You also can't change the fact that cards like fetches were pulled back for recalibration when KtK released. They do this all the time with new products/reprints. If it's so difficult to understand then I rest my case.
Standard-legal reprints can be expected to increase in price due to Standard players wanting to acquire them. I mentioned this before. There is no corresponding reason to expect Modern Masters reprints to increase in price due to being reprinted.
No one is denying there could be other factors contributing to so-and-so. Stop treating there is ONLY one reason, just coz I stated just one.
So when you state only a single reason, that's just fine. But when I respond to you and speak only to the points that you raise, suddenly I'm the one denying the existence of other factors?
As for "accidentally buying too high a price", no one said that ever. You're putting words into my sentences already.
You need to understand the difference between putting words in your mouth and following through your arguments to their logical conclusion. If you accept that the price is going to fall, then that is the logical conclusion of what you've said about SCG's actions here. The appropriate response is to explain how that does not logically follow from what you've said, or how it makes sense for price to rise rather than fall, or even embrace this seemingly nonsensical conclusion and argue that contrary to appearances it actually does make sense. Not this indignant and patronising admonition for daring to draw an inference from the premises you clearly laid down. That's a pure smokescreen.
This is not the first time you've been extremely rigid and technical. I'm saying this for your own good. Perhaps you should take a break from the keyboard and get a coffee or something.
Well then let me tell you something for your own good. You need to be more rigid and technical. You seem convinced that you can just type random words and the onus is on the rest of us to read your mind to divine what you actually mean by them. If someone lacks the psychic power to glean from your post the precise implications you had in mind when you wrote it, that's not a personal insult. It just means you weren't as clear as you evidently believed you were and you should make an effort to explain further.
I reckon some people get paid by SCG to post here Back to topic though, I can already see prices going higher on some staples as the demand will outstrip the supply even with MM 2015 coming out. Good for all the stores holding the cards as they have the option to hold on to the cards before selling it for the price they want. If the leak is right I just wonder what other cards are being reprinted and how much this would affect the prices of MM 2015 booster boxes.
Not sure who you're implying but I'm no fan of SCG. Australian magic is so darn expensive already.
@ Bogardan Mage: If you haven't bought groceries before at the supermarket, and haven't seen how certain things can affect the supply and hence prices of products, then you should do more shopping. Magic as a business is no different; pulling back products and recalibrating prices are what they (SCG and the like) do. It's pure observation from past experiences. Anyone can do that without a rocket science degree like you have.
You think that every premise requires a thesis and a statistical paper. Well, welcome to the forums, a world of opinions. Funny that you tend to have your opinion on others but never an opinion of your own, and it's not the first time I've said that.
I'll just leave it as that and ignore you. You can do the same as I don't want to discuss any of these with lengthy statistical papers.

If I spoke to you the way you are now speaking to me, you would bite my head off for putting words in your mouth. I never said that this didn't happen. I'm pretty sure I said that it did. What I said, though, was that it didn't tell us anything at all about whether or not these cards are going to be reprinted. Apparently it is very important to you that you didn't use the precise words "SCG expects prices to increase". I'm happy to respect your claim that you intended no such implication. But that just means this event is totally irrelevant to the topic of this thread.
You think that every premise requires a thesis and a statistical paper. Well, welcome to the forums, a world of opinions. Funny that you tend to have your opinion on others but never an opinion of your own, and it's not the first time I've said that.
No, it's not the first time you've said it, and it wasn't warranted then either. Goodness gracious, you try the never said anything that wasn't technically true defence and then you have the nerve to accuse me of a lack of content because I haven't been stating my opinion in each and every post? Well by your own logic, you have no opinion. The extent of your opinion is "SCG is recalibrating prices for no reason and with no expectation of price movements". You are explicitly refraining from making any comment on their motives or the direction prices are you not? Therefore, if I have no opinion on this topic then you have demonstrated thus that you do not either.
I'll just leave it as that and ignore you. You can do the same as I don't want to discuss any of these with lengthy statistical papers.
It is such a shame that you think that literally any elaboration on your opinion (or, as we discovered above, lack thereof) amounts to a "lengthy statistical paper". I can't understand why your first instinct when responding to me is not to make any attempt at explaining your position but to attack me for asking about it. If I were less charitable, I would put it down to you knowing that my interpretation was absolutely correct and that your position is indefensible. I say this not to put words in your mouth but to try to show that this is how you are likely to be interpreted. Like you, I hope to make this clear to you for your own good. Like you, I am likely coming off as insulting and patronising while doing so. I hope you can look past this (or at least accept it as quid pro quo for your unsolicited attempt to convince me that I do not, in fact, enjoy spirited argument) and try, when next you encounter a "lengthy statistical paper", to respond by rephrasing your opinion so as to better explain it rather than attacking anyone who dares to seek further clarification.
If true, then the reprints are pretty much just everything from Modern Masters 1, plus whatever cards people complained about that weren't in the first one (mox opal, noble heirarch, fulminator mage). I guess WotC would have to justify the msrp increase somehow...
Not much else better to do in this thread, plus it gave a nice lull in the constant repeating of topics that were made many times before, and as others have said this person was a decent source of information before and there isn't a reason to not believe. Just take it with a grain of salt like I am sure many others are doing.
If this leak is correct, I would guess red will be the color with only one mythic and also that Linvala will be one of the banner cards in this year's FTV product. With the Praetors obviously not making it in as a cycle, I'm betting on Phyrexian Obliterator being the second black mythic and I'm holding out hope Azusa will be the other green one.
I believe we're lacking another planeswalker. MM1 has 2, but it's not a must for them to have 2-3 walkers but it's definitely not out of the woods yet.
Hmmmm, I wonder how much rage we'll see/hear when they open their first pack and it's Incendiary Command.

I wouldn't mind more colorless mythics, but I would bet on Obliterator at least. I wouldn't be surprised by Batterskull or a Sword. I could see Azusa being mythic, but she doesn't feel mythic.
FTV: Angels will probably be headlined by either Akroma, Avacyn, Linvala, or Iona. Maybe Baneslayer Angel.

Probably similar to opening up 4 Ugin's Nexus in one box of Khans.
Man, I so hope this leak turns out to be true. I checked all the new spoilers up today, and was saddened that they're not actually confirmed. This set is looking unbelievable to me with these unconfirmed leaks!

One of the bigger LGS near me has been steadily upping their buylist price on Spellskite. I would've thought a Spellskite reprint was all but guaranteed, but the rising buy price concerns me.

This could also be their attempt of getting as much money as possible before it drops. Frankly they should be selling it for the average of what most others are selling it for, but I suppose I don't have a business.

Except that's what they're paying people for it! They give 25% on top of that for trade-in credit (however, this is offset by significantly higher prices on singles, even counting the weak CDN-USD exchange rate). My heart is telling me to take the money and run, but my brain tells me something's amiss.
Not sure how often I'll be updating this, but I think once every five days or so until release should be good. That means, with 25 days left before it hits the stores, roughly 5 more updates, depending on my time and whatnot.
These prices have been pulled from eBay's sold lots and compiled into a handy list averaging the costs including shipping of every box sold any given day. Graphed for you guys too.
Interesting to note that prices have steadily risen since I posted the first update. Some of the new demand and higher pricing is likely a result of the fresh leak of most of the Mythics in the set which appear to be quite attractive from an EV perspective. Also, it appears supply may be thinning out a little bit, with less boxes available below $230. Since Friday, only three boxes have sold for under $230 shipped, pointing to reduced supply or increased demand, possibly both. It appears the glut of "cheap" boxes is over, at least for now. The unusually low number of boxes that sold on Saturday is likely the result of the average cost soaring to $10 over MSRP at $250.44 per box, and the increased volume Sunday is likely due to a drop in prices to much closer to MSRP.
The cheapest boxes available on eBay right now are at MSRP and moving well enough.
Of note about the chart itself and how the data is collected.
The sold lots are moved to the sold results the day the last box of the lot sells, and I did not want to do the extra legwork going through 230+ results to break them down by what boxes sold on what day, so if a seller was selling 36 boxes, and they sold over three days, all would count for the day the last box sold because that's a lot simpler from a data collection standpoint. Also, no lots sold on 4/9, but the chart didn't look right with the drop to zero, so I added one box at $260 to normalize the chart.
Also notable, the only day to break below $225 (4/15) was pulled down by a single seller that sold 24 boxes at $195 each. If we cut out those 24 boxes, the other 20 boxes sold that day moved for an average cost of $244.99.
Or they are going to reprint ways to cheat them into play.
Isn't cloud post banned in modern? I don't think they'll reprint anything currently banned. So your $50 dark depths are safe lol. I think it's more likely the tron lands (urza tower/power plant/mine) as has been mentioned a ton will be reprinted.
Tron and the big drops or are not for limited. You can't play them. I play tron and you need so much synergy to make it worthwhile. And no one can draft that.
The print run should be good enough to support for atleast a month or two as i was told by the manager of the gaming in my lgs that in total we will have 15 cases at the start
I moved my pre order up to 4 boxes of product (between LGS and ebay orders). If we can confirm all of the spoils we got in the last few days I have a feeling that MSRP for the product will get harder to come across. I can only hope that our supposed rumors are correct as otherwise I over committed to this product lol.
We are still walking sort of a tight rope of trying to see where the expected value of this product will land and the price of the product. Obviously its hard to really improve from what we have rumors of being in the product so there is still going to be a lot of room for lesser rares and such to be included in this product. I guess I am sort of in the category of giddy to see what all we end up getting in this set as I have already moved my chips into place and now I just have to see how it goes.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
They had the tron lands in Masters Edition IV and I think it worked out well. I remember really liking that format. Also its a 40 card deck rather than a 60 card deck so you are going to see more of your cards.
I think its going to be tron lands, Through The Breach, Goryo's Vengeance. Things along those lines. The entire format will not be about ramp or cheating things out but I think they will allow for each color to have a chance to do it.
