Whisperwood Elemental seems like a judge's worst nightmare. Keep track of those morphs, boys, and be awfully careful to keep track of which morphs came from the hand versus the top of the deck! We're in rules lawyer city now!
This is immediately what I thought. Someone's going to hit a creature without morph, after playing some creatures with morph and someone is going to get confused and call the judge and the judge is going to shrug because he didn't see how things went down. And at the end of the day, someone is going to be upset. Either they are going to feel cheated or they could potentially get the boot for "cheating".
Any creature that gets manifested essentially gains morph, right?
Then again, how does it work if you manifest a creatures that already has morph. Does it now basically have two ways to unmorph it?

Kekule_the_Magician on the inclusion of Devouring Light in a TurboFog Deck:
Quote from Kekule_the_Magician »
As a person who typically plays very creature oriented decks, I HATE when an opponent has Devouring Light. It is infuriating to finally get through with a creature on to have it exiled.
I've come to hate White in general now because it gets everything to the point where it is almost unfair. White has boardwipes (Wrath of God, End Hostilities), targeted exile and removal (Devouring Light, Banishing Light, Last Breath), lifegain spells, lifelink, low cost/high power enchantments and auras, flying creatures; my goodness what don't they get!?
Cards that pitch themselves and are useful on their own work well with Delve Demon. Easy to get flying that way, hard to get double strike, impossible to get hexproof. The most hilarious option is Deepcavern Imp, which gives him flying, haste, and a one point reduction in casting cost, all while having swung in for 2 the turn before.
Now, mind you, you do not HAVE to jump through any hoops for this fellow. If you're playing Suicide Black or Pox or something, he does what all the other good Delve cards do; rewards you for playing the game. The icing on the cake is that it's very possible to get to a position where he finishes the game very quickly on his own. He can be nighthawks 5 - 8 at worst.
just a rules question: how does dash work if the creature is my commander?? do i still have to pay commandertaxes even if i cast my general for it's dash ability's cost??
You will need to pay the tax when you cast it for dash, but keep in mind that afterwards it is bounced to your hand, and you don't need to pay the tax when casting from your hand.
Did anyone noticed the finesse of doing the artwork of the demon representing him with 4 arms? Exactly like the "maximum" 4 abilities he can get... Wonderful

The Father of Machines will free these creatures from the shackles of their imperfect flesh. All glory to Phyrexia!
Anyone notice the weird watermark on Kolaghan? It looks like the Mardu watermark plus an extra set of wings. I think the dragon broods might just each get their own watermark.

Well, just imagine what the board looks like in draft after he's been in play a few turns. You've cast a morph or two from your hand, put more onto the table with this Elemental. You activate morph and flip up a non-morph creature. Your opponent disputes whether that particular morph came from your hand or the library. If it came from your hand, you've just cheated. Judge comes over, has no friggin idea what happened when and no way to resolve the issue.
The crux of the problem is that this elemental basically gives morph to cards that do not have morph in an enviornment with lots of other cards with morph. There are certainly ways to avoid this -- you're not supposed to move your morphs after you play them -- but they all require cooperation by the players or a lot of record keeping.

Yeah, but the issue is this.
If you decide to play a morph creature face down, but later it is revealed that the creature you played face down didn't have morph, you are in trouble.
In a block that is now throwing both of these abilities at us at once, it may cause headaches at some events.
So looks like Kolagan might be the Mardu dragon of the set based on that early art. I think we have seen the glimpse of the Azban dragon on that White card a while back. Really digging outpost will be fun interaction with sac mechanics in Prossh, Skyrider of Kher

Yes, it's not like they're giving us two separate overlay tokens to help us keep track of this stuff or anything.

This is what I am thinking. We get a blue token to represent a morph card that came in with manifest. Like the art for the Soul Summons!
HOLY CRAP! The Manifest ability is epic! I love how delve and prowess are back. They are good mechanics. Is this everything!?!?!? I haven't got my fix yet...
Ethereal Ambush is a common. Can't wait to see a mythic Manifest if they have one!! (other than the one we got already, lol)
Use cards like Equilibrium and Cloudstone Curio to return non-creatures that were manifested back to your hand for more use! Works with the other creature you manifest!
It wouldn't work with Equilibrium since you're not playing the spell.
So is Kolaghan a dude or a chick? The article says:
Suffice it to say…she's fast! She's part of a five-card legendary Dragon rare cycle in the ally colors
and
Outpost Siege depicts the dragon lord Kolaghan and his sonic four-winged lightning brood attacking a Mardu outpost.
I wonder if this set will have the highest as-fan for dragons only until the next set. I'm guessing there will be an enemy pair dragon legend cycle for DoT (sure would fit nicely with enemy fetches.
Neither the Khans nor the legendary dragons (holy hell, there's going to be 10 possible commanders in this set) are mythics? Huh. Means there's still 8 completely unknown mythics in this set (just Ugin and Whisperwood so far), in addition to the khans and the dragons (which both look fairly good, if Yasova and Kolaghan are any indication). Cool.
Manifest looks fun with scry - can do a pretty good job of manipulating what you're landing on the battlefield. A lone Sunbonded Ajani's Pridemate gets 7 +1/+1 counters off of Honor's Reward. Dash and Raid obviously should play really nicely together, and I'm excited to see what new toys Delve and Prowess, the two most constructed-viable mechanics from KTK, get to play with in Fate Reforged (Soulflayer is already pretty nice). Odds seem pretty good that Dragons of Tarkir will be keeping the new clan mechanics (Bolster and Dash), and providing new mechanics for the Jeskai, Sultai, and Temur, or whatever remains of their clans/broods in the new timeline.
Fun stuff, looking forward to more.

Yeah I'm thinking you're going to want to bring a lot of Morph and Manifest overlays even if the deck you're playing doesn't use them. But I can see Judges looking at this and holding their heads. I'm thinking I'll try and find some sort of counter that i can use to mark the difference between morphed and manifested cards.

I can't see it being good. The enablers aren't there unless you feel like playing 4 colors with Mantis Rider.

All the Trail of Mystery procs. A cheaper Kheru Spellsnatcher unmorphing (only when Manifest'd) and Lens of Clarity will be killer!

Perhaps dragons are hermaphroditic.
More likely Kolaghan is female, its easier to make a typo turning a character made than female.
