I've been starting to think that Ugin is somehow responsible for the streak in his hair. Ugin is a jadeish/blue and I bet the next piece of lore we get regarding Ugin waking up from his cocoon will give Sarkhan this new look along with new traits.
It would be great to see Sarkhan RUG in DTK if he appears as a planeswalker again. Heck I would be okay if he was WUBRG and be shown as the "Khan of dragons." I mean he would technically be the father of the dragons since he intervened for Ugin all those years ago. Maybe some of the Brood knows that he intervened.

That makes no sense at all.
First: The Dragonlords are older that Sarkhan, which makes Sarkhan being their father impossible. Second: Even if he saved them, saving someone doesn't make you their father (at least in my cultural background). Third: None of the Dragonlords has any idea what happen and how Tarkir looked without them. They just went down their timeline and have no idea there is another.
I didn't mean he was literally their father. He saved Ugin which allowed the dragons to flourish. We know that the dragons die if he doesn't intervene. Think of him more as a god than a father.
Although extremely unlikely, the other dragons may know about what he did. Heck, if he wakes Ugin, Ugin may tell them what he did. Maybe his name will finally mean something and he becomes lord (khan) of the dragons.
He appears to be much different than any of the other dragons in size and form, but they have all seemed to accept him or at least ignore him.

If I were in R&D's shoes, doing a time travel set whereby the protagonist goes back in time and comes back... Add the fact he changes 1000 years of Tarkian history... Don't you think it makes sense to see the changes in him?
I'm not sure about you, but the majority of an audience would like to see what happens to the main character. Would he still be unaffected? There's physical changes in him as well. The streaks of bluish-silver hair, the change in garb... If it doesn't hint at another version I'd shocked.
I also believe this is the very first time we MIGHT get to see the same walker in a block too? Wizards loves gimmicks like these. It's the perfect situation to do the same walker with different skillsets.

If you read yesterday's Uncharted Realms, it seems that Vol came through the changes without changing himself.
Now, this doesn't preclude there being ANOTHER Sarkhan Vol - perhaps the Vol from this timeline never ignited his spark and is part of the "resistance" with Narset.

Sarkhan teleported back to the "current day", solving a few time traveling problems.
The same characters were born, but alternative -> just like Back to the Future, yay!
Changing time also changes you -> not if you teleport your current self.
Changing time makes you unborn -> well, Sarkhan just teleported himself, so who cares that his history unhappened. This is where they don't follow BTTF, but hey that'd be too complicated.
Sarkhan still has memories of the "old" Tarkir timeline -> he's still the same guy after teleporting. But it seems like his parallel memories are fading when he gets in touch with the new.
I don't believe there to be an additional Sarkhan (too complicated), nor an alternative Sarkhan.
From a game perspective, I'm thinking of A LOT of throwbacks to KTK cards. From Ankle Shanker to the legends, to KTK cards with mechanics replaced.
If I had to bet, I'd bet on getting a new Sarkhan planeswalker and him being Mardu colors. He'll be only the second tri-color planeswalker. My next bet is we get a Narset planeswalker and she is either U/W or U/W/R.

To tell the truth, the Ankle Shanker reference was messed up. The Guide talks about the character Yasimin Ankleshank. Ankle Shanker is just a name of the card. Somebody messed up...again. But with the whole page looking like it was given last year to a bunch of newbies, and quite frequent factual errors and later erratas in the articles (in such high frequency never seen before), I am not wondering anymore.

Well his look is totally different and is now spotting a different lock of hair, and is now topless instead of his garb in Sarkhan, Dragonspeaker. Correct me if I'm wrong. The pic in question is why we're discussing it.

Uncharted Realms hinted that Narset is "gone", so one possibility is her spark has already ignited... maybe we won't meet her here, but later.
Hot damn, I love how the Rumor Mill just turns into the Baseless Speculation subforum in between spoiler seasons.
A tiny snippet of concrete info, and then pages upon pages of theorycrafting.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
I suspect that Sarkhan becomes the Unbroken when he awakes Ugin. Ugin most likely imparts some kind of enlightenment or knowledge unto him which leads him to being so. And it would explain the streak of blue in his hair. I think we'll be getting a new Sarkhan, but not a Narset planeswalker like many others are speculating.

I don't think so. If they had a new artwork of Thrunn or Varolz, sure, those are known trolls, but if they won't print new Sarkhan using this artwork they might as well change his name to Sarkhastic.
At the very least I believe that Sarkhan will be r/g but between the pictures given, maro's tumblr response about 1 or 2 wedge cards in dtk, and the clarity he has gained from coming back to the new present I'm going to join the R/U/G Sarkhan camp. I can't see him having black in his color identity as to me it represented his descent into madness which he has since been freed of with the release of Ugin from his mind.

Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker wasn't enough?

Sarkhan meaning Dragon
Vol means Flying
On his homeworld it would turn into Great Khan Flying
