Ugh, I just... no, really, what's next, a sub-game of Jenga? A hula hoop contest? Wii Sports Bowling? How old is their intended target consumer for this crap?
like i said, you are such a grown up. i bet you are at least 18. so mature....
really i hate people who think they are not allowed to have fun with silly games anymore once they turn 18..
If you're going to call people out and randomly pin upon them some type of person that you don't like, you need to have better aim than that. I'm 32, and it's been quite a few years since I stopped caring about what impression certain people get about me based on my pastimes. I'm a grown man, married with kids, I pretty much don't have to impress anyone anymore. I do what I want. Now what I want to do with my scarce free time is not to toss bits of plastic on other bits of plastic, fingers crossed. I'm playing this game and other games because I want an intellectual challenge, I want to be forced to think hard and strategize because no other parts of my life demand that. What I'm saying is that this is miles away from what I want out of this game, which makes me feel like I'm not the target audience for prereleases.
How does that post of yours look now?

Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.
Still, you are not forced to do it. It's free bonus stuff. If you don't like it, just get your 6 packs, and play sealed. I for example never cared for those achievment cards on pre releases, but some people have fun with them. So just let them no-one stops you from just playing the game. I just don't get why people complain about things they could just ignore. Pre releases are for casuals. And those people like to get free stuff, because they bssicly never get in price booster range. That's the way wotc motivates those casuals to attend pre releases. And I'm totally fine with that
I'm confused. The cards from this minigame, are they the promos for the prerelease, or are they a bonus and there are actual, guaranteed promos? Is it possible the only promo you'll get from the prerelease is an Evolving Wilds?
I am under the assumption that the Rares/(Mythics?) will be pre-release seeded booster stamped as your prerelease promo. As it was in Khans and Fate pre-release events.
Man its like this game is all about goblins/dragons. At least I know now that a R/B goblin token Brutal GHordechief awful deck is possible!

So it's believed that this minigame is in addition to the standard five normal boosters, one seeded booster, and pre-release stamped promo. Okay, thank you.

Yes, the minigame promos are in addition to whatever you get in your sealed pool.
I like the fact that there are only 4 cards - as the game was originally pitched, I was expecting a full cycle of rare dragon promos (which makes my OCD hurt). This seems reasonable - the cards will be difficult, but not impossible to get. This is the spot that giveaway promos like this should occupy.

I'd play the rare. But how I'd play it is very much limited. Block Constructed. Who plays that anymore? Like nobody. But it would do well, as there is enough mana ramp and "this fights that" cards in the block for it to be sort of worthwhile.

It's problematic because Im paying for it. Part of the reason to go to a prerelease is the promo cards, its one of the big incentives Wizards offers to encourage you to show up. Wizards used to give me a Wumcoil or an Emrakul for coming to a prerelease. Now they want to make me jump through hoops to get them, and I don't like it. If you want to give out a ton of uncommon/common promos and only a few rares, well then give them out for prize support.
The money that was wasted on devising this idiotic promotion and manufacturing it was money that could have been better spent on an artist to do another promo card. Thats why I, and other people who don't like it need to say something.

You keep using that word, but you have no concept of what it means. The Promo is not free, nothing that Wizards gives you is free. WOTC is a business, they sell you a product, and a fixed portion of the money they get from that product goes toward promotional materials, so that they can sell you more product. Whatever we get from that money is in place of all the other things we could have at that same price point. They used to offer promotional cards, mythics like Wurmcoil and Emrakul, to entice you to buy six boosters and play in a sealed event. Now they entice you to buy six boosters by saying one will be a "special" booster with a promo.
Wizards has decreased the quality of prerelease incentives, and they're trying alternatives to draw people in. Saying, "Show up and get big flashy card X" is a lot more enticing than, "show up and get one of several possible random things." Last prerelease they had the Ugin's Fate boosters, and now they're doing this game. I have no doubt by the next event it will be something completely different. I'm complaining not just about this awful idea, but about all the awful ideas that are sure to follow it. Wizards needs to go back to just offering people a cool promo. It appeals to competitive and casual players alike. Just give it out to people when the tournament is done or when they drop, and you avoid the problem of having to tell them its a card they can't play in their deck.
The only thing that annoys me is this, multiple possible pre-release stamped card. One of 5 or more! Per COLOR! As a collector I am disgruntled by this fact.
A seeded booster isn't the same as a regular booster at all. It could include 15 cards, broken down thusly.
1 Pre-release Promo in color of kit choice. Same one in each blue kit, not random.
1 Random Rare from a pool in color of kit. (As how the KTK/FRF promos have been)
3 Uncommons seeded to color
10 commons/lands seeded to color
Then trading for those pre-release promos becomes easier, decks of same color have a bit of a mindgame since they know at least 1 card available to each other could be a bomb.

You realize they used to do this, then the illusion of getting to pick and play your favorite color got heavily skewed by which promos were considered the best/worst ones?
For M15, we had a 100 person prerelease where the organizer decided to do it first come, first served, no prereg. The last ~15 people all were stuck with blue and a decent chunk of the people before them were given the choice of either green or blue. Now, you can argue the logistical problems, but when it's so blatantly obvious which box is the one no one wants then something has to change.
ETA: Just checked on TCGPlayer and you can get most of the promos for under a buck apiece, so if what you care about is owning the cards (as opposed to specifically trading for them) it shouldn't be too hard to get ahold of them.

Maybe they should stop spoiling the set before pre-releases then. That would put everybody at the same advantage and actually bring back the air of mystery the game once had. They can still talk about mechanics and development stories for that one week before it sets off, and then bum rush the cards out in the articles the next before full release.
You can definitely look at the potential list of 30 odd pre-release promos and decide. It's just a game of chance as to which one you get.
I am mainly coming from the perspective of a collector, which is generally treated like crap by wizards. Ugin's Fate Promo Ugin planeswalker secondary market of $100+. Yeahhhhh great.

Oh, I get it now.
You just want Wurmcoils and Emrakuls again, and somehow you blame the gimmick activities for not getting them. Sorry pal, but that is not how it goes, and it is not gonna happen.
First, they will not go back to mythic for promo. They said it clearly.
Second, and this is a common misconception - the prereleases are not exactly typical tournaments, and are meant not to be. These are focused more on the fun part, to attract new players, to give even casual players a shot and a taste of competitive Magic. For this, the strategy chosen now is far more convenient. The choice of your faction, the multiple promos, the playable promo..everything is subjected to this strategy, to appeal to new or beginner players.
Do you consider yourself a competitive player? Then the prereleases are not tourneys for you. Because you are not the kind of people who keep Magic running.

The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
ETA: Just checked on TCGPlayer and you can get most of the promos for under a buck apiece, so if what you care about is owning the cards (as opposed to specifically trading for them) it shouldn't be too hard to get ahold of them.
Thirteen of them are available for $1 or under. Thirty-two more are under $5. So that's 45/70. That's still paying over $45 for the cheapest (roughly) half, as opposed to $15 for the lot as it was last year. Forget about Siege Rhino or Soulfire Grand Master - can you imagine what this would have done to Golgari packs if Abrupt Decay and Deathrite Shaman were options?

Just a side note. My shop received their kit as well. Apparently the number of promos they receive is based on BASE allocation.
So if your store has 150 pre-release kits and 20 growth kits. They will receive 150 of the LAND promo
After that, they receive less and less of each other promo. So like 120 of the common and 90 of the uncommon. My LGS only received 20 of the rare, so the rare is very limited.
And the dice bowling game is really easy.
