Limited bomb and I guess it could get out of hand if left unchecked but it still seems underwhelming.
I guess dragon tribal commander is getting 5 autoincludes though.
Edit: though I guess a 7/7 t5 isn't too shabby either.
Perhaps a Naya deck with ramp and stormbreaths? seems pretty okish to play this turn4, turn5 play stormbreath, bolster 2 twice..
Yeah, your mana dorks would get pretty huge pretty quickly. Even if your dragons were killed after they swung, you'd be left with some big fatties for dorks.
I'm wondering if there will be some weaker, cheaper to cast dragons that could more easily trigger the "when a dragon attacks" abilities of these dragons. Otherwise, only the BR one with the Dash ability that gives it haste could reasonably expect to see its ability activated before removal.
I was a bit unimpressed at first but when you really look at it...
5/5 for 5. Thats a fairly nice size for the mana on a flyer.
Its in green... which means you can easily ramp into it.
It buffs mana dorks, which gives further reasons to consider the dorks into dragon plan.
I think its interesting. I was more willing to sweep it under the table at first glance but I don't think its something to just outright dismiss. I dont think its staple but I think it could be more playable than I originally thought.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.

Plus if there are decent dragons in those colors in FRF and DTK, oh boy will his trigger get stupid fast.

Didn't the article with the first dragons spoiler mention something about this having the highest dragon per pack ratio ever? Hopefully that means some cheap good dragons
A flying 5/5 for five, in green/white, which could be cast easily on Turn 3 or 4? I see no reason for this card to receive hate. Can you imagine, attacking with this, and a 3/3 Elvish Mystic, on Turn 4? And we don't even know what the white/blue, or red/green dragon legends will do yet. Who knows? Maybe Naya dragons will be a thing.
They... they made a GW card that rewards you for having creatures of a type that is virtually non-existant in those colors? I guess it's actually quite good if it only triggers itself, but it still feels a bit off. Oh and the art is badass.

Looks like the cycle triggers on attack. Ken Nagle's imprints all over...
They already confirmed this was the case on the article a couple of days ago on the Mothership, when they spoiled Kolaghan.
Designing Your Fate:
Kolaghan has the dash ability. You can read more about dash and its interactions in the " Mechanics of Fate Reforged ." Suffice it to say…she's fast! She's part of a five-card legendary Dragon rare cycle in the ally colors (WU, UB, BR, RG, GW). Each of them has an attack trigger ability that happens whenever a Dragon you control attacks. They trigger themselves, but they also trigger multiple times with multiple attacking Dragons. They truly are the dominant dragons of their respective broods. Their design borrows from my Utvara Hellkite design in Return to Ravnica (and I'm putting them both together in my Commander deck).
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the cycle. I sort of had in my head that the GW dragon would have an ability like this, but I thought it would be just a regular pump affect, not bolster. Makes this dragon stronger than I thought it might be.
So each Dragon will have their klan mechanics and have dragon interaction.
W/U will have prowess and when a Dragon attacks each creature gets prowess?
U/B will get Delve but i have no idea the "Whenever a Dragon Attacks" will do.Please don't make it "Whenever a Dragon attacks mill"
R/G i have no idea.I guess whenever a Dragon attacks creatures with power 4 or more will get some type of buff?
This is a big fat dumb creature. Not saying it's bad, I'm saying most big fat dumb non-hasty flying creatures are bad. This is why something like Indulgent Tormentor isn't playable.
He is even drawn to look fat. Fat and slow ready to eat some sorcery speed removal.

Indulgent Tormentor dies to all kinds of removal that is far cheaper than he is, like Bile Blight, Lightning Strike, and Anger of the Gods, and his triggered ability offers too many options to your opponent. If the Tormentor was a 5/5 with only two of those three options (i.e. "draw a card unless your opponent sacrifices a creature"), he'd be highly playable.
This card is big enough to dodge a lot of Standard removal, including Stoke the Flames, and if there are other playable dragons, he can do something right away. That means he's potentially pretty decent.

I really hope the U/B dragon doesn't have Delve or mill. If it has Delve it is going to be ridiculously overcosted. If it has mill then it is just boring design.

Google translate tells me it's:
"The curse of countless shattered weapons , each a failed attempt to slay them - Daghatar the Grim"
Which seems like it's probably pretty close, but a native speaker can probably get closer.
