The biggest problem I have with Italian Slobad I think is his art. On my way! thing feels super off about it, but I can't figure out what it is.
I think, and don't hold me to this, it's because of the way the window is compressed on the figure who has a fairly horizontal layout given the fact we can't see the mechanism below it.
It's not Jaya... who cares, no one will be happy. 1/10 simply because it's not Jaya.
This.
I don't even care about this trash. I was so excited for the red planeswalker and I'm so unbelievably disappointed that it wasn't Jeska/Jaya. I will NEVER run this card out of principle. I don't even want to buy the deck anymore, but unfortunately, there's too much value in it to ignore. I might put it in my toaster out of respect.
I am truly at a loss for words.
The only thing that I can hope for is Serra, but I have a strong feeling I will once again be let down.

These planeswalkers were designed bottom-up in order to make sure that they weren't degenerate or broken as commanders. We're lucky we got as many nostalgic throwbacks as we did.
What's this have to do with the Planeswalker not being Jaya?
I agree. We should all only play g/x decks because they are the most objectively fun and anyone who disagrees does not know the truth about EDH. Everyone should just play their decks because interaction beyond high fiving about how many land are in play is unfun and equivalent to casting Stasis while kicking puppies. I for one will never play with anyone who casts tutors, removal spells, blue cards, things I arbitrarily decide I don't like but will probably cast myself later.

That's fine and great and all that jazz.
It does not satiate my hatred of this planeswalker. If he becomes popular in my meta, I will make sure to build a deck that specializes in hating him off the table. I have several ideas ready for him.
My hate is the burning rage that should have been a different planeswalker.
Wow, I can't say I saw this one coming, but it looks like I am going to build a mono-red EDH. I love his ult, but at -10, we are going to have to have a little help from some proliferate to get there. Well, I am going to prebuild the deck now.
I'm not okay with a new goblin planeswalker that has all of this in common with Slobad:
* Deals mostly in scrap
* Puts scrap back together
* Artificer
* Male
* Crippled physically prior to becoming a walker and relies on machines to move around
I get the impression someone designed a Slobad card and then last minute someone else said it can't be Slobad because he'd been a planeswalker too briefly or because he is now dead or something, or just arbitrarily decided they din't want that many older walker characters and Slobad was one to get the boot, and rather than re-doing the card creatively, they just made him a different goblin planeswalker from another plane. Any way you put it, it just doesn't feel right. It's either supremely uncreative and lazy to rehash a character to this degree, especially when this is one of the rare opportunities for them to have actually made a new Slobad card, since there doesn't have to be specific lore to these decks. This _screams_ of wonky last-minute marketing decisions or something stupid like that.

Causes weird proportions.
Bingo. I hope we see the art for him soon and get a full look.

Success!
And they said that degree in graphic design would go to waste...
What's this have to do with the Planeswalker not being Jaya?
The abilities were created before they decided upon who's face they'd put on the card, and before they'd even decided to use this opportunity to make some of them old characters. Unless you're okay with having Jaya's card be a horrible flavor fail, you'll just have to resign yourself to the fact that this guy was never going to be Jaya.

Wow. You really need to take a deep breath, calm down, and remind yourself that this is just a card game you're getting so worked up over.
I'd also like to point out to both of you that if player response is positive to the nostalgic throwback planeswalkers and legends, then that vastly increases the chances that WotC will make this a regular thing. Which, in turn, means that Jaya will eventually get her turn. This isn't the end of her chances to get a planeswalker card, and this most certainly isn't the end of the world.

More likely theory: Wizards knew there was demand for an artifact-associated Red Planeswalker and demand for a goblin Planeswalker and combined the two. It helps that there's been a long history of artifacts and Goblins in Magic; Daretti's -2 ability even rips on Goblin Welder. Any resemblances to Slobad are the result of R&D (Understandably) forgetting that he ever actually ascended, since it was a brief part of the third book in one of the less memorable block storylines.
Personally I believe Slobad is better served as a "standard" legendary creature instead of a planeswalker, because let's face it he was a planeswalker for a shorter duration than 99.5% of all magic duels last.
Also everyone who is upset about this not being a nostalgic throwback, like Jaya: This is the most concentrated nostalgia we ever got in a product rivaled only by time spiral, and this time we got a bunch of oldwalkers. I honestly cannot understand how anyone blames wizards for not putting even more old characters into this.
If they literally copied Chandra Nalaar's card except they added "Jaya Ballard can be your commander." I would run it.
Want to know why? I think I've finally found some words to express why I'm disappointed beyond seething, frothy anger.
You have no idea how much I wanted to just use Pyromancer's Gauntlet, Chandra's Phoenix, The Chain Veil, as well a few other nifty cards like Volt Charge and just feel like I was playing a red planeswalker burning people away. I can't do ANY of that with this guy. Instead, it's just another artifact commander.

I'm amazed by how often you express exactly what I'm thinking.
I agree it's a very cool card, but somehow I don't like him one bit - I wanted a Red Planeswalker Commander and instead got an Artifact Planeswalker Commander. Don't get me wrong, I can see why people likes this, but it's just not my cup of tea. Oh well, I'll probably be getting the Black deck.
With that said, it's a cool character and a powerful card all in all. Fun to build around and has its own niche despite being Artifact Commander #137.
Also, for all you guys out there that were crying that you always wanted Goblin Welder to be Legendary... well, Goblin Welder is now a Planeswalker!

Agreed. It's not a red planeswalker. It's another uninteresting artifact/graveyard general.
I will be packing untold amounts of graveyard hate in the future.
It's funny, the previous Commander decks had precisely zero new cards for old characters, and people were fine with that. But when WotC throws Vorthoses a bone, everyone and their uncle starts *****ing about how they should have had more nostalgic cards, and how much of a travesty it is that WotC didn't make a card for their favorite character.
Every one who thinks that this and Dualcaster Mage (or whatever he's called) will be Legacy chase cards is incredibly wrong. Any Red card that cost 3 or more mana, does nothing by itself, doesn't fit on Delver and doesn't hate on others decks have like 5% of chance of seeing extensive play in a format like Legacy. Not every card is ScavOoze or TNN.
Causes weird proportions.
But Jaya is already a planeswalker!
