Anyone surprised that Jace will now be having a story dedicated to him even though we just did one in RTR? When are we finally going to talk about Tezzeret as a main character or Tamiyo? I'm getting tired of Jace, the only reason people like him is because ussually his cards are strong.
Well, Jace is understood as something of the "avatar" of Magic players in general. Clearly, the proper thing for Wizards to do is to take the also-blue but technologically superior Tezzeret and make him into the avatar of the forum-going Magic players.
No, thank you.
Liliana or bust. The rest are just a bunch of boy scouts.
Akki_Akki, as a rock goblin, please answer this: If rocks would rock, how much would they rock?
Depends on how hard Akki_Akki is throwing rocks at rocks to make them rock while they are rocking out.
Jace is the Posterboy for MTG.
Liliana or Chandra for Postergirl for MTG.
Akki_Akki find it a bit weird we don't have a multicolor walker to follow around and be center stage. Akki_Akki talk of Urza who played large role. There is Nicol Bolas but he is cast as Villian and we don't really follow him that much.
Akki_Akki have no problem with Jace getting more of a fleshed out backstory, it was kept a bit vague. Normally Akki_Akki might be a bit annoyed, but all five of them are getting a more fleshed out backstory.
Akki_Akki guess only reason we not following Karn is because Karn is he preoccupied with New Phyrexia.

We got something with Tezzeret as the main character, and it was terrible, but it firmly established his backstory, which wasn't actually that bad, unless timetravel bull***** in the story hints that the entire thing is an AU. But I have a feeling they won't be eager to return to Tezzeret focused storytelling again for a while.
Tamiyo would have been great though.
And I don't think people really 'like' Jace because his cards are strong, if anything, I think more people dislike him because of that. Jace is popular because he isn't focused on something (like artifacts for Tezzeret), and isn't a girl, and blue is a popular color. Well, that and because Garruk is kinda weird, Chandra is flighty, Liliana is treacherous and disliked for making demon pacts in the first place and generally unsympathetic, and Ajani's a cat.
IMO, Jace is weird and his intelligence in the lore he turns up in is purely informed (Jace solves a puzzle, Jace does a cool magic ability that only 'intelligent' people are able to use, Jace's intelligence is praised by character X), while everything he does seems to be stupid and prone to cause him trouble in the near future (why does he have a habit of erasing his own memories for the sake of plot? oh yeah, bad questionable writing and books written by different authors and character with no potential for growth between books like some kind of episodic character from a weird TV show who has to re-learn the same lesson every episode).
It also helps that Jace is the first blue neowalker card character, and blue is a popular color.
I think all of the blue walkers have potential, (well, sorta, Venser is dead, Ral Zerek is annoying, and Bolas is deliciously evil) but it depends heavily on the writing. So far, Tezzeret has gotten pretty bad overall writing, but was actually kinda cool in it despite that, Venser has HISTORY, Jace has had decent writing that got inappropriately repeated in plot points and conflict aspects, Tamiyo has basically nothing about her, and Kiora has hardly anything either.
I'd love for them to go more into detail for Kiora and Tamiyo. Would be better than getting told again that Jace is intelligent and talented while he does something stupid on screen.
@AvalonAurora
Yeah I suppose so I just hate how Jace has seen way more prints than anyone else. Jace Beleren has been printed 5 times (2 core sets, 1 Lorwyn, 1 duel deck and one super expensive Media Insert. Seriously that insert version is more expensive than his Mindsculptor card. Jace, Memory Adept was printed 4 times (3 core sets and one media insert). Jace the Mindsculptor (ridonculously powerful) was printed twice (one in Worldwake and the other in From the Vault) and added to a special online only set, vintage masters. Jace, Architect of Thought was printed twice (One in RtR and a duel deck). Jace, Living Guildpact was printed twice (Once in Core set and a a media insert).
Thats a total of 13 card printings since Lorwyn. Where two of the prints are well over $150 for a card. Not to mention we have never seen a different blue walker in a core set and he has received 2 duel decks and is the only walker to date to be in a FtV.
You suggested earlier that people liked the character Jace because his cards are strong. That's not true, but don't you think that's a much better explanation for why those cards get reprinted a lot? I must say, counting promos is an odd metric for gauging... whatever it is you're trying to gauge here. As is secondary market value of hard-to-get promos (and seriously, a hard-to-get promo of a playable card is expensive? Stop the presses!). JTMS in FTV:20, for instance, is indicative of nothing more than that card's power and significance in Magic's tournament history, they definitely didn't put it in there because the character depicted was popular.
I want to cast a vote on Ravnica being Chandra's first planeswalk plane, because where else would she get her Izzet gear from?
Good question. Akki_Akki agree that Izzet make sense. Her armor always steampunk to Akki_Akki.
Didn't we have confirmation it was of Izzet origins?
We do. It was from DotP 2014.
Out of all of them, Ravnica really makes sense with Chandra if any.
And it mentions Chandra has visited Ravnica in the Return to Ravnica planeswalker guide.

Is Young Lillianna's dress gold and white, or black and blue? I can't tell.
It's white, gold and green
White? Green?
EEEEEWWWWWW Rider melonheads.
Blue and Gold is where it's at.
To be serious, DaryCR's post is about this dress that to some people looks blue and black, and to some others it looks white and gold. I thought it was white and gold, then I looked at the image. Blue and black. Then I looked at it again. White and gold. My brother thought it was initially white and gold, then he looked at it, it was blue and black, then looked at it the third time, still blue and black. It was an epic optical illusion.

Awkward.
Always looks the same to me.
We aren't talking about liliana's dress. It is this dress
Gah, While I was looking up google images it was white and gold, and now it looks blue and black.
I don't find it too ridiculous that two separate planes banned fire magic. Perhaps they both realized that it's dangerous or something. Maybe chandra had something to do with it
No, thank you.

She was there during the scroll storyline iirc, and I think that's where it was stolen from.
