My assumption was right about Noble Hierarch being in the set. I am now 100% that it is one of the cards on the pack face due to the original pack spoiler. So we have Karn and Hierarch on the packs and I'll assume we get 2 more. Right now I am going to guess they will be original arts. If I had to guess I am going to say Emrakul and Opal.
That's how I understood it, since if you were going to refer to this Monday, you could have just said "on Monday".
That's so strange... So even if we're on a Tuesday, "this Monday" refers to the one in six days? I'm curious because in French it would mean "the Monday of this week" even if that Monday has passed.

For me personally, I would either say "this coming Monday" to refer to the next Monday, or "this past Monday" to refer to the Monday that has already passed. This is so to avoid the confusion someone might have when I say "this Monday." I know, English is such a confusing language that even us Americans have trouble understanding it lol.

I guess I'll just stop using "this ___" or "next ___" and just give the actual date!
So yeah, May 4th at 11:00am EDT are when the spoilers start.
IMO When it comes to rarity shifts to mythic as long as the card was printed in an era that had mythics wizards seems loath to upshift then. So thats how I understand why goyf and bob got those shifts upwards. So I'm betting on a nice rare reprint of hierarch.

I'm hoping for this logic, too. But I'm betting by the time Modern Masters 2017 rolls around, we'll be seeing Snapcaster at mythic. It's already almost as much as Bob was last time around.
I am hoping they do what they did with masters edition IV and put urza lands in the basic land slot. that way they don't need to devote much of the set to ramp to make the eldrazi playable in draft.
I don't know why everyone is so hot on the eldrazi ramp theory. If they don't print the uncommon and common eldrazi along with the ramp eldrazi nobody is going to be seeing much of them in draft.
Modern Masters had no mythic that was unplayable in draft (the worst was Progenitus, but 5-colour domain was still a supported theme.) I can't imagine them printing 4 mythics (including Iona) that are unplayable in draft due to their casting cost.
any ideas on the white mythics?? I think at least 2 white mythics are slotted but can think of 3 that desperately need to be reprinted: Iona, Shield of Emeria, Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite or Linvala, Keeper of Silence. Which one doesn't make it?? I personally really would like Linvala to make it cause she is, imo, the most playable of the 3 in modern.
Edit: just remembered FTV: Angels. I think whichever of Iona or Linvala doesn't make the cut for MM15 gets into the FTV.

I'm hoping he might show up as early as Origins. Not likely, but perhaps not impossible. It is the last core set after all, and his price (if it matters to them) is totally out of control.
Nice, now the big question is wether it will be rare or mythic.
If they put her at Mythic we have every right to riot. They've stated multiple times that MR should be reserved for unique and extremely powerful (as far as Limited is concerned, see Beguiler of Wills) or flavourful cards, while typical cards with a universal function (normal discard or damage cards, dual lands etc.) are out of this range.
What about Lotus cobra?
Anyway, they SAY mythics are special, but in case of reprint sets like MM they clearly use it to control prices. They bumped bob and goyf solely on the monetary value of the card so it would stay high. Hierarch wasnt reprinted when the returned core set mechanic was exalted so it wouldn't surprise me if they bumped it to mythic.
With this logic the set should have at least 30 Mythics, shouldn't it? They make MM exactly to help the market and bring other people into the format: Tarmogoyf and Dark Confidant are very special cards, both because they're from the beginnings of the format and because they're very sought of from the fans, although not always as played as other Modern staples. If you see the other Mythics in MM, they all make sense: Vendilion Clique and Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker are Legendary Creatures and both very flavourful and powerful ones, the twoSwords were both obvious choices, Vedalken Shackles is both incredibly powerful and oppressive in Limited...
Lotus Cobra can give you 2 mana in a single turn with Fetchlands and still be able to attack or block (no TAP for him!): I can clearly see why he was Mythic in ZEN, a set with cards like Harrow and Khalni Heart Expedition at common.
I think there's some sentiment from Wizards that Lotus Cobra at Mythic was probably a mistake. They were experimenting at the time with making mythics that weren't all in the "planeswalker" or "huge ridiculous thing" category, but they kind of overshot in terms of making something too utility mythic. Lotus Cobra was definitely not Mythic for limited reasons at all, though. It was playable, because Zendikar was the ultimate 2-power 2-mana guy format, and you wanted as many of those as you could get, but it wasn't outstanding. It could easily have been uncommon without changing limited at all.

He's trying to mimic the original name of the poster who leaked and is likely unaware of which sets are eligible for reprint.

Hey all... I'm retired, not dead. Check out what I'm doing these days (and beg me to come back if you want):
Hm... I wonder what percentage of the cards in the set will have new art? What percentage of cards had new art for the original Modern Masters? (perhaps separated by rarity?)
they won't make heirarch mythic. As it is we are almost out of mythics. there are only 15, and we have 6 colorless ones already! as well as 2 white, 2 blue, a black and a green. there are only 3 mythic spots left in the set, and they will not use it on a mana dork. I am curious what they decide to make the red mythic though.
Snapcaster is certainly never entering standard again unless design philosophy changes a ton and probably not even then. Snapcaster is way too good for standard or it's pretty poor if every single instant and sorcery surrounding it are bad but that will never be the case because countermagic will always exist in every standard as will card draw and other things like wrath's. I've already penciled in snapcaster at mythic the next modern masters set due to his price and status as an invitational card, part of the 2 drop cycle/in the same boat as goyf and bob. Probably new art although maybe not.
Too lazy to look it up but there's probably some number somewhere on how many cards have new art in this set.

I don't think they want him in Standard again, at least based off of Zac Hill's infamous Cavern of Souls preview article from 2012.
