This card will be the worst rare in RTR and less remembered than skaab ruibator in three months. It struggles to be on the same power level as mass of ghouls, even in limited.
That its not simply "not good enough for competitive", or underpowered. But that this is offensively bad, the real stinker tier.
Still, my best evaluation is that its approximately on the same power level as a 4/4 for 4 vanilla beater.
It's Godzilla breath. Did you see the most recent movie? That's what their design reminds me of, and the breath looks like it came out of the movie. "Mini" flying Godzillas mmmmmm....
Supplant Form seems awful. 6 mana bounce spell that only takes care of one creature. But they made a promo of it. Am I hideously underestimating it?
It's Instant-speed. That's why it's good. It could seriously turn the game around in certain circumstances. With all of the fatties in this format, being able to bounce an attacker, and then have it swing back in the opponent's face the next turn is pretty good. The six-mana requirement is the only thing keeping it from being an auto-include in a Standard control deck. Even still, Hornet Queen would be a prime target for a control deck if you have enough mana for a Distainful Stroke after this resolves.
Suspiscious why it has double colored mana, while the others dont.
But damn ! 2 +1/+1 counters in each of my combat. Mantis Rider 5/5 suddenly & more
& of course its oK at defense too.
i guess the U,R & W Sieges are the superion ones.

I don't know, bouncing your opponent's big scary dragon and getting a token for yourself seems pretty nice. Could still be too expensive for constructed though.
The best thing about Citadel Siege is that it can do something the turn it comes down, you don't have to wait a turn to start putting counters on your creatures.
The Phoenix is all around amazing. Chandra's Phoenix had the same kind of stats, and a similar ability and it saw play to death so I don't think this card will be overlooked, especially in standard. The warrior is also quite good, seeing is there is already a deck that wants him and could probably use the extra one drop. Also dash on it is great seeing as he won't be dead as a late game draw and can come out swinging. Got to say I was a little iffy on the whole dash thing but I'm warming up to it quickly. I'm actually kind of hoping there are no abusable blink effects to keep dash creatures out or it could be kind of stupid.
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.
Mardu Warriors looks like more and more of a thing. The 2/1 dash token generator is absurd. Also the new Hellrider seems miles better besides not having haste.
Supplant form seems like a fine control finisher against midrangey decks, too bad its not so good with Dr. Siege Rhinocerous... Although it does offset the ETB life loss. EOT bounce, next turn counter your threat and i have one of my own seems good with almost anything, against Whip decks its even better.
The phoenix seems good, especially given that it doesnt need a Temur shell to work. It's a matter of finding where it fits. Jeskai Ascendancy could help it do some crazy work.
Having your Hornet Queen bounced is the best thing in the world though, since you still get 4 Hornets and will get 4 more when you replay it
It just seems terrible against any creature that isn't more than 5 mana.
Might be decent in commander though, that's probably what they designed it for.
It's not the best thing in the world if the Hornet Queen then gets Distainful Stroke'd on the recast, which anyone piloting a control deck using the bounce/clone spell should know to have available before bouncing a Hornet Queen (unless you can swing for lethal next turn).
Still there are better things to do with 6 mana, unfortunately. It would've been broken at 4 mana, but I don't know why they wouldn't cost it at 5. Maybe there's a prime fattie target yet to be revealed in this or the next set that would've make the spell too good at 5?
Supplant Form seems overcosted. It costs MORE than Clone + Unsummon, but it could be abused with the right setup.
It costs 1 more because you're getting both effects from one card instead of two. I'd say it's costed perfectly. The only problem is that the creatures I most want to copy are often the ones I don't want to bounce, such as Siege Rhino, but there's enough good targets for it to be playable.
Just to make sure - the Phoenix's ability can be used at instant speed, right?
If so, I can imagine playing the Phoenix turn 3, Butcher of the Horde turn 4 sac Phoenix for haste, turn 5 at the beginning of combat revive the Phoenix, sac it, and then bring it back again with Butcher's ability on the stack!
Anyway, I liked the Phoenix, but i dont think it will see much play, unless something like Big Red appears, i guess...
There aren't many 4 power creatures that would go into a Red or R/B or R/W Aggro deck. It needs a big something, enough big somethings to make the ferocity trigger useful likely slows the deck down beyond where it wants to go.

Nice job Wizards scheduling Game Day on Valentine's Day...don't want any players who are in relationships (that both don't play magic) to get any of this stuff? lol

No, it's not instant speed. It's a triggered ability. It triggers at the beginning of combat. If you pay the cost when the ability resolves to bring the phoenix back, then sac the phoenix, the ability won't trigger again until your next combat (assuming you still have ferocious).

For a RARE, though, I would assume the cost to at least be equal to the two cards it combines, maybe at 3UU.
Also can do fun things with Jeskai ascendancy.. discard it as you dig pump creatures enough to get it into play cheaply.
The clone is too high cmc unfortunately but the shadowspear might turn up if there is a deck for it yet another 2 power one drop for black.

Suplant Form is heavy, but is good. I can see it being played as a one off in blue decks.

i choose Khans. Do i have to attack, if i wanna get the counters ? or can i just skip & gain counters anyway ?
