As much as I love a good Kraken, I almost with this was like Greater Drelnoch or something.
Magic needs more yeti Mutants imo lol

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
The art looks rather Theros-y, this is going right into my Thassa deck with her Bident!
I came here to say it looks like it is from Theros and that this is going into my Thassa Ula's Temple deck lol
It's probably art they decided to not use for Shipbreaker Kraken and if it is they should have used this instead. Much better art
Shipbreaker Kraken actually had another art painted by Adam Paquette (sp?) that was used in the Theros Pax Panel and I always felt it was better than the one they used.

You know things are creeping a bit when blue not only gets undercosted fatties, but it gets them without drawbacks AND with a significant additional bonus. Or two.
Apparently blue gets X/X creatures for X nowadays. Sweet!

No, I had a copy with that art, I was thinking that it was art that they were thinking of using. While I do like the origial art, I feel like this art gives a greater sense of doom, and it's not as dark.

Truth , you can now build a blue Timmy deck, and it can compete with Green timmy. Actually many of us already have, and it's much better than green/ramp where you used to just ramp to a fatty and just let it die (nobody plays that anymore)
Green is the big creatures color, right? : P
but to be fair green got a lot of good creatures lately aswell
Yeah I prefer the Adam Paquette art for Shipbreaker Kraken. I wish they had used it. The art they used is too dark, it looks like an art from Innistrad instead of Theros. I prefer the lighter art that actually has the kraken attacking the soldiers from the straits if you look closely.
Without your commander, he's only marginally better than Benthic Giant. Blue is allowed to get good creatures, they just have to require more building around than good green creatures. Not to mention this is Commander, home to Chaos Warp, Hornet Queen, and True-Name Nemesis. Compared to those this is downright tame.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
