I wouldn't underestimate how broken this card could be.
Wizards never gives cards that tap for 2 without crazy drawbacks especially these days.
It's hardly Karametra's Acolyte which was very overcosted. Can't go expecting a strictly better Elvish Mystic so this guy is costed as cheap as possible.
Here's a tip for you: the purpose of this card is NOT attacking and blocking...
True, but having even 1 power is often relevant - there are reasons why people choose Satyr Wayfinder over Grisly Salvage to get cards in the yard.
The most notable of those reasons is not playing black or Grisly Salvage not being Standard-legal right now. Otherwise, going 5 cards deep instead of 4, instant speed, and being able to grab creature cards is much better than leaving behind a 1/1.
Monogreen would maybe like this, but once the Ferocious trigger is active, you may as well put a huge target on its back, and it doesn't have 3 toughness and Hexproof to protect it. Still, pretty good for a common. Nevertheless, I'm starting to think that we're not going to see a viable replacement for Sylvan Caryatid after it rotates, which is surprising considering how many different three-color strategies Wizards is trying to push.

I would be more willing to bet someone uses their removal on the guy enabling ferocious. As a 0/2 that just taps for a green I wouldnt be sweating it too hard.

Once you get a few triggers you activate ferocious you can then generate infinite mana with a 1 mana artifact rather than a 0 mana artifact meaning you can use your Altar of the Brood.
Might be ok but of course you would still want 4 Sylvan Caryatid. No defender here though.
not being able to target with burn >>>>> conditional extra G and -1 toughness.
0/2 that can attack >>>>> 0/3 with defender
I don't entirely agree with that. Unless you have multiple global buffs in the deck, or you are playing Doran, The Siege Tower, I'd rather the 0/3. Especially considering that the 0/3 has hexproof.
I'm not amazed by the card, but for a common, it's alright.
This is a bad card. The ferocious ability is the definition of win more, and the regular usage is 1 mana too much. Should have costed only G, but then it would be almost strictly better than elvish mystic. I could only see this being played if there are no reprints of mystic or other decent mana dorks. Limitied only.

well, if i recall, when they were both standard, decks ran a combination of both. But decks that went all out always ran a set of Wayfinder because you didn't want to accidentally mill a Gisly Salvage away, milling a Wayfinder was better, and even if you left a 1/1 behind, it's going to chump and end up in the grave anyway.
point is, the graveyard decks care more about creatures hitting the bin, so people run less of the noncreature mill

They choose it because it itself is its own body to put in the yard.

I'm not sure if I follow. Both puts things in the yard, but have slightly different applications and time stamps.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
for constructed, there is no reason to not run moneybanks catyrid. not being able to target with burn >>>>> conditional extra G and -1 toughness.
I guess it's okay in limited. seeing how christ almighty slow it is with a big bubble of 3cmc and 5cmc cards.
Maybe her regular speaking voice is so loud that it would shatter everyone's eardrums.

It's a 2/4 as soon the new GW dragon swings in (if you don't have a Mystic out).

again, this is in the context of standard, where removal is more plentiful and there is no Sword of Feast and Famine or Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite
