I really like her design and art. I'm sad she's rare because, had she been Mythic, she might have had the same stats and effect for 6 cmc, or even 5 if they were getting brave. -_-
The looks of these dragons really appear like they could be either enemy or ally. Ojutai looks even more UR than Kologhan looks WR. If you compare the art to any other existing pairs, something is very different. I think this is for the dragons to pivot from ally to enemy colors. I suppose they could make them "fake wedge," but that seems more of a transition design for FRF.
None of these dragons so far feel very legendary to me. Except maybe Kolaghan, but even her I don't know. I don't know what it is, either. They just all seem kinda boring.
Anyway, the art on this one is good, but the card itself is pretty bad in everything besides limited
I feel like it is the artwork. Nothing makes these dragons look unique from their broods. Legendary creatures tend to be people or beasts that don't look like anything else. All of them do have dragon lord effects though.
Actually, I have to disagree. Save for the GW one, I greatly enjoy the artwork on each of these and think it's great. I think the problem for me is that these are such utterly generic abilities that have been done so many times, and the dragons just slap a "whenever a dragon attacks" clause on them.
It seems like they could have tried a little harder, you know?
With al of these over costed under powered dragons, Im at the point where Im expecting some artifact or land that doubles mana for castjng and using dragons. Otherwise, these dragons are less than useful.

Oh, I wasn't trying to say that the artwork is bad, just that they are not differentiated from their broods. The art is astounding to be correct. The abilities are generic though as you have stated.

Dunno. They made that crap dragon rainbow mana land. I think they expect us to use it. But yeah these dragons are rather dull. I do like the mini infest on UB dragon. They need more dragons in non red though.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.

At the beginning of your upkeep, put a 1/1 red Dragon creature token with flying onto the battlefield. ~ Deals 1 damage to you.

I'm not sure. This is the problem with doing dragon cycles, dragons are always kinda red inherently.
There are only 6 white dragons and only 5 blue dragons. This guy would see fringe play in edh, you would have to run changelings or ways of giving creature types (onslaught illusions).
Nobody's forcing you to make Ojutai your commander. She works just fine as one of the 99. Scion of the Ur-Dragon has not stopped being a thing.
This creature is most excellent, but I do believe that, for 7 mana, it could have been a 6/6 and still have been balanced, or that it could have been a 5/6 for 6 mana and be balanced.
Has it been confirmed that all five legendary dragons are female? Everyone here is referring to Ojutai as "she," but I not recall her having been stated to be such.
Kolaghan is definitely female, and I'm pretty sure Atarka was female in the DailyMTG story. I don't think the others have been specifically stated, but I'm pretty sure I recall MaRo saying something about gender being interesting with the dragons.
Also, Dromoka and Atarka are both referred to with feminine pronouns in their flavor texts, so at least three of them are female.
Nope, just the most likely one from a biological perspective. Hey maybe dragons on Tarkir are born in storms and baby humans come from storks. IDK. What does it matter though really? It doesn't seem that out of line for a dragon planeswalker to collect the most powerful mates to propagate the species. Hey, maybe that's what the conflict was between Ugin and Bolas. I was always partial to the idea that dragons could be hermaphorditic or dimorphic. But eh,different plane, different rules. I guess if it makes more women and girls interested in the game I'm all for it.

The big trade off between this and Archon is that this can go off a turn faster. Since it activates from a Dragon attacking, not itself. Doubtful that's really enough to make it playable without a major increase in Dragon populations in DTK.
Ur-Dragon EDH is probably just happy about all the things it can do.
