You draw a card and lose X life OR Opp discards a card and gains X life
Target creature you control gets +X/+0 OR Creature opp controls gets -0/-X
Return enchantment from your graveyard to your hand OR Destroy target enchantment
Interesting how the dragon's general appearance greatly resembles Abzan armor. I would imagine that each clan has dragons that are closely aligned with its primary color (and may splash into their two respective secondary colors), and these dragons' outer appearance would resemble its respective clans' motifs. Very interested to see what the rest of the dragons look like.
And it looks like the theme for the set is: choose between opposite things and create the new future upon those decisions:
- only dragons or all but dragons
- destroy a creature or save a creature
So if there is a cycle, they should all have opposing modes, like the suggestion for the black one (draw or discard) - a Smelt or Shock red one wouldn't fit that manner.
I think you've got it right, the modes we see will likely be similar in theme not just random "modes". Something for red might look like:
Red Stance
Untap Target creature, it gains +2/+0 and First Strike until EOT
Target creature can't block this turn
Blocks well/stops blocking. Either way it'll be fun to see this set come together. I have a feeling this will add a lot of versatility to upcoming standard decks.
So is the dragon indestructible and the guy is a soon-to-be-destroyed x/4 or is the guy an enchanted battlemage and the dragon saying goodbye? I am confused :S
But a nice "66% of a charm" overall.

It's showing a change in history. I'm guessing, originally, the spell was used to simply slay the dragon, but now it's being used to allow the individual to survive, thus also allowing the dragon to survive.
I love how these modal choices spells seem to be showcasing the struggle between dragon and humanoids. For example, Crux of Fate shows that if Ugin lives, dragons will dominate Tarkir, while if Nicol Bolas wins, the humanoids will become the victors. In this card (which I plan to add a couple to my Abzan Midrange deck as soon as it comes out), it again shows that struggle. In one choice, the dragon's scales come into effect and the battlemage can't pierce the dragon, so he dies. In the other case, the battlemage is able to conjure the right spells and slays the dragon.
I wonder if Nicol Bolas actually indirectly (and accidentally) takes the good side in this story. He's the one who allowed multiple races to flourish instead of just dragons. Sure, that situation has led to endless war, but in the dragon-dominated future....now they all war as one for survival, and if they fail they all die and dragons alone become the species of Tarkir....I'm going to root for Nicol Bolas still COME ON NICKIE, KILL THAT UGIN IN DTK!
Honestly, it seems like the end result will always be the decimation of the clans on Tarkir. If the dragons all die, the clans turn against one another and slaughter each other. If the dragons survive, then the dragons continue predating on the clans. No matter what happens, the five clans lose.

The way I see it, each option depicts a different outcome.
Become indestructible = Abzan dragon too tough to be vanquished
Destroy target creature = Small warrior triumphing over mighty dragon
For Crux of Fate it would be:
Destroy all dragons = Nicol Bolas wins
Destroy all non-dragons = Ugin wins

Based on the lore that Wizards has written, the clans will surely die as they continue to fight each other over dwindling resources. When the dragons were alive, the clans had to fight the dragons to survive, but it appears the dragons also brought with them or provided resources to allow the clans to continue their existence.
Given the choice between eventual extinction of the humanoids on the plane and non-prosperous existence, it's probably better to survive.
I notice that the dragon depicted in that artwork seems to have a body that is composed of stone or otherwise has a stone-like texture; is that an indication that the dragons of Tarkir shall have a great variety of forms and abilities (or, more accurately, greater than what has already been shown in this game)? I would very much like that.

Based on the preview art for DTK, it looks like the Tarkirites are fated to fight each other, dragons or not. It seems as though an alliance will be struck between dragons and their followers. Perhaps Sarkhan ends up doing his job a little too well and everyone on the plane ends up worshipping the dragons to the point the winged overlords start seeing each other as competition. Instead of a fight for survival, it becomes a war for dominion.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

From what little artwork we've seen, each clan's dragons will exemplify the features that clan uses as their symbol. The Mardu dragon we've seen has giant, feathery wings, while the Abzan dragon appears to have scales that are as strong as stone. Presumably the eyes, claws, and fangs will be exaggerated on the Jeskai, Temur, and Sultai dragons respectively.

That is good, as long as the eyes of any dragons associated with the Jeskai clan are not overly-large, like googly eyes; perhaps they shall instead glow like miniature suns?

The image of a Sultai dragon can be seen on Dig Through Time. The fangs on it's lower jaw are, indeed, larger than a normal dragon's, and much like a snake's fangs.

As a UW Heroic player I would just like to chime in and say I won't be playing this.
Indestructible isn't very relevant and the Heroic trigger is too small to be considered much. God's Willing, Feat of Resistance, Stubborn Denial, and Negate do everything I want them to do against removal already, and have wider applications.
Few Heroic players run Ajani's Presence beyond 1 or 2 copies in side.
As for removal, using Pilgrim to tutor for Singing Bell Strike is better and even that has fallen out of favor. Disdainful Stroke is a better answer if we want to side against bomb creatures.
The primary way I deal with big creatures is I go over them. The secondary way is to gain 10 life off Ordeal and win the race. Removal isn't what I ever want to be doing.

Since fangs (especially snake fangs) are very often associated with poison, is it possible that any dragons that are associated with the Sultai clan shall have deathtouch?

Solid trick for Limited with some potential constructed applications makes for a good Uncommon. Also nice to see a random spoiler sneak out of the wood work.

I completely agree with your take on what they're going to do with some of these cards: they will be multi-function and the cards will have somewhat opposite modes that will be able to (somewhat) cancel each other out on opposite sides of the battlefield. This idea of choices/opposites is not only baked in to the story (Sarkhan altering the future during a pivotal fight between Ugin and Bolas) but it's also baked in to the set's expansion symbol, which are explicitly described as mirror images of fangs. Very cool design all around.
The blue one would maybe be something like the following, considering all of the Jeskai mechanics involving tapping and untapping of creatures (Jeskai Ascendancy, Quiet Contemplation, etc)
Choose one:
-Tap all creatures your opponents control
-Untap all creatures you control
Not sure how much it would cost, but in the current standard, 1U may be too cheap. Maybe UU or 2U?
