And the last one hopefully a red dragon as they can't print 'the dragon set' without actually it having an epic red dragon creature. The art from yesterday's Uncharted Realms still needs a card and that's probably it.
Yep. Because it's obvious that Fate Reforged, and not, you know, Dragons of Tarkir is going to be "the dragon set".
I think what he meant was that since it has been revealed that FRF will have the largest as-fan of dragons appearing in boosters than any other set in history, it's likely that dragons appearing across all rarities is extremely likely, and having the traditional red mythic be a dragon like has been the staple in 7 out of the last 8 booster sold sets seems to make sense.
Does no one think this has standard impact? It is basically untap with it and win. With ramp in Sultai, you could have this out turn 4, and all your creatures are unblockable from turn 5 on. AND it is hard to kill with 5 body. I think it will be a big player, personally. Especially in Temur.
It costs less
Has build in evasion
Cannot be permanently removed with exile effects
Titan is chumped for days and too prone to removal by virtue of it's stats alone. Ever hear UB players bemoaining that PLA costs them too much tempo if it gets killed? Yea this thing wont ever die as long as you can exile it which does not seem all that hard with Murderous Cuts and DTT/Cruises in your deck.

You have a good point that it's only a Dig Through Time away from the exile heap and coming back. Possible a good win condition for UB control.
To, um, block flying creatures? To interact with Gravitational Shift and Windreader Sphinx? To reflect the fact that the creature isn't bound by gravity?
Combo with Thousand Winds?
Attack with morphed Winds and Torrent, unmorph, 5 damage and no enemy board all you have to do is replay the Torrent.
Anyway, the last time we had a card that tapped everything and had flying it remained a hugevalue card for a long time. I know that this is super different, but the similarities are there; flying and taps the opponents board for an alpha strike. It has less damage and no haste, but I'm sure Blue can work with it.
Likely not the same power level, but this will be a good card.
Maybe he just turns a blind eye to anything that is blue colored. He probably *reflected* and now thinks returning from exile is a part of the ever-consuming blue color pie slice.
Technically speaking, since you need Black or Green mana to return this to the battlefield from Exile, if anything 'returning from Exile' is a Black or Green ability, not a blue one.
And what's even worse, if I'm not mistaken, up to this point each clan got only the cards that corresponded to their ally pair, that would mean only GW ones for Abzan, quick look at the mythics: 2 white slots already taken, 1 green slot taken, so there's only 1 green left for Abzan and 1 red and 2 black for Mardu, so most likely mythic outcome at the end of this set will be: Sultai 4, Temur, Jeskai and Mardu 3, Abzan 1. Only way to fix that, give Abzan 3 mythics in DTK (which probably won't happen) and leave Sultai completely out. But even then, looking at current rather random mythic distribution considering how each clan is centered you can see that Abzan main color is supported in other clans instead of them:
Abzan - 0 (+ most likely 1G)
Jeskai - 3 (2W, 1U)
Mardu - 1 (1W + most likely 1B + probably 1B or 1R)
Sultai - 4 (2U, 1B, 1G)
Temur - 3 (2G, 1R)
Oh my god who gives a ****? You know you're allowed to play Wingmate Roc, Empty the Pits, or Hooded Hydra in your Abzan deck right?

Whenever someone claims to hate blue I automatically assume they're a bad player.
I'm liking this guy more and more. One of the problems that Sidisi whip can run into is people blocking your Sidisi/zombies when you don't want them to. This guy helps them all sneak through and make more of them (assuming you have Sidisi out, of course). Even better, he plays super nicely with the Whip and delve spells like TC and Murderous Cut. I think I'll find a spot or two for him in my deck.
Also, in modern Scavenging Ooze + Liliana of the Veil like this card too. It may spawn some BUG modern decks. In modern it seems like a decent play in a control deck. Hard to kill, fuels Treasure Cruise and Dig. I think it has some serious potential. The only issue I see is comes into play tapped.

Ooooh this is neat. It's got a decent body for its cost, a powerful static ability and an interesting activated one. Not on the same power level as Soulfire Grand Master or anything, but it should play reasonably interestingly. This cycle of Mythics has been one of the my favourites in the block so far.

it is going to see play in ubg, no question asked.
Close to playable but i think it missed the mark. It either needed to be instant speed or come into play untapped for it's activated ability. Not being able to block after sinking 5 mana into it is pretty bad. On the flip side I love how it enables alpha strikes.

I could see this as a potential finisher in Temur.
It lets your whole board through when it swings. There have been so many times where I've had stalled board states with no way to really finish the game even with mass creature presence. Worth a shot, anyways.
Have you tried Thassa?

"Because we cannot prevent draws in paper Magic we allow IDs. If we could prevent draws we would not have IDs in paper Magic. " Scott Larabee.
Wizards print good rares, players complain about cash grab. They print underwhelming rares, players complain that the cards suck. They spoil the best cards first, players complain about the insane prices of preorders. They spoil the meh cards first, players complain that this is the worst set ever.
So. I think I understand now.
As far as these forums are concerned, WotC can never do anything good because:
Card that is new and probably good = "pushed"
Card that is new and probably bad = "EDH/casual fodder"
Card that is a reprint = "lazy"
Card that is a better version of an older card = "power creep"
Card that is a weaker version of an older card = "worthless"
All five (?!) of this obvious cycle have the distinct odour of development cards. These things probably didn't exist in the design file. They are so incredibly inelegant its not funny.
The white mentor is a very powerful but also elegant mythic. The Grand Master, this guy and the red sorcerer are just ugly and functional.
I really wish they didn't do cycles at mythic rarity. This set is so chalk full of cycles, its as if the whole development team has some sort of cycles-OCD.
My name is BOB, and I have Cycles OCD. I take Lyrica to treat my Cycles OCD.
On a real note, I do like cycles, but this cycle, and the legend cycle, and even the dragons seem pretty... clunky.
I don't understand something about this card. WHY DOES IT HAVE FLYING?
It's functionally unblockable. Why does a functionally unblockable creature need flying??
There's probably a forum somewhere that will explain to you in more detail that flying isn't merely an evasion ability granted to your own creatures, and that creatures with it are also capable of doing this crazy thing called "blocking opponent's flying creatures". Positively bonkers, I know! But I checked with Wizards' Rule Manager, and he ruled that it's totally legit.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

Yes, because monastery flock would make so much flavor sense with reach. If the two are functionally identical why does it matter what they do?
