So shaman revelation is a strictly better Collective Unconscious? seems sweet for edh, I dig it.
Yes, or it could replace the slot of Regal Force. Granted, its harder to tutor for, and there's no body attached, but 5 mana is a lot cheaper than Force (and might also come with some lifegain upside).
Wouldn't Flamerush be pretty awesome with rabblemaster? Copy a rabblemaster, sure. The Revelation seems pretty good, not quite Sphinx's but still good.
Flamerush Rider seems really good with an attacking Sarkhan or Stormbreath. He also dodges sorcery-speed removal so you can do it again next turn. Or in GR Monsters, copy an attacking Polukranos and monstrous with the leftover mana.
That's not going to work the way you think it will. Legendary rule and Planeswalker uniqueness rule.
Wouldn't Flamerush be pretty awesome with rabblemaster?
Not really. None of the token Goblin Rabblemaster's abilities would trigger. The token comes in after you've declared attackers, which is well after his "beginning of combat" ability would trigger, and he's never actually declared as an attacker, so his "Whenever [this creature] attacks" ability doesn't trigger either.
Though I suppose the original Rabblemaster would get an additional +1/+0 for the turn if you stacked the triggers right, but that's it, really.
I think there is a problem with the wording of Shaman Revelation as we have it
Shaman Revelation
Sorcery 3GG
Draw a card for each creature you control.
Ferocious - Gain 4 life for each creature you control with power 4 or greater.
From Tabak's Tumblr
electricresistance asked:
Regarding Ferocious, would it be possible to word it like "When [permanent] enters the battlefield, [effect] for each creature you control with power 4 or greater," or does that branch away from what Ferocious is meant to do?
That’s not what ferocious is. See most of the cards in KTK for examples. It’s usually a binary switch.

They make mistakes on CT and CS version almost every set.
I checked the wording on Feed the Clan, I still stand by my translation.

The revelation card is incredibly annoying. Right now, the meta is dominated by green decks. This rewards you building a deck with a bunch of mana dorks and then when your hand is empty, refill it and be rewarded, even in the case of a board wipe follow up. That card will see play in standard.
Potential problem with Shaman Revelation is that the card draw is better in elfball-type decks while the ferocious bonus is better in midrange or ramp and it doesn't affect the board at all. It draws and gains life with, say, Sylvan Caryatid and a Polukranos, World Eater on board, but those kinds of decks will rather want to affect the board with more monsters or a Nissa than gain life or draw cards. As is, it has two kinda unrelated effects that are good for Control, but require a midrange board. I don't think it will make waves. Of course, I might just be wrong, and I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Actually, it works as Sarkhan after his +1 activation is no longer a planeswalker, although his token copy will be - you can have one legendary Sarkhan Dragon Creature and Sarkhan the Planeswalker. Token therefore cannot attack, but after combat you can use his -3 ability, and it vanish EOT while original stays on battlefield.
It still doesn't work, both are legendary. Also, Flamerush exiles the token at the end of combat, not of the turn.

From Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker's rulings:
9/20/2014: After the first ability resolves, Sarkhan won’t be a planeswalker until the end of the turn. Later that turn, if you cast another Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker, neither permanent will be put into its owner’s graveyard. The “legend rule” sees only the original Sarkhan and the “planeswalker uniqueness rule” sees only the new Sarkhan. However, if you activate the first ability of the new Sarkhan, you would then control two legendary permanents with the same name. You’d choose one to remain on the battlefield and the other would be put into its owner’s graveyard. If you don’t activate the first ability of the new Sarkhan, the original Sarkhan will return to being a planeswalker during the cleanup step. You would then control two planeswalkers with the same planeswalker type. You’d choose one to remain on the battlefield and the other would be put into its owner’s graveyard. There would then be another cleanup step before the turn ended.
9/20/2014: If a permanent enters the battlefield as a copy of Sarkhan after his first ability has resolved, the copy will be a Sarkhan planeswalker. It will enter the battlefield with four loyalty counters, no matter how many loyalty counters are on the original Sarkhan. You’ll then find yourself in the same situation described above.
So if you use Flamerush to copy an attacking Sarkhan, you get a Sarkhan planeswalker token. Now because the token is exiled at end of combat this isn't very useful as you'd have no opportunity to activate a loyalty ability of the token, but it does work without destroying the original Sarkhan.

The token will be a copy of Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker as a Planeswalker not as a legendary creature. In that case, you'd have a Sarkhan planeswalker and a legendary Sarkhan creature in play during combat. They would peacefully co-exist until the token was exiled at the end of combat.
Seriously! I just started putting together Titania and Marchesa. Revelation seems amazing for Titania and Rider looks like a killer choice for Marchesa. I've always liked Collective Unconscious but felt it was just too overpriced to run in a deck. Seeing a version that only costs 5 and has the potential for mass life gain makes me so happy.
Please, the revelation is no sphinx's revelation! If you have no board presence it does nothing. If you got a bunch of dorks, you get cards but no life. If you have 4/4, you probably don't have that many, so just a few cards and a bunch of life. It's an awful top-deck if you're losing in most cases.
Shaman's revelation sure looks like a win-more card.
PS: I guess it's only good if you accelerate out of mana-dork just to refill your hand. Even then, it's a merely okay turn play. You can do better for 5 mana.

Shaman's Revelation is going to supercharge Abzan.
Like they need it
I don't want to get too ahead of myself, but this card being the Buy-a-Box promo has me worried that it'll be good. I think there's another thread here that goes over previous BBP's and notes that these promos are oftentimes playable in some capacity, if not downright amazing in their respective formats. I don't play Abzan, so I'm not sure if this is something they need (because really, do you guys need more life gain?). If it ends up being good though, I imagine the ceiling will be pretty high.
I read the "Ferocious" comment as meaning that you don't get a copy of the effect for each power 4 creature, not that no card with ferocious could have an effect based off the number of power 4 creatures.
Are you certain that Shaman Revelation gains you life for EACH creature you control with power 4 or greater? Other Ferocious cards have had a simple yes/no check.
It'll see play in EDH for just being a Collective Unconscious for 1 left, doesn't matter if I gain 4 life or 40.
I would've picked the Temur Buttload O' Cards to be a variant of Soul's Majesty, personally.
Oh, and Temur shamans. That makes me <3. Just because 'shaman' is an Evenki word, it's kinda weird to have a bunch of Siberian natives and not have shamans matter.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

I'm not saying you translated it wrong. It's possible they missed the if in translating it in the first place.
All I was saying is if I'm reading Tabak's answer correctly the wording on any Ferocious card needs an if.
It'll probably also draw you 3+ cards in a lot of situations.
