On his home plane of Fiora, Daretti was known as a goblin of uncommon intellect, talent, and ambition. His goal was both simple and audacious: to become a master artificer at the Academy in the High City of Paliano. As he rose through the ranks, the city’s mage elite tittered, then scoffed, then protested. In the end, it was not their plotting but Daretti’s own experiments that proved his downfall.
One of Daretti’s famed creations exploded, apparently killing him. In reality, the shock ignited Daretti’s latent Planeswalker spark, and he planeswalked to relative safety.
His legs were gone, but he was alive—and now had many worlds of knowledge and artifice to explore. He built himself an elaborate cogwork conveyance and continued his experiments in artifice, both on Fiora and beyond.
Welp, it's happening. I've FINALLY got a good use for the Mishra's Workshop I traded for a year ago. Red + Goblin + Artifact Synergies + Looting + Planeswalker? It's like they slapped everything I love in Magic on to a single card.
I am usually posting from my phone. I will usually be brief and there may be typos.

People are gonna be mad. As much as I like this card, I thought Jaya or Slobad would have been the RIGHT thing to do. This brings me back to the past grievances of "where's our Werewolf Legend", "where's our allies in ROE", "where's our XXXXXXXXX". MaRo mentioned that listening to player feedback is so so important.
You blew the chance, Wizards.
Although a goblin walker suits a supplementary set more so than a normal set I suppose.
Doesn't that wording on his second ability allow you to return what you just sacced?
If so, even more value for Wurmcoil, assuming it's in this deck.

@ empathogen: I think it's the same wording with Trash for Treasure. I believe you would require a target still. But you won't get blown out if it get's countered; that's the difference.

No, you can't return the artifact you sacrificed. You have to target an artifact card in your graveyard when you announce the ability, and that's before you sacrifice anything.
However, once you get Wurmcoil Engine to the graveyard, you can sacrifice one of its tokens to get it back. Or, even funnier would be to copy Wurmcoil Engine with Feldon, then, after attacking with it, sacrificing it with Daretti to get the original Wurmcoil Engine back.
"You don't have to make poor replacements for your lost love, Feldon! I will help you!"
The synergy between Daretti and Feldon is beautiful. Daretti's plus drops things into the 'yard for Feldon to copy, then Daretti can trade in the copy for the original model, or a notable non-creature artifact that made its way into the graveyard.
(Even Wave of Vitriol doesn't really rain on the parade too much, since it doesn't hit Feldon, who can just start the cycle up again the next turn.)

Woah!!! This guy is amazing. Of all of the planeswalkers he definitely has the best synergy with his corresponding legend. The red deck is stupid good.

Because, you know, he spent his 15 walker minutes as a disembodied spirit in a metal husk? Quite hard to represent on a card, you know... if you wanna stay true to the lore.

Hmmm...I feel like they should've gone with a more epic character for these special commamder-walkers. He's got good abilities but he doesn't have quite the epic story/history the other walkers have.

I like how his first ability helps you to get stuff in the yard to reanimate later. Red really seems to get some love this time around.

Because Slobad was a planeswalker for all of a minute.
Seriously, y'all need to get over Slobad.
EDIT: Also, because Daretti isn't dead and still has his spark, WotC can reuse him, satisfying all those players who want a goblin planeswalker.
