Name me any one legendary that has been reprinted in a none-core, none-time spiral block set?
Oh right, that never happened. They only do one on one reprints of legendaries in supplemental products.

Using the past to justify the future isn't the way to go about it. We're going into new territory where Wizards doesn't have a core set to reprint legendary creatures that could be legal in standard. Sure they could use a functional reprint and not end up reprinting Linvala at some point in the future. But to act like it's a foregone conclusion that Linvala won't get reprinted (not saying I agree that she will) is erroneous.
After seeing the list, I'm sure this FTV will eventually head down the path of FTV: Dragons. Dragons and Angels are probably among the most commonly-collected creature-type cards, so they share a lot of similarity there.
If we take the current values of their non-foil regular counterparts as their pricing, Angels is probably losing out slightly on the value overall, but FTV: Angels has two Commander-Released cards that were not possible to obtain in foil before (Archangel of Strife and Tariel, Reckoner of Souls). Usually these foils will command a higher value than the normal counterparts since there's no other way to obtain them.
Due to the collectible factor, an unopened FTV: Angels would eventually even out to about the price range of FTV: Dragons.
Seems like good fan service for the angel collectors but I will save some money with it not including Linvala. And for those who think she will be in Zendikar just take a look at Damnation. After missing FTV we thought MM2015 or standard .... ha They are setting up chase cards for the next Modern Masters. That is when we will get Linvala and Damnation.
And wizards all I ask for next year is a FTV: No White Cards

As the resident angel collector for my playgroup I'm fairly happy with this product, with condolences to those who can't get this at/near MSRP, as such is often the way of FTV sets. My only major complaints would be that B and G don't get much out of this set. For G it's to be expected due to their slice of the color pie, but B angels have always been popular and as much as I like them, I'd have much rather seen Archangel of Strife or Iridescent Angel (that art is a treat though) take a backseat to something B.
Alt-art Exalted Angel more than makes up for that complaint though.
How much are these foil versions worth compared to their normal counterparts? I have heard from a friend they are not worth as much as real foils, but are they worth more than the standard versions? And do you think Serra angel with the alt art will go for anything?

They traditionally go for less than their standard printing if the art is the same, the standard is available foil, and the foil isn't horrendously expensive. Alt arts usually go for just about standard. Cards that don't have foil versions can be quite a lot more, though.

Only art I like so far are the Akromas. Another ftv dud (money wise). If you can get it msrp that be great but pretty sure retailers will just bump it up cuz... reasons (Angelic reasons).

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
I'm normally negative on how Wizards does reprints but I think this is actually a really good set they put together. I would totally buy for MSRP but from past experiences that will not be the case if I even see a box set somewhere.
Was hoping for Desolation Angel but I'm still happy with the product. I like all the alternate arts this time around and can't wait to add this set to my collection.
My LGS is taking preorders for 55 Euros a pop, so just a little bit north of 60 dollars. I am statisfied with that price point.

Granted, I will be very displeased if I am the unlucky person but my chances are still good.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.

Honestly, I don't mind paying 60 bucks for this. My LGS has a bunch of really cool people, free drinks and a lot of playing room, they put up with us so much, paying them a bit of a premium at times isn't something I dislike. And they're not price gouging either.
Had it gone over the 70 mark, I'd be more hestitant. I think 60 dollars is a very fair price for this, mostly due to the Avacyn and the high collectability of some of these cards as opposed to their playability.

I wish I could find this for $60 though. My LGS closed down and the only one open in the area already had a sign up list for it that I missed out on due to school. So the internet is my only recourse, and at $75+, it's just not a fair price.

Of course I think $75 is way too much for something that has absolutely no value to me, but it's still a fair price based on what makes a price fair or not (my opinion has no bearing on the fairness in the market).
