My wish list Would be something like this 01 Akroma, Angel of Fury (new art by Terese Nielsen)
02 Akroma, Angel of Wrath (new art by Terese Nielsen)
03 Angel of Despair
04 Archangel of Thune
05 Avacyn, Angel of Hope (original art)
06 Baneslayer Angel
07 Desolation Angel
08 Fallen Angel
09 Iona, Shield of Emeria (new art by Jason Chan)
10 Jenara, Asura of War
11 Karmic Guide
12 Linvala
13 Platinum Angel
14 Serra Angel (art by Rebecca Guay)
15 Tariel, Reckoner of Souls (original art)
Am I the only one bothered by the inclusion of Serra Angel? I feel that after the final list is revealed it will prove to be a card that took the place of a better angel. I understand the historical aspect of Serra Angel, but it was even downgraded from rare to common and it basically appeared in almost every core set. I feel very cheated.
You know, most of the time I would say that you can't possibly be the only one feeling this way or that; This time is an exception. Literally everyone except you must have immediately though "Oh Serra angel is classic and definitely will be in this." Well, she is, and with art that never appeared on a playable card by a widely beloved artist. Dude, the actual crap cards are coming. Unless you get hype about angelic page...

My favorite flavor text: Time of Heroes
Feel free to tell me yours!
If that is the case, then I need about 100 of these. I *love* Angel of Despair, and I would greatly like a new art for her!
Would be awesome if it's for Angel of Despair, or the aforementioned Karmic Guide. But with the nice cards spoiled already, I'm skeptical the new art will be on something good. Probably on a filler card like Guiding Spirit or Haunted Angel.

If it gets new artwork or it's original artwork, at least depicting an angel, I wouldn't be upset. I already have foils of every angel I could want from here, so junk angels with cool new art is all I expect after being thoroughly disappointed with Avacyn not getting any of her many alternate arts.
With MM2 Iona can be bought online for $7. Better hope to god that's not a "money card."
Yeah I kept the comments from before MM2 was announced. Iona is cheap now, but she was money back then. I actually really like the new art they gave her so she may still be worth a few dollars.
But Avacyn comes *after* anything that starts with "Ar".
Thank you for pointing that out. I had intended on removing Angelic Page in that spot but when I was copying, I pasted Archangel in the wrong spot and totally forgot what I was going to do.
I just can't imagine they would include Linvala and seemingly not put her on the box for promotional purposes, as her and Avacyn are the money cards. Don't get me wrong, Linvala would be amazing, would love her in, i just don't see that happening. I also think the mystery art is karmic guide now.

Well, s/he is a *hopeful* Hawkeye.
I can see Entreat the Angels in this, that's a fair call (Entreat and Memorial are my picks for "Not actually a creature" in this FTV). Angel of Despair, sure, she's classic and an EDH staple in her colors. Baneslayer? Maybe. She was the first "money mythic", and while she's down a bit she's certainly still a powerful creature. I think it would be a solid choice, even though I'm not as confident as our Iowan friend in WOTC actually going for it.
Linvala? Nope. No way. Linvala would be a major selling point for the set, and she would definitely have been revealed already (and be on the face of the box) to generate hype.
Besides, FTV is a HORRIBLE place to reprint competitive Modern cards. It really doesn't increase the supply enough. If she's to be reprinted, BFZ block or Modern Masters III would be much more appropriate places to see her.

I hope everyone reads and understands this. FtV:XXXXXXX has always been a place to reprint casual/collector cards.
BUT, they tend to have a little bit of Modern action going on in these sets....
From the Vault: Annihilation - Firespout is the closest thing to a "Modern Staple" in this set, so bad example.
From the Vault: Dragons - Dragonstorm was a playable deck in Extended when this came out, but it's dead now.
From the Vault: Exiled - 0 Modern playable.
From the Vault: Legends - Kiki-Jiki is it.
From the Vault: Realms - I see 3-4 cards that one might call Modern Staples in there. This set is sort of ****y though.
From the Vault: Relics - Aether Vial.
From the Vault: Twenty - Does Venser see enough play to count?
So, Linvala being the only competitive Modern Angel doesn't exclude her from the set. But there's also part of me that sees her as being a bad fit just based on flavor.
I'm not sure Linvala would be an on the box type of card. The cards on the box scream TIMMAY and Linvala's power is much more subtle. It could go either way though and I'd be happy with Karmic Guide as well.
There's a good case that a lot of these predictions will probably prove true at least. This means we have a valuable FTV, finally.
Isnt that card where Karona destroys Skirk ridge and kills untold amounts of goblins?

SonofaBith - Wizards was so excited about making the packaging for Modern Masters 2 recyclable, they decided to make most of the rares and all but 1 of the UC's recycle-bin ready too. Convenient!

Yeah, but Gals, a lot of those came out before Modern was a thing. And Grove in Realms didn't start shooting up until well after the FTV was printed - it could've been had for $14 for the longest time. Everyone thought that the money in that box was Maze of Ith.
I'm not saying that Linvala would be excluded just because she's a competitive angel, I'm just saying that they would have told us by now if they were going to put her in here. They *know* that she's expensive, and that people want more.
I guess we'll find out tomorrow, one way or another.

Iunno about the "They'd have announced her if she's in" thing. Look at what we do have:
Two Akromas, and Akroma is pretty much THE most iconic angel after Serra Angel, complete with glorious new art.
Tariel, who has never been foil before, and is as such sure to have quite a bit of demand as well.
Iona, another modern staple who still commands a few bucks, also with new art.
Serra Angel, THE iconic angel, with iconic previously nigh-unobtainable art.
Avacyn, the biggest casual fan favorite as far as angels go, and definitely the face of the box due to her status as a pricey timmylicious card.
There's already enough in there to get both Timmies and collectors salivating at the thought. Linvala is not the kind of card that generates such a response from anyone but the hardcore tournament players, she's much more low-profile. Therefore, I think there's a good reason she's not revealed yet - provided she's even in.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.

I would like to believe that if ever, Linvala will pass appearance for this FTV and appear in BFZ. She was after touted by her flavor text to be some sort of leader of the new halo-less Angels (even though IIRC she wasn't really in the continuity pre-Origins Retcon)

While true, one on one reprints of legendary creatures in non-supplemental sets is not something I ever recall them doing. If Linvala returns in BfZ, it's more likely a new card instead of the same. See, for example, the new Glissa, Niv-Mizzet, Teysa, and various others. Which is why I think a reprint in BfZ is a small chance. Her absence in MM2 also might hint to an FTV appearance. Linvala isn't a huge modern player, so a reprint of her isn't as needed as of some other cards, so they might go for a smaller scale one.
Do note that I'm far from certain that Linvala actually appears here. I'd be happy if so - I've secured my box - but yeah.
