade 0vs1? since your card replaces itself with another card or something from your graveyard?
The problem is that it's a 4 mana conditional counterspell in a standard where the most threatening creatures are very likely to come down before you can reliably have the mana up. I'd feel much better about the card if it was able to counter planeswalkers as well or if the life gain was a bit more substantial.

Because conservative bias is a far, far worse thing. Liberal bias doesn't, statistically speaking, make people stupid. Conservative bias (or at least Fox's version of it) does.

Dunno, while I'm not a fan of the G/W dragons I think all the rest look decent enough.

Or maybe it's because of poor nutrition? No seriously, I'm disappointed by their new interpretation of how Dragons look like.

I bet the blue black command has negate as a mode, since essence scatter was here. Maybe it'll cost more and have delve?
I'll take that bet, seeing as how Delve is not even in this set.
I bet it had negate, not that it had delve. One was a statement I am betting on. One was speculation that someone else before you was kind enough to correct me on without the double quote and snark. Thanks though. i honestly feel that we've both benefitted from this interaction and I look forward to your future posts here!

Can someone take that breakdwon of the dragon cycles and mark off how many are left to show up in each?
Still waiting on a zombie dragon before i preorder a box for my own fun draft. Might go for that kolaghan brood intro pack. But are the cards shown the alternate art or the normal?

Wanted -Zombie Foils and older expensive Zombie stuff. High Priority- Beta Z Master/ Int. Collector's Edition.
I think Ojutai's Command in Modern can fit in a Bant Ramp/Control:
T2: Land + Sakura-Tribe Elder
T2 Opp: chumpblock
T3: Land and pass
T3 Opp: Ojutai's Command (return Sakura/Counter)+chumpblock again or EOT(return Sakura/draw)+sacrifice Sakura
T4: Land (and you've 7 just with 2 cards..)
I like the UW command but i am not sure it can show up in modern. I great card in standard nevertheless.
I can't wait until the UB command is revealed. Here is a guess:
Shaman of the Forgotten Ways seems like DTK's answer to Dragonspeaker Shaman but I'm still hoping that red is given some sort of dragon ramp or card other than Dragon Tempest (which seems like a great card) that will facilitate getting them on the field faster.

+1/+1 counters in terms of flavor are scales ie Hardened Scales. So they have thick scales.

This is probably the most playable card spoiled so far.
As many have said, counter + draw is always standard playable, and control wants to counter creatures more than anything else.
What's more, 4 life is super relevant.
BUT, the most awesome mode on this card is not the control modes. REANIMATE! Super cool! This takes a boring and somewhat overpowered control card and gives it a whole lot of depth! Yes, I know you guys are hung up on Soulfire Grandmaster and Seeker of the Way, which both seem awesome to reanimate. But in a deck that uses those two cards you might not necessarily be making full use of Ojutai's Command. I have something better to reanimate!
JESKAI SAGE!
You remember, the dorky 2- cmc prowess 1/1 that draws a card when it dies? It was thought by several professional players on Channel Fireball and elsewhere to make a very heavy impact on standard because the stats seemed good for control by themselves. It didn't end up seeing play, but it will now. Consider that card your upgrade to Wall of Omens, as you now have a roadblock on turn 2 that will come back many times and recur a massive amount of value.
If they play a creature and you have a Sage in the grave and Ojutai's Command in hand, you might say counter + reanimate instead of counter + draw. You're still probably getting a card, only you get a 1/1 with prowess in payment for waiting for it. If they didn't play a creature, you can draw + reanimate on the end step for what will probably be a 3- for- 1. Having two sequences on this card that may be better than counter + draw is saying something serious about the power level we are looking at.
Maybe I'm overhyping this interaction, but I really do believe it is one of the very best things you can do in UW control. And that's not considering that we may get another good 2- cmc card to reanimate.

Selling some cards I don't want.
Generally less than tcg mid.
We also have a WG command command as well. Depending on how good that is we may have a new deck. Here's hoping!
I can't wait until the UB command is revealed. Here is a guess:
Choose two-
1. Duress or Despise effect
2. Negate
3. Into the Roil without the card draw
4. Agony Warp or a similar destruction effect.

Don't think duress or despise would be on it, despise already in block and duress is on Mardu Charm.
however the rest seems cool.
